@@CarsWithSteve It's a very nice car. The hybrid drive on the XC60 T8 is smooth, fast and quiet. The tech is decent. I like the minimalist design both inside and out, especially compared to the garish German competitors, who seem to have lost the plot. Build quality also seems to be market leading.
The interior is very simple.. even moving through the cluster and infotainment screens I'm surprised how easy Volvo has made it. Glad you're enjoying the car. Is this the first time that you've owned a Volvo?
Nice looking front facia and the console trim looks modern. I like that crystal clear gear shifter. Volvo has been renowned for being a safe practical vehicle, no matter the line or range. Looks like that tenet has continued.
@ no I’m afraid not. I’m currently a Ford Ranger MSRT owner. However, all of the people I have known to have owned a Volvo has said the same thing: they are a safe vehicle to drive.
Hi Steve! Sorry I've been away for a while, but I had a very busy December. Do you find that Volvos sort of remind you of Mercedes in one particular aspect: they feel a bit over-engineered? I have not test driven a Volvo in more than 2 decades, but my abiding memory is coming away feeling like the car (steering, handling, transmission, the feel of the seats, etc.) regards you, the driver, as slightly less skilled than you should be to operate such a machine. It therefore compensates by taking a certain level of control away from you, since leaving it all to your limited skill level would be disastrous. Well, that's my memory, anyway.
Hey Patrick, happy new year! They can teeter into that category when you get into the Polestar version with the optional air suspension system. Newer cars do have a wild amount of tech compared to '60s-90's classics. With self driving cars becoming a bigger thing, we'll most likely see the need for people to learn how to drive becoming obsolete. Driving will be like manual vs auto transmissions, great skill to have but not many options to use it
This guy has a great voice for this type of presentation. Smooth, neutral, masculine, and clear. What a great video and easy to understand.
Thank you 🙏
Very useful content. Volvo should send a link to this to new owners!
Thanks Chris! That's definitely a long term goal of mine so it's good to hear I'm on the right track. How are you enjoying your Volvo?

Indeed! You’ll always find unbiased viewpoints on this TH-cam channel.
This video was so helpful. Thank you for taking the time out to explain how all of the features work. The user manual was not very helpful at all.
You're welcome! Always good to hear when people prefer these videos to the manual. That's why I started making them ;)

I was surprised how much I enjoyed the XC60, loved the power and handling. Do you have a Volvo yourself?

The MSRT styling is pretty neat, how's the power in the turbo diesel? Bang on with safety.. Volvo has an excellent track record for it
