Listening to Kate and Leisha speak their truths… priceless. I laughed so hard it was just amazing to hear they felt the same as the fans. Only they felt it worse. Any amount of Tina and Bette would be amazing. Let’s face it, we want the OG’s with new storylines. A couple of the GenQ’s but mainly? The OG’s just years later. 😊
I think they need to pretend that Gen Q didn't exist. They should pick up where Season 6 of the original show left off. Bette and Tina move to New York. I love Alice having a talk show, that could be based in New York as well. Shane could have opened a salon in New York. Kit could move to NY as she missed her family. They could add new characters in that would work with them, with Alice's show and Shane's salon, etc. There is so much potential. They definitely need to follow a timeline and have excellent storylines for the characters.
What I would like to see in L-Word NY? GenQ has to be a bad dream, I would love to have Kit back. A solid Bette and Tina story. Lots of GOOD new characters and several storylines with many of the OG. Let Alice and Shane be well functioning human beings. Seeing a tight knit NY gay community would be wonderful. A throwback to the bond the characters had on the original show. I could go on forever, I think I'll stop now.
Excellent video, Ash. Let's face it, Ash. Everyone, including Ilene, the actors, producers and the fans, knew the OG worked like a fine-tuned machine until S6. When they bring it back, they should, IMO, begin at the end of S5 when Tina announced that she was moving to New York, and start with the wedding that they all wanted to give us. These scenes will be like flashbacks. Then, they'll have Angie attending university in New York, Alice has her talk show, Shane has salons all over the city. Once-in-a-while, they'll return to LA to visit Kit, Helena, et al. Guest stars: Tasha, Carrie, Finley, Carmen, Molly. The new show will be filmed in Vancouver because they had a ball there and it was less expensive. Donna
This seems to make the most sense, but my dream is to have more of Tasha and also to have Dana, Kit, Helena, and Carmen to return. Add some other folks from the OG like Lara who could be a preeminent chef in NY now. Add some cameos from Peggy Peabody and others that were in fewer eps.

They basically had her in ep 310 & one small scene in ep 309 - infuriating. Esp as what else were they doing with Alice? Nothing, I love Joey Lauren Adams but they wasted her too! She was in like two episodes! I’m sure people would have way preferred having Tasha all of season three instead of throwing her in at the end. Hopefully Tasha heads to NY!

Oof when Leisha said the idea of season 4 of GenQ made her die a little inside. 😅 I mean, we all guessed that things weren’t exactly great but wow they were just as miserable playing their roles as we were watching the season unfold. They’ve been dropping little hints on that podcast for a while about the incompetence of TPTB behind GenQ but they really let loose this time lol. Good for them, it must be therapeutic to get to be honest about it now. As far as TLWNY, if it’s possible, I’d love for them to pretend GenQ never happened. I almost feel like acknowledging it in anyway would bring terrible vibes, and we all need a fresh start from that dumpster fire. Now if they can also manage to do that AND cast Sepi and Ari as brand new characters, I would be in heaven! 😂 Thanks for another great video!
Great update Ash, nice to be chatting about the L Word again. For this to work they have to leave anything, and anyone associated to GenQ. out. No disrespsct to the actors, but GenQ. was such a train wreck, it just has too many emotional bad memories for everyone. The disrespect they showed to the OG's, and there much loved characters was unforgiveable.

