      I never watched it a second time. It came out the exact same time The Prestige came out and The Prestige is already the better movie by far, but some of the plot decisions in The Illusionist just felt so dumb. Now Norton was great in it, but he's always great.

    Rounders single handedly created the poker boom of the early 2000s

    • @balooko31
      @balooko31 4 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      1) Rounders, 2) Lipstick cameras in the table showing hole cards on TV, 3) Moneymaker's $40 into $2M main event win ... combo of those 3

    • @BuzzLightyear9999
      @BuzzLightyear9999 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      balooko31 Actually, it was the NHL lockout of 2004-05 that created the boom. ESPN needed cheap content to put on the air in a hurry and the WPT/WSOP hole-cam technology was sufficiently well developed by that time.
      Rounders is the single greatest (probably seminal) poker movie ever made, but the boom was fuelled by TV exposure in 04/05, not due to the movie...

    I still wanna see Eddie Norton as Gordon Freeman in a Half Life movie adaption. He's the only actor i can think of who could perfectly nail this role.

    They gave him the cards. No Body Gets four 4's in a real deck. Especially an actor, a relative novice. 🤣🤣🤣😅 Cracking me up

    He is hard to work with because I think he is so much smarter the. Some of his directors. Notice the good directors have no problem with him that’s because they are mentally compatible with him while some others have no right to be telling him what to do.

      No, he's hard to work with because he THINKS he's so much smarter than his directors.
