Attraverso Busoni che arrangia Brahms paiono ricollegarsi idealmente ed avventurosamente residui bachiani a un certo cromatismo vagamente Lisztiano, in un sincretismo stilistico arduo eppure sostenuto dalla linearità imperturbabile del melos.... Splendida resa pianistica, sobria e a lunga campata nel pensiero interiore ( mai dispersivo, grazie a un andamento sostenuto anche nell' allure...) Sorry, Du solltest den Flügel vor der Aufnahme einmal stimmen. Und der Hall in der Kirche ist für dieses Stück nicht schön. Ich mag das Tempo. Wird manchmal zu schnell genommen. So kommt der Fluss des Chorals schöner raus. Das Stück ist auf der Orgel auch wunderbar. Busoni hat mit der Transkription aus dem Meisterwerk ein Zweites gemacht.