I would love to see Kit come back. Bette and Kit relationship were a big part of the show. I obviously would love Gigi and Dani to be included in the show and more young characters. I just can’t imagine JB not being involved after everything that happened. I mean JB & IC took everything with GQ & TLWNY in to their own hands so I think it would be wild she isn’t in it. LH is different of course with her successful art career. I think they will work around it, maybe Bette & Tina aren’t in every ep, Tina could be working in Canada, I’m sure they’ll figure it out because they know what happened to Gen Q when Bette, Tina & Gigi weren’t on it! No more Tina and Bette. These women are retired from this story. They should be allowed to live in infamy. Jennifer Beales just out performed real lesbians and had the fans and whole cast looking at her in disbelief. She took lesbianism to a level even lesbians can't reach, and all without a sliver of nudity and ALL while being a heterosexual woman. Those kissing scenes will never be outdone by women or men. And that's just one of the reasons this woman captivated that whole show. The rest is the magic of her being. As well as the cast of original 6 episodes. If Ilene Chaiken does not meet the quality of her first 6 seasons going forward, then she will deserve the wrath of a legion of angry lesbians around the globe. Especially since she is a lesbian herself.
Thing is, time passes and people age. The new shows should be created to appeal to younger viewers which means new and younger characters like original seasons 1 thru 6 introduced us to. People who can ACT and not just go thru the motions of completing a scene because of a clock. Which seemed to be the formula of the tragic Q cast. Sepidah was the only newbie that was legitimate and I would love seeing her in other movies and vehicles. Strong actress!
I know some people diss Kate/Leisha but in OG they were the dearest of friends, always looking out for each other; the whole group. And Leisha comedic, but the hospital scene is one of the best acting scenes in the series. Underutilized in GenQ
Enjoyed the video Ash❤ So IMO, As I have said before episode one scene one of the LWord NY, Bette waKES up in bed in NY, Turning to Tina and says you will not believe the dream/nightmare I had last night all of us were on this bus driven by this deranged bus driver…😂😂 And from there they can pick up where they left off before GenQ, But Bette and Tina would be happily married.. That way we could have all the OG cast back that we all loved who are willing to come back again… But IMO, Bette and Tina were the reason the show succeeded because even how horrible Gen Q was, they were the only reason that most people were hanging on until that last episode…❤ It could never be the L word without the two of them in it, it would never be the same they ARE the LWORD❤️ I know this reboot this time around will be great if they are both in it and all of our favorites are back as well❤
I like the idea of S6 not happening. The only thing it leaves open is Bette and Tina’s engagement , but I guess that can be written into the storyline Would also love to see Kit in NY in her element at a club like she was in LA. She’s a great entertainer.

One of your best videos yet Ash ; thank you 😊 Would love to see many of the original cast in the L Word New York - obviously Bette & Tina, Alice, Shane, Tasha and Helena in some form or another . Interesting idea to have the new show be a prequel to the original, but that puts a huge pressure to perform on what would have to be a new cast of relatively unknown actors . Additionally, I’m very reticent about the writers -please let’s have absolutely none of the Gen Q writers ; they basically assassinated the OG characters one by one by paring away any charisma and vibrancy. Additionally, they gave the OGs no believable story lines rendering it impossible for any interesting character development. It was like watching that episode on Roar called “ The woman who disappeared” the characters became more and more transparent , Alice and Shane were pretty much one dimensional by episode 10 No wonder Leisha and Kate were relieved that season 4 is a no go . If God is listening please have Ilene Chaiken super involved in the new show ; whether as the show runner or some other pivotal role. Hopefully L Word New York will have loosely developed character arcs in place before filming as well as most of the story lines already set up as opposed to the “ fly by the seat of their pants” lack lustre approach exhibited by Gen. Q writers 🥴 Ideally we’ll have lots of episodes to watch in each season thereby giving us many thought provoking stories and believable characters to enjoy . Hoping for a minimum of 15+ episodes to digest, rewind and rejoice over ; not a paltry 8-10. I agree any potential writers for this new show should be required to watch all the original episodes in each and every season of the L Word. How about having them complete and pass a multiple choice test (provided by Ash) with a score of 90% required prior to hiring ? 👍 Anyway so looking forward to hearing what you can glean through the grapevine in the coming months. As Ilene Bette and Tina said, it wasn't an end for the characters, they left it open to proceed. ilene, jennifer, laurel know that the Fans weren't so pleased with these stories, so I believe that's why ilene mentioned in the interview of Bette and Tina being grandparents, it would be a sequel.
I think we should act like GenQ didn't happen at all & start with Bette & Tina's wedding, so it's done properly. It was so wrong how they wrote that episode. It should have been more about Bette, Tina & Angie with close friends & bringing back the OG's for it. Just my opinion. I love your videos. Thanks for sharing them with us
Well, let's spill the tea: if Sepideh is not back and we are not getting Gigi and Dani together, then I couldn't care less about this reboot. I mean, no disrespect for the original cast, I am a 37yrs old and love them, but I need The L Word to correct the dirty they did to Sepideh (the real star of Gen Q) and to us fans. Also, I think Alice and Shane could be back, maybe Helena and Carmem as well, but I really would like to see a fair share of screentime between the old and the new characters this time, IMO it was terrible to had the 4 core on Gen Q because it prevented new and good stories like "Gini" to be developed deeper! And let's be honest, everyone was thirsty for them.
Yes, I agree, I love the OG cast and don’t think the show would be the same without them - but at the same time, there needs to be a balance with some younger characters.
Ash, you nailed it as usual! I loved the original but for me the Gen Q was a waste; very little Bette and Tina, characters who were useless, fragmented stories, and a big let-down with the shortened wedding! Thanks for your hard work! 😊
Happy to see this video - it gives us some hope. I was laughing through my drive home listening to the last podcast and Kate's n Leisha's thought - while i also felt bad. Kate said it, her character has become unrecognisable sort of mid way through season 3 (actually i think even Tess has become unrecognisable). Anyway, glad they are able to "air" some of their feelings now. Wonder how that works contractually. Anyway...btw, I didn't dislike season 2 at all, it's the end and that cliff hanger i disliked and well season 3 was going downhill from the first scene. Really looking forward to how they work out LWNY - i want it still to be a mix of the OG and GenQ. How will they do it? Let's hope they have some great ideas and great writers on it. Talking about writers, Kate and Leisha did also mention that they felt like the strike would go on till next year - sigh!! But good writing needs good pay, so 👊✊ more power to them. I'm happy to patiently wait, as long as I get something good. ❤ What do I want? A solid story line for Shane and Alice. Not an obsessive focus on Bette and Tina. No, don't want Dana in any capacity - can't be a reboot if they bring back the dead. 🤞 for a return of Carmen or Molly. It would be a really lovely surprise for some of the OG's to return! Even Jenny, she was one of the very experienced actor. I will stick to my opinion. Think about how the audience liked to hate her. My thoughts on how L Word NY should go: I would like Jenny to wake up in a mental institute after being in a coma for 20 yrs. After a failed suicide attempt in which she jumped into Bette and Tina’s pool. Only to discover she’s dreamt all of Gen Q. Now she’s on a mission to rediscover her friends and identity because of course, she has amnesia. Jenny Schetter POV pulls us into the world of L Word NY. In which she is a fish out of water yet again. She enrolls in a NYU adult writing course and has a tryst with her professor. It’s while she’s in this class she starts to write a noir mystery about a mysterious character named Marina and and gumshoe detective named Shane. Boom! Pitch it.

