This had me cracking up! On the one hand, you know that a device is well manufactured when people are getting this creative to find ways to use it more, but on the other hand, you know that the software and actual implementation in everyday life is anemic when the best use case we can come up with for such a beautiful and expensive tablet is to make it a tiny whiteboard on top of a much cheaper much larger whiteboard lol. Genuinely can’t tell if this was satire, but I appreciate the effort you went through nonetheless lol
Ok, so you nailed this one. I am a huge fan of using whiteboards (although multi-color isn't always my thing 😁) and this makes a really good case for the metal that some devices are made out of. I am pretty sure the magnets in the Supernote would not be enough to hold it securely. The only concern I have is the glass screen if it was to get knocked or fall. Can you imagine a metal device with a Mobius screen? It would be even better for academia if it was the LAN type sharing that the Supernote does, but as long as you have the Remarkable app, you would be golden. Thanks for sharing this.
Yea I tried the Supernote and no luck :( I can't wait to get my hands on a Mobius display, and I'd love to see a metal one for sure. That LAN feature would be killer too, and not too hard to implement. Doubt rM will ever get around to something like that. Thanks for the comment :)
Uhhh... that was weird! Interesting, but weird! I feel all the devices are either note-takers, readers, content-consumers, productivity devices (multi-function), and you have to just look at each one as how it's going to fit in your ecosystem. That's why an iPad won't replace a reMarkable, and the same vice versa. I see reMarkable as replacing your physical notebook. The reason it can access epub and PDFs isn't to curl up and sit by the fire and read, it's to gather all your data together that you need to research into one nice collection on the device, and then review, make notes, annotate, etc, and then of course export or email your final work to share with others. And as well, it'll help you organize, plan, or manage tasks, or journal activities throughout the day(s).
Ehhhhh, I'll take that as a compliment, lol. I totally agree with your use case for the rM as a platform. I think you hit the nail on the head. Think I'll steal that explanation, if you don't mind. Of course not, thank you :)
Npo streaks of light, just a glow around the bexel, which I like but, it's off a bit from the bottom. Could have been centered better, for a unifor glow. Next time🤷🏾♂️
Do this with my Boox 10.3, it holds almost too well, its hard to remove LOL. In the past I have done it with my ipad mini with a magnetic case. BTW, It (rMPP) is not better than a tablet at viewing images, just saying. The magnets are in the tablet, I do it on my refrigerator too.
Yea I've come to realize that it's about the magnets in the tablets to keep them in the cases they come with. But man this is also a good use. And yeah, iPads are best for viewing images in general. But in the eInk world, reMarkable reigns supreme.
Interesting Idea and a fun fact about RM that the magnets are strong enough. I wonder how resistant it is to any shakes or there will be a cushion under it, always ;).
And that, my friends, is why I never mentioned the fridge, lol. But in all honesty. The only Tablet I put up and fely 100% secure in leaving there was the rMPP. Those magnets are strong! Milage may vary :)

Displaying a static image on a whiteboard - like, say, a piece of paper held on there a fridge magnet? 😀 Well, I guess at least the Remarkable Paper Pro takes up less room than a printer.
The idea is nice, but I would be too worried to have the tablet fall down, even if the magnets are strong, it can happen while removing it from the board and slip off your hands. Also definitely not something I want to hang up and share with others in a meeting where anyone may scribble and destroy the device with too much pressure or using wrong pencil/marker. Or hear that one guy "KLONKK....OOPSIE....SORRY..." after AUD 1000.- crashed down. ;-)
dude i hope this was some kind of satire because you just put 2k worth of epaper devices vertically on a whiteboard. Makes no sense to anyone who actually cares when spending how much each of those devices cost. For the fridge or whatever there are 20$ "tablets" you can buy.
You just made my day! Now I know that my Boox Go 10.3 is the best fridge magnet ever!
Ever! lol, glad you found it useful.
Thanks!
YW, and thank you as well brother!

Thanks!? lol, It was a bit of satire and genuine curiosity.

Great thinking out of the box idea! Thanks! Just tried, it works on my fridge too (Go 10.3).
Awesome right! I mean I have so many more use cases for my eInk now, lol. Enjoy!
I literally just tried sticking my Go10.3 on my fridge and it worked!
It's like a wow moment fr fr, lol. Enjoy!
So nice. 99% of people don't even know it is possible, including me.
IKR! super psyched when I did it dawned on me.
I quite like your original takes. In particular the fact you’re thinking in terms of use-cases instead of features!
Amazing job 🎉
Thanks man! Really appreciated!

Hey, does your tablet show streaks of light when it’s on the brightest setting?
Npo streaks of light, just a glow around the bexel, which I like but, it's off a bit from the bottom. Could have been centered better, for a unifor glow. Next time🤷🏾♂️

only issue is you cannot use the filo whilst stuck on a whiteboard 😢
Yes you can. I tried that too. Open and closed, it works :)
well, the book folio does.
So I was checking out how dark/light the screens were in comparison to the whiteboard and each other. That is really interesting, too. 🤭
Indeed, hadn't considered that. That's actually pretty good test to add to my tablet tests. Thx!
....wait were you being facetious? lol
@rantsabouttechnology was serious, it's a great comparison lol...
Interesting Idea and a fun fact about RM that the magnets are strong enough. I wonder how resistant it is to any shakes or there will be a cushion under it, always ;).
The rMPP will stay there. I'd expect the whiteboard to come down first. It's pretty solid.
Roger is not responsible if you slam the door to your refrigerator and your tablet falls off 😂
And that, my friends, is why I never mentioned the fridge, lol. But in all honesty. The only Tablet I put up and fely 100% secure in leaving there was the rMPP. Those magnets are strong! Milage may vary :)

LMAO!
$700 Whiteboard? LUV the first-world lifestyle.
For sure! But, first world issues are still issues, lol.

Lol, all valid points. I'm just a rebel 😅
Going on week #2 with no incidents. 🤞🏿
Nice so that is what white boards are for
LOL! Yup :)

Wrong! 3k worth of tablets!😂🤙🏾
@@rantsabouttechnology Love it!!!
@@rantsabouttechnology👏👏👏👏🤣🏆
I started like huh at 2:50 😂
