Yes, i agree. The Sigma 30 1.4 is a fine lens. Also like the Zeiss Touit 12 2.8. But now i am waiting for the Tamron 17-70 2.8. I hope this would be a burner

This is my favorite lens for my a6000. It stays on the camera most of the time. Great for indoors, portraits, and outdoor landscapes.

@@k81rclab42 Same as you would with an a6000: set focus to MF and use the focus ring. Manual focus works well in MF on any Sony camera.
I just sold this lens a few weeks ago. It was a great lens.

My Sony ZV-E10 shows up tomorrow (with the kit lens). I will be using it for mostly video and lightweight travel. I thought I would start with the 16-50 and just do some videos, walk around and take some photos as "normal" and then come back to look at everything in the computer and see what mm lenses would work for me. Currently, before I do this test, I am thinking about the Samyang 12mm f2, the 30mm f1.4, and the Sigma 56mm f1.4 (the 16 will be heavier than I want to deal with and I think the 12mm will be better for vlogging).

Hi, your videos are super helpful. I would be very interrested in a comparison of Sigma 30/1.4 on a 24MP sensor vs a Samyang 45/1.8 on a FF 24MP sensor. I think that it really would make sense.

I own the 16 and 56 f/1.4, still I don't want to buy a 30 mm. Sigma also managed to give all tree different filter thread. The 16 use 67 mm, the 56 use 55 and the 30 use 52,. Tamron do a great job using 67 mm on almost all E-mouth lenses.
@@JakeMasseyFilms The 56 f/1.4 is a nice lens and very small. Since 56 on APS.C is like 85 on full frame It is more like a portrait lens. I use mine very seldom since I own the Sony 16-55 f/2.8 and I very seldom need bigger aperture than f/2.8.
I don’t understand how you stated you don’t want to buy a 30mm because the 30mm uses 52mm what does that mean? Isn’t it just focused as a prime at 30mm and not any other focal length?
@@jarrad5244 I don't want to buy any prime between 30 and 35 because I don't need it. My Sony 16-55 f2,8 G cover that perfect.
@@TVe200 but it doesn’t achieve an aperture f stop as low as f1.4 which will enable a lot better shooting in low light/night situations

Why i cant take photos with this lens? I can only take photos if i set it to release shutter without lens but the autofocus won't work. Can anybody help me?

should i get this, but used and comes with 2 filters for $280 or save up a bit and get brand new sigma 56mm for $430 (can't find used one atm). And yes, everything is way more expensive in my country and we earn way less $350 average monthly salary.

Unless you have a big room, its going to be a bit tight. Maybe have a look at the 16mm.
I shoot portrait pics of myself at the gym would this be a suitable lens for me if I want crisp quality with a background blur?
Yes will be a great choice. Something wider might be better in tight spaces. Check out the 16mm.

How will it work on full frame?
I will have a 1.5x crop. If you don't have a crop body, I would recommend sticking to full frame lenses.
If this and the Sony 35mm were the same price, which would you choose for an a6600?
