I believe the main reason why this song is so touching is because it has a really, really profound message. It conveys an archaic, deeply spiritual, universal truth about this world and life itself.
Tool was awespme live but not the musical experience of my life but a close second, i seen Down in 1995 with the young unapologetic Phil Anselmo and that was a experience of a lifetime, but its just opinionated so rokk on man-
Having seen tool live in machester recently to hear all lateralus live front row would be a top life experience. Its the most popular album for a reason, humanist anthem/ hymn
Yeah it's kind of funny, Justin Chancellor went from looking like the resident metalhead that tells everyone when it's time to open up the pit during the 10,000 Days tours to a tenured college philosophy professor.
So many bands don't sound as good live. But Tool sounds incredible live. They perform very similar to the studio quality, and Maynard James Keenan's voice sounds so mystical in real life.
Tool concerts are not concerts. They are experiences. I am glad I got to see them live, and to get to meet Maynard. Totally shy, quiet reserved gentleman.
Saw them in Knoxville, October '21 first time seeing them live. I'm from Atlanta, Ga and they hardly ever come to the southeast and Knoxville was as close as I was going to get so got a hotel and it was everything I hoped for, this and Lateralus were the only ones I really missed, but they did The Grudge, and Invincible, they mixed it up well, life changing forsure
I was shocked when I saw them in '17 at how much better he sounded and even more so how much more effort he was putting in. Late 00's it seemed like he was done trying to sing any of his difficult parts live and was obviously having them mix him pretty low.
Kurde.. ta kapela gra juz tyle lat A ich muzyka i jak grają sie nie zmienia. To jest cały czas czad i potęga. Młodzi rockmani..słuchajcie i uczucie sie od nich....
I've had the absolute gift of seeing this performed live 3 times. When the eye reaches the top, I can't even explain the absolute goose bumps and energy coursing through my body. There is no other musical experience that even comes close to this. Truly a spiritual moment. Feel so blessed to live in a time to experience Tool
Maynard was actually visible the entire show and even came to the front for one or two songs. Not the front front, but was closer to the edge than Danny. Parabola, Aenema, 46n2... They killed all of it. Best show of my life.
Dany Carey, one of the greatest drummers the world has ever seen. Right in a league with Bozo and Keith Moon. Absolutely amazing performance. Please watch him play pneuma on Vic firth drums...
@@tombiby5892 Nah man, Dany Carey is one of if not the greatest around. Yes it's true that John Bonham was likely the greatest that ever Carey and Moon etc are very close.
They're sounding better than ever! Maynard's voice is actually sounding better than it did during the Lateralus era, possibly. It went through many rough years but somehow he has learned to use his new voice to an advantage. I love the way he has changed the way he sings the songs to match his deeper voice. I think I almost like these new versions better than the originals. The whole band is so tight too. Wish I could have caught them this time around. I really hope they will put out a live album from this tour.
i completely disagree, he doesn't sound nowhere near the way he was sounding in the 90s to 2005-6-7. I do like this new trippy thin mixed-voice but you can hear that he struggles to hit the right pitch and sometimes he goes a bit flat.
I’m wondering how he is going to sound post Covid. I’m seeing them in November. I think they have played since, but I know his lungs were damaged from the virus.
@@CymanytbI have to agree. I’m in love w him no matter what. But he doesn’t sound the same as 1993 Tool/Perfect Circle. That’s what I initially fell in love with, his voice and the curious videos that played on MTV made him even more mysterious lol
I’m having major spine surgery tomorrow and this has been my anthem for the previous three. The music video for this song is amazing, hearing it or seeing that video is instant tears, but if I’m able to recover in time and possibly, just possibly see them this Fall…. I’m already crying thinking about the insane off-chance they’ll play this again.
@@SlayerDUDE1993 Yes, Im doing well considering everything. Not moving around at full speed yet, can’t lift anything really and permanently less flexible in the midsection area but I can stand up straight without screaming sciatic pain, so that’s something.

this song is actually a million times better live. i'd actually say it's a struggle to find a live recording that doesn't make the recording look like a punk by comparison.
I don't understand how this video has only 388 likes. It's in my rotation at least 3-5x a day. Do people not have good audio equipment to handle live recordings? This is excellent on my Bose speakers and Galaxy Buds. Not to mention the video is more than acceptable.

Wide eyed and hopefully wild
We barely remember what came before this precious moment
Choosing to be here right now
Hold on, stay inside
This body, holding me
Reminding me that I am not alone in
This body, makes me feel eternal
All this pain is an illusion
We barely remember
Who or what came before this precious moment
We are choosing to be here, right now
Hold on, stay inside
This holy reality
This holy experience
Choosing to be here in
This body, this body holding me
Be my reminder here that I am not alone in
This body, this body holding me
Feeling eternal, all this pain is an illusion
Alive
In this holy reality
In this holy experience
Choosing to be here in
This body, this body holding me
Be my reminder here that I am not alone in
This body, this body holding me
Feeling eternal, all this pain is an illusion
Twirling 'round with this familiar parable
Spinning, weaving 'round each new experience
Recognize this as a holy gift and
Celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing
A chance to be alive and breathing
This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality
Embrace this moment, remember
We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion
Outstanding!
