Episode 7 is called Gotron Jerry’s Rickvangelion and it’s basically about the whole family doing some power rangers stuff like when they form the big robot they basically just did a little rip off

Nobody has mentioned that for two episodes in a row Rick has actively pursued a relationship. Even offering to settle down. Even if they were superficial attempts, it’s way different from the Rick of past episodes. (Maybe someone has talked about itand I’ve missed it)

Sadly I don't think these changes are due to a decision-making by the writers to have this be 'alternate versions' of the characters -- I think it's just the writers not liking what the characters were before and changing them to their own preferences.

If you think about it the Rick we see isn’t technically the original Rick. That one died in the brainalyzer but his consciousness hopped around until it found the Rick it’s in

i feel like yeah this season has had weird little bits of continuity. Rick not using his portal gun, less of him drinking (which could tie in to his awarness of having a substance abuse problem) etc
I literally just realised that that whole bucket must have been full of Morty's own spuff! I assumed he just added a bit to the mostly full horse bucket and I didn't understand why the sperms or incest baby didn't have any horsey traits. I'm not sure which is worse.
If it was just horse, then the episode would not have had a premise. Rick was going to make a spuke-nuke to douse the chuds, remember. But if it wasn't horse... Lots of energy!

I think most of the sperm was horse sperm. And that's implied but left unclear most of the episode to build tension. But Sticky was definitely from Morty as he acknowledges his original home. So they went out of their way to make sure we know this is definitely an incest baby.

I’m definitely in the minority here but I’m very happy this episode exists 😂 not my favorite or even close to it, but once a season I really love seeing them try to push their boundaries. Also love that it’s cannon that Morty and Summer have a giant, floating incest baby just forever drifting through space
Watching the "Inside the Episode" for this Episode feels like nobody was comfortable with this episode at all. They just seemed to work backwards from "I want rick and morty to fight huge sperm" and just stumbled into an absolute Charlie Foxtrott
One of the most consistent continuity examples is the crack in the driveway concrete of the family home. This was a result of the house bubbled-up and sent to a different dimension in the Season 1 Finale, "Ricksy Business". Not as far back as the graves from "Rick Potion #9", but I think it is displayed much more often, and yet is more subtle.
in 5x03 it wasn't visible, even though one of the graves was. Could be always an animators' mistake.
Its funny to see two grown-up men getting so grossed out by just talking about a cartoon episode...
Yeah I honestly thought that was kinda lame... I normally like these guys but I found myself stuck on how incredibly immature these two are through the whole ring.

I don’t love their critiques of the episode because the obvious underlying tones hit on women being smart but overlooked, with men being dumb + primitive + obnoxiously loud and ultimately dismissive of anything women say. Even though the women were clearly the only reasonable heroes in this episode. So I don’t feel that this episode was just gross to be gross. It was obnoxiously masculine to drive home the point that dudes can be so caught up in their own idiocy that without the help of women, they’d destroy themselves

I feel this episode was made to deliberately alienate the fanbase. Rick behaved uncharacteristically oblivious to Morty’s lie, there’s direct relation to feminist ideas, the mirror to the face of the fanbase of masturbation shame, etc.
There is something off about this season, not in a bad way but deliberately done by the writers to pull the rug out from under us at some point. Rick seems out of character. he's way too nice and patient

In the leaked episode 7 Rick has his portal gun still.. he used it to activate the huge mega-mega-mega Tron robot… this episode he didn’t need it.
I thought this was the funniest episode of the season so far. Not sure what's so gross about sperm monsters... And it's not like morty and summer ACTUALLY had sex. In fact they are actively trying to stop the fertilization... The giant space baby is just a logical conclusion to the absurdist story being told.

Summer's egg got me back on board with the episode because of how incredibly dumb it was and how much it mortified Morty. Was feeling that the sperm army was loosing steam and was too dumb of an idea. Glad to see the Chuds and the government's giant egg plan to escalate the steaks.

Season 5 Rick: To me Rick is growing. Of course with Rick who knows if it's genuine lol. But less drool, and admitting he has a substance abuse problem. "Hey Kiddo how's your day...." The pinky promise with Summer. Combine this with him coming to grips with being a bad father at the Season 4 Finale.
I feel like he's trying to "Right his Wrongs'" and stick around fixing the current reality he's in, instead of just moving realities, or shifting the problem to the realities. Also teaching Morty to face things head on "Life is a fight" I'm loving this season!

i feel like i was ok with the episode (considering the bar was very low after the dragon incident) up to the point of the giant ... baby part
Harmon has been making people uncomfortable with incest since that Season 6 episode of Community when Garret is marrying his cousin. At the end of the episode they had the writer come on camera and talk about how he wrote an episode on incest.
The funny thing is, that writer doesnt exist. That whole thing at the end of the episode was a joke skit done by an actor, if you look in the credits you see the name of the writer and "PLAYED BY [____]
