I like the bed couch build you did. I noticed a gap of 5 inches under the build, that could be used for storing flat items or an extra coat or blanket. Enjoy your new trailer !!
Great idea on the dog food !!❤❤❤great set up
Great idea with the dog food bowl... I also love your lil' trailer...
One of the nicest Range runner set ups I have seen.
Congratulations on also getting a 2021 Range Runner, we picked ours up in November in Tennessee. I will recommend you get a cover for the AC unit as In the first 1000 miles I did have stones get through the grate and bend some of cooling fins. If you use and old political yard sign material and cut it to the size of the front of the AC unit and put it inside the cover, I am told by a long time Runaway trailer user that it helps keep the stones from doing damage. My wife Melinda and I really enjoyed our first 6 nights in it back in November on our way back to Iowa. We are now looking forward to the Runaway Homecoming in Florida and getting a little break from the winter. Steven and Melinda Arndt
I love that you can convert to a couch. That’s very smart. You are really selling this camper to me! 😆
Love what you did with the sofa bed mod 👍💕
thank you
Wow the bed couch design is genius, I might copy your idea here !
Great idea with the awning that covers the trailer and outside living area. Seems it would make the trailer a lot more comfortable on hot days without the sun beating down on it.
Dude ur bed mod is fire 🔥. Amazing work!!! Its genius is its simplicity 👍👍 thnx for sharing
Thanks i just put a complete 400 watt solar system on the camper. It is sick…… check out the latest upload on my Chanel
This looks great! I would totally buy a PDF of step-by-step instructions!
Ill get to work on those asap
Love what you’ve done !!! Handy as you are plenty of little things you can bring to life in the smaller space !!! Great job ( even with the ant issue 😊👍🏼). Best wishes to you both !!! Be Safe & enjoy 😊
thank you
I thought seriously about buying a Range Runner for the price and quality build for such a small camper but I weighed the options and found a 17-20' self contained was more convenient. You have small kitchen, small bathroom and you can stand up. That standing up inside was the deciding factor. I'm 6' and I have 6" clearance in my Keystone 199L. It only weighs 3500# and can be towed by midsize SUV or any pickup. It also has two axles which is safer in the event of a blowout of one tire.
Which trailer? Do you still like it? Is the quality OK? Thank you
Great bed idea. I am 6'4"
Great idea with the bed extension. I am 6'3" so no way I can sleep sideways. So I was going to go length ways. And I was wonder how I would use the side door. But your extension idea is perfect, just move the extension out of the way until i am ready to sleep.
Kool thanks for taken the time to make a great video 🙏🙏 God bless you and your family
Thanks for sharing,
Looks Like A Great Adventure!
I like that you customized for you. 😇
Very nice modifications.
I really like the simple bed that converts to a couch, very well designed.
ThNk you
I love the bed/sofa modification. Exactly what I've been looking for.
Would love the detailed plans (instructions and supplies) for this that a nonmechanical/noncarpenter person (me!) can follow. A couple of questions? Why 2x6 and not 2x4? And, could the back part of the sofa/bed be made so that you can store sheets/blankets/pillows underneath?
2x 4 would work but having the bed as high as posible off of the floor makes it easier to het dressed. and yes you could put a hinge on the back bottom piece of plywood with a little latch handle you could lift it and stuf things underneith like a secret compartment. you are the second person asking for plans . i work on a set this week.
Congratulations! Loved your video. We have a 2020 Range Runner and just love it!
Thank you
A thin stripe of Vaseline around the sides of pet food bowls stops bugs from getting to the food.
This very cool, dumb question from someone that is not a carpenter. When drilling into the walls and floors what type of screws are you using. You can't beat the price of this camper and making your own mods, really makes it yours. Good job and thanks for the inspiration.
Very nice set up! Well done 👍
We have the same one as you! We did a sofa bed, but no platform.
i love mine
sweet set up !
Love the modifications!
I am going to try the bed can I put nails in the floor, in the walls. Love your idea.
no nails or screws in floor or walls
Smart move with the dog food!
Very cool and nice innovation
Nice mod. Any issues with securing the 2X6's to the wall considering this model is honeycomb Vs the old model with plywood construction?
I'm curious about that as well.
Like your mods. So when you have to screw something into the walls, how do you do that if the walls are composite. Thanks......Rick
i use coarse thread screws and the screws really only hold sheer weight. (sideways) they will not hold to much pull out weight
I recently just purchased a runaway, I was wondering if you had a video/ plans that you used to make the frame for the bed?
The bed platform is ingenious....love the flexibility. Did you cut up a foam mattress?...and if so....how did you wrap the finished sections? you have a great set up.....looking at the same camper.....so thanks for the ideas.
