Which is actually weird, since last episode Morty acknowledged that he hasn't been to a week of school for "years". And I know that might be an exaggeration, but with everything that has happened he must've been out for a year at least
The time travel remote episode might have encopassed several years for all we know
There was a gag where summer was going to college once I think they messed with the timeline on purpose for some bigger reveal later on
The missing planeteer parody was heart, as in Planteena has no empathy for people who hurt the environment.
I think it was more about Morty not being able to kill someone with it, although it could have easily been the seals used as the weapon.

I think that would've been confusing or not worthwhile putting forward when all the actual elements make sense on the own.

The most important thing is rick has become the b character. Morty is the lead this season and often without rick. There is a nice tension emerging

Morty didn't even need Rick's help whatsoever in getting out of the tough situation in this episode. He got tied up and almost die, yet he turned it all around and killed all those people all by himself. He is becoming a Rick

In Season 4, Episode 8, Rick asks Morty "what's that cool thing you've done without me again?" He's got one now. Morty has definitely changed along the way, but this was one of the first times I really felt and noticed how different he is from what he started as. I love the gradual change, and I love what he's becoming. This may be my favorite episode so far.

I think the idea of calling Planetina a “Phase 4 Superhero” is definitely a nod towards marvel, but more so the X-men comics. At one point someone devised a way to almost rank mutant powers, and the most powerful who could potentially cause disaster/apocalypse-level events were called omega level mutants.
This one wasn’t bad really. For starters: unlike the first and second, it had an actual plot. Morty had some pretty big emotional milestones and a truly badass moment, and i found the extended Summer/Rick interaction to be quite enjoyable.
God I didn't know if I should cry my eyes out with this episode or laugh my ass off with Rick and Summers adventure. A true rollercoaster of emotions.

hey! one thing i noticed you missed was when planetina first stopped the wildfires, you can see morty chasing after a rabbit to pick it up, just to put it back down again to make it seem like he saved the rabbit after planetina noticed he was there

As someone who grew up watching Captain Planet, I enjoyed this episode a lot.
Another possible reference: The name of the second planet that Rick and Summer visit ('Slartivart'), may be a reference to Slartibartfast, a character from 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy', who's job was to design planets.
The most unbelievable thing about this episode was that coal mines are still a thing.

Named a bunch of Captain Planet villains, left out Verminous Skumm, the one Diesel Wesel was actually based on
Morty’s gotten Lowkey tuff this series, between murdering the planeteers and all of those people in that portal he went into in the first episode. Plus being heartbroken twice, I feel like he’s about to go psycho in the near future lol. Like purge morty crazy
I’m starting to wonder if this is some cycle that is a self fulfilling prophecy. Morty is slowly becoming jaded by life and because of his life experience and exposure to Rick, he will eventually become rick and not just an older morty.

Why didn’t he touch on Morty’s acid-burned shirt being modified? Like, it’s an obvious, unmissable detail… but so are like a third of the things he does cover.
Partly cause the TH-cam videos would be too long and partly as a clever marketing move to get us smooth brains to talk about the obvious missing ones and pad they engagement stats.
When the aliens start booing Summer they hold their hands like you would expect someone to when shouting, but their mouths are on top of their heads.

You missed out the part that the scene of his mom entering his room was always the scene in the intro but for different scenarios, like of of them is the butt face morty looking a dirty magazine
I feel like some of the knick knacks in Morty's room were references to previous episodes.
There's a poster about reptiles that has a snake on it, like the terminator snakes in S4ep5
A poster titled "Satan's Devil" which could reference S1ep9 which had the devil in it (or S5ep5 where they go to hell)
An anatomical model of the muscular system (really random for Morty to just have in his room) possibly referencing when Summer got turned inside out in S3ep5
Also I feel like the "Darth Buddha" and magnet posters might reference something but I'm too tired to think of it rn

'Ely's' is another callback to Deep Impact - the government refers to the impending comet as E.L.E. (extinction-level event), which the reporter misunderstands as a woman's name (Elly)
So far this is the only episode of Rick and Morty that actually made me cry.
I kinda found it funny how Rick went as far rewriting the acid rain damaged shirt to say Summer and draw over Morty's face to make it Summer lol
i believe the scene with Planet Tina murdering the coal miners forced Morty to reconsider his own morals. Although Morty justified his actions to Tina we can all see that his rebellion against Tinas children ended with him committing his own cold murders. Tina must love the planet similarly to how Morty loves Tina, and i believe Morty was forced to confront his hypocrisy. We can see him distancing himself from rick who has nihilistic views since the first episode of the season, which might be what brought on the character development, as he is developing away from rick. the closing shot really seems to symbolize that change and the trauma necessary for growth. Great episode