I'd like to see Gigi and Dani from GenQ (I can do without any other cast members from GenQ). I would like all the OGs back including Carmen, Helena, and Dana (They can say her death was a fever dream or any explanation will do after what we witnessed in GenQ lol). I would like Shane's character to understand what an open relationship is lol. As this was one of the worst lines in GenQ.
I hope it's continuing with Bette and Tina in New York and the other casts from the original. Ilene said in her interview : wouldn't you like to see Bette and Tina become Grandmothers, I think it was a hint of what she could do. As much as they did Bette and Tina's wedding it wasn't a good story they gave us either as a couple or as a family, we had practically nothing from TiBette. Alice and Shane also didn't get their stories that they should have, so what everyone is interested in is the sequel and not the backstory before the original.
No one mentioned the jenny character. I'd like that last episode to be Jenny writing about her own death, but she's alive. And of course I'd like a new character portrayed by erin Daniels, who was my favorite. Finally, bring back carmen, helena, leia's mom & peggy.
Her and Marina were my favorites from episode one. I was sad to see her character go downhill. She was typecast after that so I wonder if she would return.
What were they thinking when they hired marja. She should never be let near a show again. She purposely corrected what she thought the show got wrong...there was literally 5 minutes of OGs in each episode. Shane was unrecognisable and she pretty much promoted trans people where marja made sure the audience knew the l word was a trans show...it was far from a reboot. Hope illene gets new york right. As gen q went down like a lead balloon. If I was illene chaiken I would be so mad for trying to correct her work...I wanna forget gen q ever existed. Bring back all the OGs and Kit and Dana

They definitely need to “bring back” Sarah Shahi as Carmen ,,,,a reconciliation would prove dynamite! The actors have great chemistry and are imminently believable. Deleting Gen Q, or keeping the wedding and start with Bette and Tina's new lives and blend Alice Shane and Helena back into their lives. They made the OG. I wish Kit could come out of Witness protection or something like that. She and Sonny. Bringing Peggy and Dylan as well. I know I want the original cast and storylines back but who doesn't? I think they should forget about generation Q. Act like it never happened. Have the originals moved to New York after Jenny died and make it be so many years later. Let Tasha and Alice be married and have kids same with Bette and Tina. Then have Shane and Carmen reunite.