We have a local foam company nearby. They cut the foam for us and sewed the covers. 4 inch medium density foam.
Nice mods. I wonder how you fixed the wood to the side of the camper?
Bed is wedged in tight and shelves use small angle clipa and large wood screws
@@StoneBrokeAdventure are there any issues with holes in the side panel?
@@tmille777 the side panels are plastic. The screws are short and fat and only go through the first layer. the screws only hold sheer load(up and down and back and forth) so they are solid . They dont have any tensile load( pulling out) . I would be concerned with tensile strength of a screw in walls.
you said the walls are not wood, how did you anchor your shelf to the wall ??? if we buy 1,, we could use all the help and advice we can get :) , thank-you
Large threat wood screw . Build shelves that are supported from bottom . Screws will suport back and forth movement . Shelves will suport themselves up and down movement
@@StoneBrokeAdventure do you mean coarse thread wood screws ?? so,, you did not anchor them to the wall ?? there has to be metal tubing inside the walls someplace,, especially around the a/c, i would anchor mine to the walls ,,
@@woofman4796 yes coarse thread.. the walls are honeycomb composite (plastic fiberglass.) the ac sandwiches the walls with brackets. the camper comes with 1 shelf .it is fastened to the walls just copy what they did. just be careful to not strip screws
@@woofman4796 check out my chanell i have a few vids on the camper
@@StoneBrokeAdventure ok,, thank-you,, my wife and i love the bed idea,, we are getting the taller camper, so we'll go with 2 x 8 maybe , you have some handy skills,, we live in zephyrhills , florida by the way, just north of tampa,, are you in florida ??
With such a large sheet of plywood to lift up each time to change the bed consider a larger more comfortable hand hole cut out to lift the plywood and eliminate the painful recessed tiny finger pull.
@@peterdement after a couple of years i find we hardly ever push it back. if i did it again i would make it out of alluminum to reduce weight
@ 3:06 so when you’re in trouble, who sleeps on the couch?
Take a wild guess
Great ideas thanks for sharing
Clever setup with the bed platform. Check out my homemade camper.
Where did you get the foam for your mattresses? I assume you bought foam and cut it to the right dimensions.
A local company in holly hill fl. AAA foam . He has been arouund for years.
Does this trailer require 220v or normal 110v house current connected to the outside receptacle?
Regular house power
Couch mode!!
Hey we have a dog very similar to yours. He is an 80 pound lab doodle. What do you do with the dog? For sleeping? Do you bring him into the camper?. I was thinking we would bring the crate and let him sleep just outside the camper under an awning. He doesn’t get on the bed at home…Just wondering what more experience campers do with big dogs and a little teardrop camper’s
She sleeps with us inside camper. On the floor by the door. Its kind of a pain in the rear. I love my dog but..... sometimes we bring her sometimes she stays home.
How did you secure the wood to the walls?
on the bed frame it is not secured to walls it is basically wedged in. in the shelves i used 1/2 inch screws and angle brackets. be careful not to strip the screws,
the composite walls are soft
I have been thinking about getting a Runaway but was concerned about building shelves and attaching things to the walls. So the board along the side walls are also wedged in?
The shelves are essentially self supporting. The only screws i use keep it rfop tilting over. The bed has no screws into camper. Everything is very secure
Could the 6x8 model fit a fold out queen size bed couch?
Im not really sure i had custom foam cut . I know alot of people buy a memory foam and cut it
@@StoneBrokeAdventure thanks
Are you using the storage under the back of the bedframe?
I could if i needed to . I could ad a couple of hatches but i really dont need room for anything else.
Sweet
Did you purchase any upgrades from Runaway Campers? Or did you just get the base model with no upgrades, then starting modding it from there?
i did purchase the roof racks. that was it.
What size is you camper inside? Wxlxh?
70x95x46high inches
Short people are so lucky, lets you sleep sideways, I'm too tall and always need to have my bed go the length and I loose sooooo much room.
do you miss a porta potty
we want to get the tallest 1
Looks great. I like the bed/sofa idea. Notice the electrical outlet has been moved. Did you have any issues with oversized seams around the doors? Keep sharing updates to your runaway. Thanks
thanks . we are doing a trip to sebastian inlet this weekend we will probably post something
@@StoneBrokeAdventure was wondering what mattress did you buy and from where?
@@rkuhn35 it is a 4 inch medium density foam. 30x70 inches. we have a local foam company in town that cut it for me. and they also sewed the cover. if you do some diging you should be able to fine something near you. this is a place where furniture repair guys and car apolstery people go th get their foam.
Now I feel like eating bacon 😑.
Bacon is amazing
How is wood frame and shelving being attached to composite walls?
fat short screws and little angles on side walls
