- Light Yagami and L have a contest where Light claims he can rewrite Attack on Titan's ending so Eren isn't guilty of any crimes.

To be fair that's not how crime works killing criminals doesn't actually stop crimes from happening that accure just changes statistics and encourages criminals to be more stealthy plus people unfairly convicted get killed the number being higher than you'd expect eren atleast has the excuse of being a traumatised teenager plus technically a war veteran light is a spoilt brat who thinks himself above everyone and becomes judge jury and executioner killing people for flawed reasons.

I’ll also put in this theme of a cycle of violence so the fans of the ending can believe there is a complex grandiose message and convince the people who dislike the ending that they simply aren’t understanding the story. This is so any recognition of plot holes and flaws can easily be argued with this simple phrase so none of them will actually have to come to terms with the issues of the ending. Checkmate L

If Light had the option to kill Eren after finding out what he had done, Light would kill Eren with no hesitation.
Light would think of Eren as someone whos getting in his way of becoming god. From becoming his own interpretation of justice.
I just had this thought while watchng the video. Its nothing important really, just a thought and nothing more.
Light in comparison is 1000x better in terms of actions he did it's like make light x misa a thing and you'd get same result that aot had and light cared abt the task force

Then again, AOT has always been about romance and nothing else, its FAIRY TAIL basically, tragedy + love = friendship and that is how light is interpretating the story, people have to understand that aot is a shonen jump series at the end of the day (yes death note is a shonen jump series too) so stories like this aren't all that great to begin with.
Agreed with the fairy tail analogy it’s crazy how similar the endings are “power of love” but power of friendship can be done well if it fits the theme same with shonen in general

What I meant is the fact that Mappa sexualized a character that was always being protrayed as a depressed child, into a mature woman with vibrant colors, to defend her and make her look like a victim instead, despites all the horrible crimes she has done.
King Fritz is your average historical tribe leader, wasting energy on this character is useless. The problem comes from Ymir. With her power, no one, nothing, even King Fritz and his army could impose anything on her, yet she choosed to massacre and opress people. What's more, even after her death, she decided to keep opressing and killing people for 2000 years by building titans in the paths. And knowing how tedious and hard it for a little girl to build Titans with sand and a water bucket. She must have really, REALLY wanted to massacre and opress people. And in the end she comitted a mass genocide/omnicide and tried to stop anybody who was fighting her.
And the funny thing is that the reason she did this is because "she was in love". When both Ymir and King Fritz were alive, they were equally bad, but at least the King did it to avenge, protect and make life easier for his people (not making it justifiable). Ymir's reasons however were completely nonsensical, treating people like pawns she could crush to get the King's love, wich she didn't get, and it was deserved.
this is a weird comment. Yeah ymir is generally the cause of most of the tragedy in the series, but she still isn’t even the root cause of it.the root cause is her getting the titan powers, which happened because king fritz was an asshole.

You're not making any sense. The titan power has always been there and it wasn't King Fritz who gave it to her, Ymir got it by accident in the forest. I don't like to talk about it, but Ymir also kind of asked for it by freeing the pigs, in ancient times food is scarce, and she was also a slave, the tribe's reaction may be cruel but not so surprising.
Anyway, I don't really understand the point of your comment. Ymir did all this of her own free will, and with her strength, she has absolutely no excuse. King Fritz was indeed as responsible as she was when they were both alive, as all Ymir's actions were done in the name of the king's orders, showing total complicity in these crimes. But after King Fritz's death, his impact on the world stopped, but not Ymir: she continued to create titans for 2000 years, resulting in two millennia of slaughter and oppression. Then it ended with a massive genocide that killed 80% of humanity and set it back to the Middle Ages.
The feminist and pro-simp propaganda has already been explained. Passing off a monster as a victim just because she's a woman, showing off her feminine assets when history has never tried to sexualize her or pass her off as a mature woman even once, even when King Fritz decided to make her his concubine and give her children. Showing that Ymir's abrupt change wasn't random and couldn't be due to the fact that she was simply a woman, there was something else going on, and that something was MAPPA's desire to clear her of her crimes, especially as this abrupt change occurred while the series was trying to "explain" her actions while avoiding the fact of making her take responsibility for them.
The scene in which Ymir embraces her daughters after King Fritz has been killed by a spear is also highly symbolic. The King's dead face, unkempt hair and dripping saliva, a pathetic and humiliating face for a king and not chosen at random. In contrast, Ymir, now a mature, attractive woman, weeps as she cradles her children, making her look like a victim. This scene evokes the stereotype of the wife beaten and abused by her husband (a husband who must have been drawn as old and ugly to better antagonize him) (the scene also reminds me of the view feminists have of women who leave their husbands and take their children with them, but never mind...). Mappa is clearly trying to make us believe that King Fritz is the only villain in the story, and the "look, the big bad abusive man finally got what he deserved" message at the end shows that they were confident I'd buy such nonsense. Except that reality has nothing to do with their sexist ideology. Ymir is undoubtedly a thousand times worse than the King, and even their children, who will have inherited the power of the Titans, will commit an unimaginable carnage.
