God, I love these kinds of shops. I remember visiting the old Times Square TrUs back in 2005. There's just something special about buying toys like this. Online shopping can simply not compare... IMHO.

Very nice visit at your Toys R Us, I didn't go after Christmas but I did buy a DC figure of Wonder Woman which was on sale, so I decided to treat myself a little! We had a massive Toys R Us in Edinburgh. I used to buy my Snes games there. It's a shame they priced themselves out of the market. It was great going in for a look.

I was lucky enough to be a kid in the mid to late 80s and remember toys r us had toys stacked from the floor to the ceiling. my favorite aisle to go down when I was a kid at toys r us in the 80s was the g.i Joe and transformers aisle. man I wish I could go back and live those days again
Transformers is my thing but this Christmas, for a change, I decided to get a few second-hand items to _round out_ my other small and mostly static collections. For my Kenner Star Wars figures I got a few 'mini-rigs' vehicles, and for Legoland Space I got one of those old moon crater base plates. These few purchases really enhance the look of those toys on my display shelves. :)
I was drooling over that Flash & Red Death set next to them thar DUNE figs. OH and definitely that Nightwing & Red Hood. MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR, Toy Gurl!!!!

You are SO lucky to still have a Toys R Us store! It really stinks not having them in the U.S. anymore. It was always fun going there even if I didn't buy anything. The last thing I bought before they closed was a Batman fidget spinner. The last thing that I REALLY wanted to buy but didn't have the space for was the giant kid sized Luke Skywalker Landspeeder ride-on toy. I did pull the display model out into the aisle and take a picture though! The most I bought at one time at Toys R Us was the complete Ghostbusters set from Playmobil. Those toys are tons of fun! From one Toys R Us kid to another, I hope you're making some great memories!
I miss toys r us. I would go every weekend. We had four locations around where I live. I would go to each one. Lots of times I would go to all of them in the same day. Depending on what I was looking for. It was nice to take my nephews and bond while looking and shopping. We spent alot of time there. It's sad to not having toys r us. but it was nice to see your videos of your toys r us location Laura legend. It brings back good memories.
The stand that makes the Baron appear to float makes it totally worth it. I still can't get into Funko pops. They look like bobbleheads that don't bobble.

My local TRU, before they all closed down, never, ever had any deals. So you're not alone. Also, the staff there didn't know anything about the stock in the store, and were completely unconcerned when I pointed out a load of kids shoplifting, once. No wonder they closed down.
I resort to good old T-R-U myself when I need a plastic fix lol ... your TRU looks better stocked than mine. Would've totally bought that Creature from the Black Lagoon.
The Baron figure reminded me of working third shift at Wal-mart in the late nineties. I used to blurt out to a fellow nerd friend "You can't escape me!! I can float!!!" It wasn't a direct reference just something goofy I would say.
Those masters of the universe mega construx are so cool to put together. I picked up the roton and the newest batch of the little figures stinkor, fisto, teela, faker he-man and evilyn. Then I got the talon fighter with point dredd for Christmas. I gotta say that the little battle cat that comes with the roton and little panthor that comes with the talon fighter are the cutest lol. I want the castle but haven't seen it in any of the stores where I live. May have to break my rule and order it online. Also wave 2 of the masters origin figures are taking so dang long to come out over here. I did recently score a man e faces though 😁

The Masters of the WWE aka MOTU wrestling figures are Walmart exclusives. The Mortal Kombat stuff was fair for 50 bucks. The McFarlane stuff isn't crazily overpriced yet.

I actually hunted for that Godzilla Skullcrawler, it comes with a sweet scale hover craft. Nice choice with the Dune figures, Baron looks to have an interesting design. He seems much larger than the others, hmm... wonder if he's like that in the movie for some reason. I was disappointed that the movie got pushed back but at least there are sneak peeks via figures, etc.
Late night toy shopping with Laura is great. I didn't find any deals but I mainly only hunt for Star Wars Black Series. Loved your reaction to finding the Jurassic Park stuff and being able to grab two. Been there!
Good stuff Laura! Synthwave always sounds sooooo good as background music. Hearing that Toys R Us kids theme song brought a tear to my eye. I miss that store so much. I drive by the empty building all the time and get a little sad. I think a friend of mine holds the world record for watching the original Dune movie the most. He watches it ever freaking day while he works. He's been doing that since before I met him almost 25 years ago. I had an opportunity to get that Colossal T-Rex for like $25 and I passed up on it because I had spent a lot of money on other toys but I totally regret that now.
