Seeing and hearing Justin's extremely distinct bass line live in HD is something incredible, but Danny is the one that always made everyone listen on repeat for hours.

I first saw Tool at Lalapalozza in 1993 just before they hit superstardome. Tool didn't play the main stage yet. They played in the middle of the day. Maynard was friendly and joking around with the audience.
I love tool. I saw them for the first time when I was like 14. Now I am 40 and I saw Tool in 2024 in Dallas .. this music has carried me and been alongside me for most of the most meaningful moments in my life. Thank you for bringing truly good music to the world
I was at this show. This was my first time seeing TOOL live. I have been wanting to see them live since I was 14, I am 28 now and both my inner teen and outer adult were so happy.
I've seen them on the floor super close, and I've seen them in the nose bleeds. I actually prefer the nose bleeds because you can see all the lights and visuals going with the music. Both are totally bad ass though.
No matter where you’re sitting, these guys are crazy good live. Floor of course is better 😂However lower level or even upper level isn’t bad cause you get to take in the visual aspect of the show which is insane. Either way you’re blown away 🤘

5:55 is an amazing moment. That is the reason why they sound like they sound. They are facing each other, listening and responding to what the others are doing. In the rare clear footages we get from concerts, this one is quite epic. It seems like they are just jamming looking at each other to establish communication while playing. That is also why it's of paramount importance for a band to look at each other while playing. You can get the visual clues and mommentum of when the sh*t 's about to go down to some epic wormhole. Doing this bit at this speed it's not particularly easy. These guys are just gigantic musicians.

I always appreciate when a band doesn’t play a song the same as you hear it on the record. Not only does it show their musical flexibility and coordination, but as a listener it’s giving me a version of a song I love that I couldn’t hear anywhere else. Led Zeppelin was famous for that, I don’t think they ever played a song the same way twice from gig to gig. Every audience got something different everytime, even if they had already seen Zeppelin numerous times before. Given that Zeppelin is a clear influence for Tool, evidenced by them completely reimagining Zeppelin’s No Quarter, it would make sense that Tool doesn’t play a song live exactly as they recorded it. I wish more bands would take the time to give their audience more than just the same songs the same way over and over.

Given that Zeppelin is a clear influence for Tool, evidenced by them completely reimagining Zeppelin’s No Quarter, it would make sense that Tool doesn’t play a song live exactly as they recorded it. I wish more bands would take the time to give their audience more than just the same songs the same way over and over.
