Dennis seems like he'd be that one friend's "cool dad" who always has a story to tell. Just seems so normal and down-to-earth for a Hollywood actor which is super refreshing to see. Appreciate his movies, too. Neat clip.
So glad Dennis took Breaking Away. I was ten years old when I saw that in the theater. It was the first movie I saw that was not a kid movie and I still love that film today. Dennis is a national treasure.
Im 50, watched Breaking Away 14:57 DoH when they were first on television. I've rewatched Breaking Away several times in my life. I consider it a gem. One of the best of all time. I haven't watched DoH since i was that 8-9 y/o kid. You made the right call, Mr. Quaid.
I'm in my mid 50s and even as a 10 to 12 year old I didn't get why my friends watched Dukes. Hot garbage and we were too young to pleasure ourselves to Catherine Bach.
He made the right choice -Breaking Away a classic cool coming of age movie when I was coming of age . I bought my first pretty little French ten speed because of that movie !
Yes 🎉 that is one of two movies I have seen of his. The other was one called inner space (I think was the name, I saw them both as a kid) he was shrunk along with a spaceship and injected into Martin short for some reason 😂
One of the things that makes BA special is that every character has great scenes and that even the "bad guy" (Hart Bochner) is a human being and not a monster.
The Right Stuff…infinitely rewatchable. Incredible book, and a phenomenal film interpretation. Harry Schearer and Jeff Goldblum are a great duo, provided additional comic relief.
My father flew and qualified in 31 different types of aircraft and several different Helicopter models He was a U.S. Naval Aviator and his name was also Dennis
I ran into Dennis Quaid with his son about 20 years ago on a beach in Ontario, Canada. His son was just a young buck at the time. He grew up to be an actor in Star Trek: Lower Decks.
One of the better True and False Q&A that I have seen lately. Well done. Appreciate Dennis not simply giving a “yes” and moving on. Great context behind each answer.
Quaid is one of my favorite actors. He was in a movie called our winning season 1978. I was a teenager when I saw that and it really affected me. Great acting great story.
The Blue Angels actually don't wear G-suits, because the constant inflation/deflation of the suit can cause the pilot's arm holding the stick to move slightly and affect the flight of the jet.
So funny old dudes getting questions answered after all this time. Answer to “did you get anything from Marino?”is priceless. And Jim Brown stories are the best too
"Breaking Away" won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay [Steve Tesich] and is by far the best movie involving a sport set in Indiana. Quaid is perfect in his role as the former high school quarterback who realizes his glory days, recently ended, will never be matched. He's a has-been at 18.
@@gheller2261 In my opinion, the screenplay relies on viewers to do what they want to do: root for an underdog. Breaking Away is filled with wonderful scenes and every major character is a memorable person.
Most people don’t like The Missouri Breaks, if they even know about it, but I like it. Nicholson and Brando were next door neighbors for decades and only did one movie together. The Last Detail is a great movie, I like it so much I own the Blu-ray.
Love DQ’s movies! Not sure Any given Sunday is the best football movie. A lot of tough competition in that category such as Remember the Titans, We are Marshall, Rudy, North Dallas 40, The Blind Side… I watched AGS again recently, with my son and I thought it was good but needed to be edited more. Too much dialogue in some parts.
The Rookie was the best ever movie. I love any and all BB movies, but The Rookie and MR Baseball are my favorites. Then comes Major League, Bull Durham, and many others.
love quaid in right stuff and any given sunday. i heard he is a rude party nut sometimes afterhours when playing gigs with his band, but on screen, love the guy.
OK, this is a Chick Flick, but a great movie nonetheless. Something To Talk About. Dennis Quaid, Julia Roberts, Kyra Sedgwick, Robert Duvall and Gena Rowlands on a Southern horse farm. 1995 and all five actors were young (-er in the case of Duvall and Rowlands who played the parents) and absolutely fantastic. Dennis and Julia swing dancing was just joyful. Love Dennis Quaid. I am really enjoying this new segment of Celebrity True or False. Most of these people have great stories and Rich just brings the best out of folks.
I think "Remember The Titans" has the best cinematography and makes you feel like you are in the action. "Any Given Sunday" went way overboard with the guy sawing the car in half, the alligator in the shower, and the eyeball falling out on the field. The jerseys alone will tell you it is a fantasy.
I heard the reason he didn't take the role in the Dukes was because he wanted his girlfriend at the time to play Daisy. So he told them he'd do it but only if they hired her too but Catherine had already been cast so he declined.
Im alover of movies that bombed and most people dont like or maybe never even seen it . Dennis's brother was in a bomb that was allegedly the sequel to Fast Times @ Ridgemont High called The Wild Life . Edward Van Halen and Donn Landee did the soundtrack . Randy Quaid played a great performance of a Vietnam veteran . Dennis was in a bomb called The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia with Kristy McNicol and Mark Hammill .
Absolutely love the characters he portrays, he's excellent in the movies. There are a few actors that just shine on screen but I wouldn't want to knowmthem in real life because they're a hot mess.
A couple thoughts.. The Last Detail is an excellent movie.. I definitely recommend if you can find it?.. But those Quaid boys from just down the street (I’m a Houstonian) are my guys.. Dennis will always be Gordo in my mind, and I just wanna get drunk or stoned with Randy… Just once..
Great flick
Love that movie.
Dennis is the Man. Gordo Cooper to the stars! Best sh!t eatin grin in Hollywood history.
Quaid.
He had a small, but critical part. His monologue about being a young football star is a gem.
I'm in my mid 50s and even as a 10 to 12 year old I didn't get why my friends watched Dukes. Hot garbage and we were too young to pleasure ourselves to Catherine Bach.
"Sacrifice, don't give up the fight / Everything will be alright / On any given sunday". Love Dennis Quaid !
Some people lead enchanted lives. Dennis Quaid is among them. Great actor!
Except for having a brother fly off the deep end.
I love his dog laying there at his feet
ON his feet! Loved it, too!!
He made the right choice -Breaking Away a classic cool coming of age movie when I was coming of age . I bought my first pretty little French ten speed because of that movie !
Dennis Quaid is a great actor! One of my favorite movies he did was Enemy Mine (1985).
Yes 🎉 that is one of two movies I have seen of his. The other was one called inner space (I think was the name, I saw them both as a kid) he was shrunk along with a spaceship and injected into Martin short for some reason 😂
@@DonovenGreythat movie was awesome! Ridiculous but awesome
Great movie!
Eeaarrth maaan...
@@DonovenGreyThat is the name. With Meg Ryan & Martin Short.
I could have listened to an hour more of these guys talking! What a great guy!!
He was amazing in “Great Balls of Fire”.
And my favorite of his is “Innerspace”.
Breaking Away was such an incredible movie. It wouldn’t have been the same without Dennis.
He was the moral center of that movie. His character, his development was the true heart of the film.
“I’ll have a coke. In a clean glass.”Or something like that. Obscure line from Shearer always stuck with me for some reason.
My father flew and qualified in 31 different types of aircraft and several different Helicopter models He was a U.S. Naval Aviator and his name was also Dennis
I watch The Right Stuff at least once a year. It's maybe the best movie ever made. Great interview
Better than Goodfellas?
Just got The Right Stuff on blu ray. Amazing.
My father knew Chuck and he told me that he was a great man and a true American hero.
I ran into Dennis Quaid with his son about 20 years ago on a beach in Ontario, Canada. His son was just a young buck at the time. He grew up to be an actor in Star Trek: Lower Decks.
And now, The Boys, right?
My dad was a security guard at the stadium and worked that night. For the rookie.
Most interesting true/false ever
Just watched Parent Trap 98 yesterday
Happy belated b-day Dennis
Great interview Rich.
Cool to hear all these stories ftom Dennis Quaid
One of the better True and False Q&A that I have seen lately. Well done. Appreciate Dennis not simply giving a “yes” and moving on. Great context behind each answer.
You need to bring him back for more stories. Great actor. Frequency
Quaid is one of my favorite actors. He was in a movie called our winning season 1978. I was a teenager when I saw that and it really affected me. Great acting great story.
Such a great actor for so long and seems like a regular type guy!
He's definitely not someone who reminds you of anyone else~
Maybe Aidan Quinn but he was only a decent actor for 10ish yrs~
I’m not a Dennis Quaid fan. However, just for being so good in the movie Savior, I love him.
The Blue Angels actually don't wear G-suits, because the constant inflation/deflation of the suit can cause the pilot's arm holding the stick to move slightly and affect the flight of the jet.
Dennis Quaid is awesome
When he said he could have been either Duke - Eisen should have said, "Even Daisy?"
LOVE Dennis Quaid!!

