I've just fitted a fresh B12 suspension kit to mine (Bilstein struts/Eibach springs combo). Not a massive drop but handles superb 👌🏻 Glad to see it's not just my car that had a 'little' corrosion on the hubs. I nearly put roll bars on the car, but decided as it's a road car to not go too wild with it. The suspension will do 👍. The front drop links were rotten so got replaced as a needs must.
Did you manage to get the rear wishbone Bush bolts out without ripping the thread out of the subframe? Have heard this is common when removing the bolts
No mate. Sadly not. One side came out fine, whilst the other didn't. I was going to fix it but instead just replaced it as we had a car in as spares at the time.
Hi there I’m loving your mk5 golf gti project amazing build. I have a mk6 golf gti and I’m fitting the bilstein b8 dampers with H&r sports springs. And I would like if the standard front drop links would be ok to use. Or would I need the adjustable super pro links. And the springs have a 25mm drop many thanks
Thanks for sharing! I am bit short of wheel clearance, do you think that adding the ALK and the camber bushes will push the wheel even further out? I already got them but not sure if it is wise to install them.

When you change the front callipers all you do is hook up the pressure bleeder and crack all four corners at once? do you need to do anything else like bleed the abs pump?
I hook up the pressure bleeder and do them all one by one. If they struggle to bleed or if the pedal doesn't come, then I would consider activating the ABS pump with vcds to bleed them further.
Hi nick quick question I have bought king race bearings for my bwa engine con rods the thing is there’s a hole in bottom cap which one bearings don’t have hole in shell so blocks it off but king race bearings have hole in each shell so would that cause oil pressure problems any help would be great
You saying the stock rod doesn't have rifle drilling but the bearings have a hole for the oiling? If so then using the bearings with a hole won't affect it at all.
The lower cap has hole which is covered up by stock bearing but king race bearings have a hole the to so hole for rifle drilling and hole in lower shell which opens up the hole in con rod cap