I understand what you’re saying. No one asked us to be included with the tia+ crowd. I have absolutely nothing against trans people, but I do strongly disagree with “grooming” children to convince them they are trans & also men competing in women’s sports.
I think Shane is the most interesting character out of everyone (Finlay and Alice a close second).... I don't get the obsession with Bette and Tina. Only thing I hated about Shane on season 3 was Shane's flat hair... she's a hair dresser!!!! Bring back Finlay!!!!
Hmm, was it in the OG Season 5 or 6 that Tina got a potential job offer in NY? I say go even further with deleting stuff - do a time cut from the end of Season 5 and pretend neither Season 6 or Gen Q ever happened 😆 They messed up with killing off Dana so I'm not sure how they could bring her back, but to have Kit and even Jenny back would be interesting. Bette/Tina - easy enough to have them working at museum, production studio in NY; Angie transferred to a NY university Kit - musical artist in NY Shane - I suppose they could keep Shane's Gen Q career the same (she had a NY salon right?) - maybe Carmen has found her way to NY and runs into Shane and we get a season of tension as they repair their relationship or at least give her some type of stable relationship or make her non-monogamous. Alice - she has a TV show in NY - I think she and Tasha were together at end of OG series - would love to see Papi come for a visit Helena and Peggy Peabody are already there in NY Jenny - if Season 6 never happened, then she wasn't killed off and they didn't officially ruin her and Shane's friendship beyond repair; maybe try to redeem her character a little bit Gen Q - I wonder how disorienting it would be to have some of the Gen Q actors playing completely different roles or even their same characters, but like Gen Q never happened - Having Gigi interact with the group when she's in town for a real estate event or something. 😆
Tina, Bette, Dani, Gigi, Helena, Carmen, Alice, Shane, Papi, they’re who I really want back. Dana, Kit and Jenny if they can come back from the dead. Jordane Hull is cute and I love her, but bring back Olivia Windbiel as Angelica, please, as she really looks like both Tina and Bette mix now as an adult and she is the original baby Angelica. It would be nice to see who Shay has become and his relationship with Shane.

WHICH ALSO MAKES SENSE WITH THE END OF THE Q GENERATION. BETTE AND TINA WOULD RESTART THEIR LIVES IN ANOTHER PLACE AND IN ANOTHER WAY AFTER THEIR WEDDING VOWS. I THINK IT IS NECESSARY TO KEEP THE STORIES OF LOVE, PASSION, OVERCOME, LEARNINGS, IMPERFECTIONS AND HAPPINESS OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS OF THE ORIGINAL VERSION. AND EACH SEASON SEEKS TO FIND NEW PERSONAGES AND PROFESSIONALS WHO CAN SHARE THEIR STORIES WITH PASSION, CHARISMA, BRILLIANCE AND LOVE. JUST LIKE JENNIFER BEALS, LAUREL, KATE AND LEISHA DO. Like truly to this day, no mainstream show has really captured the feel of a group of gay ladies just... hanging out, living their lives! And it's sad because yknow I see all these other shows with 'representation' but the gay characters just..... have all straight friends??? In my own circles, we call that a red flag LOL! Sure I am privileged to live in a place where there are a lot of queer people around, but like our community is so important to us and to see most shows just ignore it is ridiculous.
Again I think making all of season 6 of the OG and Gen Q be part of one of Jenny’s movie treatment or script. So a really bad fantasy that never happened 😂 then you are open to bring back any character you want, Jenny, Dylan, etc. Bette and Tina’s wedding in NY from the OG that we never got to see without all the chaos from this Gen Q wedding.
I want to see Carmen Pica de la Morales! Make it so her father was Iranian and he abandoned her and she was adopted and raised by a Mexican man. I dunno! Figure it out Ilene! And I wanna see Papi! I know she wasn’t popular but I want Papi!
They can bring back Carmen as a Mexican American on TLWNY. I believe that silly heritage rule only applied to GenQ. And yes, bring back Papi! She is a hoot! (And very believable as a NY character.)
I'd be THRILLED if they turned Jenny's death into a dream, and brought her back. She added LIFE to the show! I love all of the OG cast, but I think Jenny coming back would be incredible

