    Whew! This one took me a couple of days. I appreciate the time you take to let the earth speak for itself with a shot of a leaf in the breeze, or water moving in a river. We can feel you mean it when you say you are, “…infinitely blessed to wander upon it.” That being said, I agree nature seemed to know that your “sacrifice to metal” was not for her. I thought it was for Betty’s metal. Some non-Canadian lyrics in your music choices this time. Good to see you branching out. With such vastness those drone shots are everything, keep them coming! I have to say I wasn’t originally a fan of Betty’s yellow color, but now I see you chose it to match both your beanies and the colors of the changing leaves. Very clever of you! I loved the way Meg whispered the word “cheese” when speaking of her cheese pockets. It’s like she has such a special secret! Finally, I don’t know how you get a better birthday cake than Saper(?) Hill! The violins matched it perfectly. Fantastic! Another beautiful video. Thanks for taking us along!

    • @SlowRoamers
      @SlowRoamers  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, it’s a long one, but the Dempster is deserving of a looong form video. It does seem like rain has been chasing us everywhere and we can’t seem to escape it. I don’t think I could even come close to showing an area in a fitting way without the drone, it’s such an invaluable tool. I think cheese is a sacred food, so it requires a silent respect.🤣 Sapper “Hill” was such a good birthday hike, oh my goodness, it was sooo good. Thanks for watching you two, safe travels!✌🏼

    My wife and I have been watching your videos for a couple of weeks now and have enjoyed them. There's quite a few content creators doing these van life videos and Alaska/Yukon/BC seems to be popular. We live in BC and I'd love to do something like this some day before I'm too old 😂. Of the lot putting out this content you are some of our favorites. Great narration and introspective on the world around you, and drone shots are great and have really transformed what's possible for viewing the environment. LOL, that word you are thinking of is lutefisk. Even I won't eat it and I'm Norwegian. That was a really pretty trip, only been up the Dempster a little bit. I borrowed a turbo Neon in Dawson and drove it up there as far as it would go on half a tank after I filled it up at the corner. Which turned out to be quite a ways. Cheers, and safe travels to the land of fire. And HPBD!

    Marvelous! In those latitudes, the lights are up 300 nights per year. The trouble is: "Land of the Midnight Sun". I would go out on winter nights to a dip between hills near our construction camp to watch to the Aurora Borealis. The hills screened the light from our camp. I parked my truck just behind the hilltop so I wouldn't see the 4 way flashers. I would lie down on the road and I didn't want someone to run over me. I lay down because the lights washing across the sky would overwhelm my balance and make me stagger. I always watched alone. No distractions!

I'm heading up from Nova Scotia for the month of October, I'll be out at least 1000. 😬😬 it was actually something like $800, I forgot to mention the actual total at the end. But I totally agree, Canada could be refining its own fuel which would create so many jobs and strengthen then nation….BUT, multinationals got to that early in the game and they’re dug in now. It’s just the way of things. We’ve actually seen as low as 1.56/L in eastern BC on our way down which isn’t horrible.

    I love your video's, and will continue to watch. However, I hate the "upcoming" notifications. I want to be notified that a new video is available to watch not that one is "upcoming" in three, five or whatever days. It's like being a kid at Christmas running into the living room to see what Santa left you for presents and then being told you have to wait till the family comes over to open them, much later in the day. 🤨

      We don’t often do Premiere’s, this Saturdays video is the start of the official Pan American series and our first feature length film. The premiere feature helps it get a little traction before it releases. Otherwise, you can always expect to see our videos release at 9am on Saturday morning. Thanks for watching, see you Saturday!
