We love the little machines. I just got a couple of HP T530 to mess with today. They were $13 each with No HDD or memory. They are fanless units. I need to deploy them at customer sites to monitor the equipment I support. I'll put a Teamviewer clone on them so I can check logs and make program changes as needed. Just need something cheap to save the 2 hour drive 5-6 times a year for minor changes. I am waiting on a proper power supply. They use a 4.5mm x 3mm connector and I haven't any of the sort. Cool video.

@@walkman1269 thanks. I do have a video on the t630. I have a t520, might show up on the future. The fan less are fun.

@@handmedowntech I went back and watched that one. The t530 case is shaped different but has very similar latches. It has rounded corners instead. It uses ONLY SATA M.2 and has AMD too. The Power is weird though.

I agree on picking the Elitedesk over the Lenovo on that generation, as you mentioned in another video, the prices will be about the same, and the extra storage flexibility makes a big difference. Those of us using these machines are a combination of professionals making the best use of space and resources and hobbyists who just get a kick out of the little boxes, either way even if you have no intention of using more than a single drive on one of these right now, having the option for a second in the future is a big difference.
There are Mini PCIE SSD drivers that should work in the Lenovo Wi-Fi slot, but in my experience, those drives tend to be expensive and finicky.

@@cecilb7927 I think I found one of those drives but it was only 16 or 32gb. Not too useful. And I also agree it's good to have as much flexibility. One of the major reasons I insist on drive caddies. I also prefer units with wifi, even though I rarely use it... you never know what the future holds.

Try the next gen Lenovo with the 8th gen i7 Intel chip and PCIe slot, get a riser (from your favourite Chinese marketplace), put in a low profile single height 3050 GPU, make sure there is at least 2x16 GB of decently fast RAM, drill a big hole and cover with mesh, and upgrade the power brick to 130 watt from 90 watts. It makes for a decent low-power gaming rig, not great but it is a 1 litre box. Or a very good Jellyfin box...

Wow, quite a mod. I'm assuming either you've done if or seen it done?