The friendship bn her and Shane is the comedy the show needs, but the OG show was about Lesbians and their drama. It was simple and complex. I hope it does come back. But also how crazy would it be to find Jenny living in NY bc she was in witness protection or something lol.
Definitely would love to have gen q never happen. Bring Kit, Carmen, Peggy, Helena, James all back Our Core Bette, Tina, Alice, Shane Has to be all OG.. or maybe 1 or 2 new characters, for extras but I think unnecessary No gen q characters as that would not make any sense
And Dana. I felt like everyone loved her and there was just a big missing piece since she was the sunshine and I felt like it was too soon to let her go. I would've liked to see Dana and Alice's relationship rebuilt instead of making Alice suffer even more. Maybe Dana could've gotten sick but she battled cancer and then Alice and her build a stronger bond and Dana realizes she loves Alice and what not but one can dream 😔
We wanted writers that at least watched the original. The fact that it wasnt required is insane to me. How can you write for characters you dont know ?
It could be cool to have new actors for like, flashbacks to before the original, and then the original actors are playing out new storylines as a way of showing how these people and community has changed over the past like 20 years. One of the things I really loved about the OG L word was the portrayal of a queer women's friend group and Gen Q really did not hit the same vibe like, at all lol.
The integral part that was lost on the writers was the built in fanbase. A lot of us were super excited in the beginning seeing our L Word OGs however, after S1, the OG crew was less being featured and even worse their characters were being destroyed. Seeing Shane & Alice repeat the same mistakes of their youth was really strange. These women are all 40+ and were being written so childishly. Also, the fans have been demanding ever since the reboot idea came into fruition of getting Carmen back and to see Sarah Shahi be so disrespected by Marja was disgusting. We all understand representation matters, but the whole situation regarding Carmen’s ethnicity could have been easily rectified by making her father (who was never once shown!) Persian. For the L Word NY, I would really like for the writers to start from scratch. Kit is no longer dead. Also, if they are going to bring back any newbies, please let it just be Jordan. She was the only newcomer who shined. I loved all her scenes with her moms and Shane.

The l Word will only have results with the Original characters otherwise it will be another failure if they are going to tell stories before the original this would be with new people it wouldn't be Leisha, Kate, Laurel and Jennifer so I believe it would be like Generation q where they didn't achieve much interest the audience of the original. I probably if it's not Laurel and Jennifer like Bette and Tina I won't watch it, I'd rather leave it as it is.
I want a decent series with Lesbians and bisexual women, only! Not men, not bad tropes, not other politics.... Just a good lez series, like The L Word the Original. We want lesbians who are single/ married/ with kids/with many secret girlfriends, with bad mother in love - who are in love with. We want stories from daily life but with a dose of ''good'' chaos in it. Please 🤞

