Mate the amount of time it would have taken me to get the rest of the bolts out would have been far too long for what it is. Check out part two to see how I get on👍🏿
Good work. If its not too late you don't need a whole subframe to fix this. The end sections that have the snapped bolts in come away from the center section and are available separately. Always use new bolts when assembling as they are stretch bolts and one-time use only. Probably the reason why the ones you tried to undo snapped on you was because they had been re-used by a previous mechanic. Vagbolts on e-bay have all the bolts needed for subframe and wishbone assembly.
@stewstube70 yes that was my original plan when the first bolt broke but when the others broke I decided to change the lot because I was changing the anti roll bar at the same time. Thanks for advice about the bolts also. My local VW dealership had all the bolts in stock so I got them all from there🙂
@@aguycalledjoe7802 you're still pulling off a good job though, keep it up I'm sure it'll all fall into place at some point, do you have a means of contacting you? I have a way of getting those bolts out of your old subframe so you don't waste it by scrapping it.
That rock in front of the rear wheel needs to be behind the rear to prevent the car from rolling backwards my friend, anyway keep up the good work, I have the same car with many of the modifications you got.
@rogermartinez78 thanks for the heads up but I used two blocks. One was placed in front of the rear wheel & the other was placed behind the rear wheel on the other side of the car. I always place them this way to prevent the car rolling backward or forward👌🏿. Are you planning any more mods on your car?🙂
@@aguycalledjoe7802 since I have all the bolt on i was planning to do a bottom end refresh with better connecting rods, performance head with all the goodie’s, I just need to find some time to get started.
Yes bro Tourans are the same platform. I have a mk2 Touran which has KW coilovers on it so I now I need to upgrade to adjustable ball joints & I now know I can Install them myself.
@@aguycalledjoe7802 will have to try to fit coilovers on the Mrs Touran next year when it starts to warm up again .. in the meantime I'm enjoying your content 👍🏿
Fair play for taking this job on , I would have panicked after the first bolt had snapped ! 👋👋.
@smallmick6586 I wanted to cry when that bolt snapped🤣🤣. I got some good advice so we are now moving forward🙂

@jonathonbrett-qn1ic thank you. I am going to need all the
luck I can get🤣
Use penetrant and heat on the bolts before attempting to remove them it will save you so much stress and time. Great progress though!
I will remember this info for next time👍🏿
Well done fella good luck with the future
Bro I feel the weather pain you're feeling, I have the same problem, and currently looking for a workshop just for my golf haha
