I'd go for the A7RIV used. The price is decent. You get basically 2 lenses when you use crop mode and FF mode. e.g I use a 50mm 1.2 + 135mm 1.8 combo and can get 75mm and 243mm. The photo fps is better with the A7RIV. On top of that, you get the A7RIV because with the hi-res, you can generate another image/story within a shot. (A composition within a composition). You can get 2 images or more from 1 shot. That's the power of the A7RIV 61MP. For video, the fake S-cinetone works with the a7RIV as well. So you're not losing much... Great review and appreciate your video!
Thank you! If you mean as you personal choice, than sure, it is valid thought process. Generally speaking though, A7 IV has other advantages, especially for hybrid users, so A7R IV is definitely not a universally better choice.

Great video. I aim to purchase the a7R IV-A this May, having just completed my GM prime collection(14mm thru135mm). However, I Won't be parting with my trusty a7iii as it has and continues to serve me well. You've mentioned on several occasions that you prefer the Sony flip-style screen over the fully articulated ones. Call me old-school, but I couldn't agree more regarding the flip-screen usefulness for my purpose and style of photography. Other reviewers of the a7R IV-A seem to have reservations about the lack of RAW file size options. Since my plan to purchase this model hinges on capturing the most detail/information possible in my images, I don't view this as a concern. From a real-world perspective, have you found file size to be an issue?
Shooting compressed raw helps with size. I usually only shoot uncompressed with super important work or if I'm trying to reach out with extreme crops. External storage is your friend. I usually only have one project on my PC at a time. When done editing I transfer everything to external storage. Having a fast PC helps with editing a ton too.

For general overall with F2.8 the Tamron can't be beaten (I own this one). The Sigma is crazy sharp, the best - it is quite large/heavy if you are using this for travel.

Yes, but the difference shouldn't be huge.
@@TheHybridShooter Its hard for me to quantify, because I did not have them at the same time.
- While only playing with menu settings, my A74 suddenly was at 28% from full, without taking a single shot or video!
(Original Sony battery)
Great review. If you have A7Siii, I would love to see the comparison between A7Siii & A7iv as well
Nicely done
Thank you!
very good review
Thank you!
in here where i live (as i writen this comment). the price difference is just 100 usd.
twice as many megapixel is not twice as much resolution... Twice the resolution would be four times the megapixelcount (e.g Full-HD vs 4k)
Definitely not.
I own the Sony a7riv and the noise level being good under ISO 3200 in dark shadows especially is not true, that thing cries out noise by just passing 1000 ISO
That depends on your definition of "good". You won't get less noise with any full frame camera, so the A7 IV objectively is "good" in this regard.
Good Video
I like Bratislava.
Hello Budapest!
Hello, but it wasn't shot in Budapest.
@@TheHybridShooter Oh, I’m so sorry about that. I thought it is Budapest
I've got a problem when shooting with A7 IV
I set photo and video mode settings the same
I mean same exposures, PP off
Everything is the same on video and photo mode
But when i switched to video mode from photo mode
I could see the massive difference in colors, WB, Saturation
in photo mode, everything looks great, but when i switched to video
its seems less saturated, less contrast, even less blacks
not only PP off, even S-Log 3 / 2 the same difference is still there
Any way to match photos and video?
You are probably using separate settings for stills and video, I have talked about that in this video.
@@TheHybridShooter no I actually didn't seperate for photo video settings, after than i reset the cam and tried freshly, but that problem is still there
@@kaveen04 Something is probably "ticked" in separate settings menu.
5th time watching this video haha thanks!
First?
what is sony doing with these camera names :D:D:D:D
It is actually very simple.
R: means resolution a7riv, S: is for sensitivity a7siii, C: is for compact a7c, a7 is the budget hybrid a7iv, and the a1 is the flagship hybrid like the a1.
So in in other words If you're not printing photos no need to get R7r....
No, that is too oversimplified statement.