Ricreare quelle sensazioni dell’originale a dire poco impossibile a meno che … seguano il filo temporale di Bette e Tina che vivono a New York dopo il matrimonio, ma non fate fare loro le nonne!! Vogliamo ancora emozionarci con la loro storia perché non è mai troppo tardi per ingelosirsi , tradirsi ed amarsi nuovamente ! Di certo non le voglio vedere noiose in pantofole sul divano! Sono delle bellissime donne e possono dimostrarci che si può ancora fare se**o , quindi niente nonne perché è una situazione che non ci appartiene! E poi il carattere di Tina dove è andato a finire? Omg I would be loving it if LW NY picks up all the OG's (incl bringing back Kit & others) ....Continue the " family " dynamics in current times of Angie growing up., maybe Even showing the process they All went thru @ the PD interrogations. . Even though Im a Native Cali gyrl I would be fine w NY ~So Im impatiently waiting to see what happens next & hope the writers strike is resolved ASAP😎
We need the OG family back together. Maybe they forgo season 6 of the original and start with Bette and Tina getting married. The GQ disaster was a disgrace! They deserve a beautiful, magical wedding. Then bring the whole gang back. We need Bette & Tina as the main characters (this show revolves around their orbit), Include Angie, Alice, Shane, Kit, Jenny, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Tasha, Dana (bring in Dana's twin). If you want a few of the GQ cast fine. Just have them as tertiary characters (small roles). Alice's show can still have Finley and Sophie. Dani could work with Bette at a gallery? Gigi could fit in somewhere. Rename the GQ folks if necessary. I don't want the entire GQ cast as it's too many characters. If it's an either/or situation, then OG cast ONLY. We need Angela Robinson, Tony Goldwyn, Rose Troche.....OG writers and others from the original. This show needs to pick up where OG ended (with or without season 6 storyline). We NEED Tina's back story or family!! Bette's Mom. Shane needs to settle down with Carmen. More developed storylines, mature content. Not just cheating or cheap sex. I think Ilene needs to be the ShowRunner or be involved. Taping in Vancouver like the old days will be great for the cast. Bring them all together like old times for chemistry!! Let us see them grow their families. Then the next generations can grab the baton for the future.
I gave up on this show it was my favorite show ever I actually loved Jenny and we had one line from Bette that she killed herself as the resolution to the horrible original series finale. Why does it feel she intentionally makes fans hate the characters we grew to love over all these years 😢
I honestly don't care for any GQ characters in the NY, not saying they were bad but they had no chemistry with the OG's really ,story wise it felt like two separate shows. However would love to see Carmen back hopefully Ilene Chaiken forgets all about the non latina stuff she said years ago, also Tasha should be back! and it would be awesome if Jenny maybe in a dream showed her face just like Dana! (or forget about S6 and have her being alive).
I would pick two OGs one genQ cast member and one newbie. We can't have this huge cast for a show that might get ten episodes a season. I'm going into left field here but bare with me. Lol So the two OGs are Alice and Jenny. GenQ was actually a movie that Jenny wrote following Le Girls. So it hilariously and terribly chronicled the lives of her friends again. It was critically panned but was a commercial hit that Jenny is trying to keep a low profile from. I'd have Alice move her show to New York and/or she gets a new gig. I would bring back Dani and have Gigi as a reoccurring character. I would make a fourth character who's a trans lesbian played by MJ Rodriguez. Because we never get that representation! I too would love to read some of the lines that Kate turned down because MY God! By episode ten she must have been so brow beaten over what they did to Shane. That she was just like whatever let's end this. 😂😂😂 Thanks Ash!
i honestly don't care for yet another educational, "politically correct" show trying to tick every box of diversity and orientation, which usually ends up a queer show for straight people rather than unapologetic, nuanced and substancial representation of lesbian day to day. i think the most crucial thing they ultimately need to figure out is what stories they wanna tell and who they can include (from the entire og cast, dead or alive) and stop obsessing over whether or not it would all make sense. given the nonsense Gen q writers have pulled out of a hat, i wouldn't hesitate to disregard or redo anything, specially the wedding if it got to it. what i personally miss is the intricate depth of the original show's story and characters, gen q was a kiddy pool of fast paced shallow events and fire works that had only boom and no light. i'd also love writers who are familiar with actual human communication and dialogue...with everything said, i don't really have much hope for something raw, honest and original to coming out of this all, seeing what's being done with other reboots like the new "queer as folk" or "sex and the city" but i'd love to be proven wrong here.
I have extremely unpopular opinions about all of this. I'd honestly be happy for Tibette to move out of the picture. I have no interest in their relationship. It's toxic. I actually wanted to see Tina with Carrie, and they really messed that all up. My favorite characters are Shane and Alice, and they are the reason I watch. If they aren't in NY, I'm not sure how interested I will be. Also, these women are in their 40s and 50s now. As someone in her 40s, I can say that the characters SHOULD be different people now. They SHOULD have GROWN and will hopefully be better versions of themselves. I feel where Gen Q missed the mark was that it kept flip flopping on whether or not the characters were growing as people. And that was very frustrating to watch.
I think there is a time between the ending of the original and the beginning of Gen Q that they will do the show in and not just brush over their lives but we can actually see what happened.

