9:57 Thank you for preaching this Cadian Sergeant Steel, I hope the greater Guard community spreads/ accepts this. Unfortunately I do agree that they are the one Auto Include unit for Guard, just getting your tanks hitting on 3's re-rolling 1's should be the Guard standard. I'd say 3 units of single sentinels or one big squad of 3 for reinforcement synergy, is an efficient way to include in just about every list.
I just subbed to this channel and I will be Marathon Watching everything you have this weekend while painting my models. I've waited years to start the Guard! Thank you for your videos, Cheers!
It would me a lot of practice to get there (I even repainted this one just a year or two ago to make it look this good). Have you seen my Rogal Dorn painting tutorial yet? It's my entire step by step process on how I do it. I even show how I cover up my mistakes. The trickiest part is the camo pattern if you don't have an airbrush or two different rattle cans. I also recommend solid color vehicles look just as good with these effects I do.
I am currently thinking about starting a fluffy militarum army with a shadowsword as the narative focal point. 1 Shadowsword 2 axilia Russ 1Tank commander (auxilia russ aswell) and filling the rest with scions. An escort of special forces to deliver an anti titan ordnances to a vital side-ops
Love my super heavies, i run x1 Shadowsword + x1 Banesword in my 2k army, might not be the most competitive, but if i play without them i just feel empty (same as when i play dont dont use my DKoK army)
Great for games with your buddies (But they may not stay your buddies for long. 😉) but in tournaments they pretty much get stuck in your deployment zone and you are lucky if you can draw a decent lane of fire. Never take a variant with transport unless your only intent is to protect the troops from an alpha strike from indirect or such. Taking overwatch away from titanic vehicles really brought down their utility.
I would go Baneblade. Shadowsword is better for killing single model units, but the Baneblade is an allcomer that can hurt elites, monsters, vehicles, and light infantry.
Every time i go to my local gaming group (im the only guard player) everyone is always saying "you should get a baneblade" or "have you got a baneblade?" Which is annoying. They look cool, but for the price are they worth it? They can't manauver, they take up half the list and they only have 6 more wounds than a rogal dorn. Am I missing something? Also salutes fom the cadian 101st
in competitive superheavies are meh, their performance exceeds their cost because the terrain is designed to not let them move.. in narrative style games where they can go anywhere and can see the entire map they are unbeatable.
@@KitBrickproductions good point but the biggest reason for my to choose benablade is because you can get eight different versions of tank with a solid chassis out of one box, instead of one with two different guns with a giant hole on the bottom
Take Aim is a modifier to the BS, making it a 3 instead of 4. Heavy is a +1 to Hit Roll. One is a stat modifier. One is a bonus. That allows them to stack.
It is worth it's points in the current meta. The only downside is it's size. Most tournaments run WTC terrain style, which prevents any real movement. But if it's a smaller tournament with casual, or player placed, terrain.. it's on.
Ahh yes.. the Shadow Sword. Armed with the trusty ‘fuck around and find out’ canon.

The wargear is very solid. 5 Twin Bolters and 4 lascannons is nothing to scoff at. on top of the big volcano cannon.
consider the trojan, it heals vehicles, and gives a re-roll to hit rolls of 1
And the fact that it's currently 440 points is nutty
I prefer the banesword. More shots, makes things explode on 3+ and does flat 4 damage so you can usually do enough to kill any target.

This is my favorite version!
I wish I could get my tanks looking half as good as you got it here

The Genestealers thank you for this insight 😈
I'm more of a banesword kind of guy but the shadowsword gets to let it rip once in a while.
Canis rex punched mine first turn and killed it... make sure to screen!
Sounds like I need a Canis Rex 🤣 to ally in to protect the Shadowsword

Hi! If you can pick only one variant what would you take? :)
Baneblade. It's classic. Its universal. It's badass.

Do you think Baneblank is great for tyranids or shadowsword?? I have a game coming up soon and I can’t make up my mind which is best!! 😂😭

They have twice as many guns than a rogal dorn

How does this hit on 2’s? You can only get a max of +1 with heavy or orders but they can’t stack, correct?