The first movie I watched and knew it was Dennis Quaid was Dreamscape and then Enemy Mine. Afterwards, I rented the Right Stuff.
Undercover Blues is my favorite Dennis Quaid vehicle; The Rookie is my second favorite.
Luv Dennis...and his poor brother.
Breaking Away is one of my favorite movies.
Dennis Quaid has always been convincing in roles of an athlete or former athlete.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview
Any Given Sunday was a great movie and I remember seeing it in a theatre.
Great interview
Breaking Away is a fantastic movie
Favorite actors, Duval #1 for me, Quaid 1a. I really have enjoyed his recent films.
Great episode!
Most people don’t like The Missouri Breaks, if they even know about it, but I like it. Nicholson and Brando were next door neighbors for decades and only did one movie together. The Last Detail is a great movie, I like it so much I own the Blu-ray.
I worked with him 20 years ago. Nice guy.
Cool stories, have long enjoyed his work.
Great interview!!!
Super cool part of the interview
Love this guy
Great stories!
Any Given Sunday is one of the greatest sports movies.
One of my favourite movies of ALL time. The editing so raw, so cool.
It’s not perfect, but I love Stone’s ambition.. He’s a brilliant filmmaker, and it’s a very very good movie..
I found it to be too much sensory overload. Had a hard time watching it.
Love seeing a puppy dog on the set.
Any Given Sunday is my favorite football movie
Enemy Mind was always a favorite.
Great segment
"I've never been able to find myself." - Dennis Quaid
those dog movies were good too
“Any Given Sunday” is an excellent film.
"Any Given Sunday"

@@chrisweidner4768 It was just a very small case fyi.
One of my favorite movies is a stinker called The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia with Kristy McNichol and Mark Hammill .
It's a favorite of mine . I love how Kristy ruined his plans for a 3way when she asked if he got HIS shots for a nasty little "infection" he got .

Damn Dennis! PJ Soles! Meg Ryan! Knockin boots with the best of them!
Get Innerspace 2 in production. ❤️ childhood was hooked to that film
Does Dennis have a wonky eye???

The Long Riders
Enemy Mine
The Rookie was the best ever movie.

Dennis is great......first time i've watched him in a lengthy innterview,......Dennis, tell Randy i said Hi....😅...!!
Dan Marino likes to be in movies and around movies. He was in Ace Ventura, Bad Boys 2 and another one I cant thinknof

His brother Randy is a legend for exposing Hollywood.
He was talking about golf and he thought he was talking about playing football lol

Such a shame to see a guy like this turn to treason.
I love Dennis and I love this video but 'The Longest Yard' with Burt Reynolds from 1974 is the best football film of all time.
🙂
Buddy Holly and Randy Rhoads were in V-tail Bonanzas when they both crashed.
I was today years old when I learnd that Dennis Quaid was marrid to PJ Soles. I had a massive crush on her back in the day.
Now he is with someone 40 years younger lol
Cap Rooney......my favorite football movie ever
5:40 Chuck Yeager was as great and daring a flyer as you'd ever find. Test pilot level 1000! o
UFO Messiah always trash talked Chuck because Chuck crashed that one experimental plane . And he said Scott Crossfield broke the speed barrier first .
That’s a dog on the floor !
Can we get an Any Given Sunday II in 2024?
Is this really what this dude STILL looks like?!?
Who is the best? You’re looking at him!