I watched the L Word from the beginning. Some of my disappointment with the series was the rampant cheating and bed hopping. There’s nothing wrong with lesbians being faithful. My hope for L Word NY would be for Tess and Shane to get back together, Alice finds her soul mate, Bette and Tina continue their happy ever after and GiGi and Dani are in the series.
Whoever gave the show to marja should pay for their crimes not marja. They should of known whar marja was going to do to the show. She made it too woke. Think thats what killed the show. Not all lgbtq people like the wokeness and identity crisis people have.
I’ve been out of the loop on this show. I watched the original even when it wasn’t good anymore. I think I watched one episode of the Q thing and noped right out. It was pure cringe and I was embarrassed for them. I’m so out of the loop that I didn’t know it was a different showrunner. I will probably watch LWNY to see how it goes.
You dodged a lot of frustration and embarrassment, actually, by not watching GenQ. I was thrilled for the reboot and kept watching hoping it would get better. Instead, it got worse. TLWNY surely will be better with lessons learned and with Ilene Chaiken playing a stronger role in its development. Here’s hoping….
I’d like to see them acknowledge Gen Q storylines which would allow for character crossover but move a couple of years into the future to resolve some of Marja’s wreckage. I think doing a “prequel” to the original show is a bad idea. Most of us, particularly those who have been watching it since the beginning, are too invested in the actors. Where to deviate- Characterization- closer to how they were in the OG. Bring back the humor. Also. Slow the fuck down- Goodbye to unnecessary breakups before a storyline ever truly develops. Bring back Max. Bring back Helena. Bring back Shay. Acknowledge Jenny’s death (I wouldn’t be opposed to pretending it never happened, to be honest. Bring back GG. Bring back Dani. Bring back Carrie. Slowly, but surely, weave back Finley and Tess, and find writers who can write.
Anywhere Bette, Shane, and Alice go...I go! I have to say that I am within the minority who never really cared for Tina, but she was never a deal breaker. NY show please please PLEASE have Tasha back! Highlight of the final season on Gen Q was seeing her again. Would love to see Gigi in NY, she'd kill it! And I actually found Dani's longtime friend to be a steamy addition. As for the other cast members, while I developed some attachment, I cannot continue to root for the chaos that was seen on screen. It did not make for great TV. Now...Jacqueline Toboni. I just binged watched Grimm and found her acting chops so much stronger on that show. I say all that to say that the remaining actors, particularly Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Leo Sheng, Jillian Mercado, and Jamie Clayton, I remain interested in seeing them in other roles and hope that they are able to show up and show out!!! I did see Arienne Mandi in a Hallmark movie and she did well although the movie itself was a snoozer.
Disagree with you on Tina, but that’s okay. I do agree that Finley (Jaqueline Tobani) is a much better actor than she appeared to be on GenQ. The writing/Directing was so bad that it put her in a bad light. Given a new character or better material I think she could really shine.
Ilene has EPed many other shows post OG L-Word and never cast anyone from the L-Word until Gen Q. So maybe they are just having a nice weekend at her house. Also, due to the writers strike, it might last a whole year and L-Word NY is a long shot with Showtime. I don’t trust the network especially since they barely did any advertising for the Gen Q and it’s folded into Paramount that didn’t pick up pilots and newer series got cancelled.
Listening to Kate and Leisha speak their truths… priceless. I laughed so hard it was just amazing to hear they felt the same as the fans. Only they felt it worse. Any amount of Tina and Bette would be amazing. Let’s face it, we want the OG’s with new storylines. A couple of the GenQ’s but mainly? The OG’s just years later. 😊

I think they need to pretend that Gen Q didn't exist. They should pick up where Season 6 of the original show left off. Bette and Tina move to New York. I love Alice having a talk show, that could be based in New York as well. Shane could have opened a salon in New York. Kit could move to NY as she missed her family. They could add new characters in that would work with them, with Alice's show and Shane's salon, etc. There is so much potential. They definitely need to follow a timeline and have excellent storylines for the characters.

Excellent video, Ash. Let's face it, Ash. Everyone, including Ilene, the actors, producers and the fans, knew the OG worked like a fine-tuned machine until S6. When they bring it back, they should, IMO, begin at the end of S5 when Tina announced that she was moving to New York, and start with the wedding that they all wanted to give us. These scenes will be like flashbacks. Then, they'll have Angie attending university in New York, Alice has her talk show, Shane has salons all over the city. Once-in-a-while, they'll return to LA to visit Kit, Helena, et al. Guest stars: Tasha, Carrie, Finley, Carmen, Molly. The new show will be filmed in Vancouver because they had a ball there and it was less expensive.

This seems to make the most sense, but my dream is to have more of Tasha and also to have Dana, Kit, Helena, and Carmen to return. Add some other folks from the OG like Lara who could be a preeminent chef in NY now. Add some cameos from Peggy Peabody and others that were in fewer eps.

She was in like two episodes! I’m sure people would have way preferred having Tasha all of season three instead of throwing her in at the end. Hopefully Tasha heads to NY!

Oof when Leisha said the idea of season 4 of GenQ made her die a little inside. 😅 I mean, we all guessed that things weren’t exactly great but wow they were just as miserable playing their roles as we were watching the season unfold. They’ve been dropping little hints on that podcast for a while about the incompetence of TPTB behind GenQ but they really let loose this time lol. Good for them, it must be therapeutic to get to be honest about it now. As far as TLWNY, if it’s possible, I’d love for them to pretend GenQ never happened. I almost feel like acknowledging it in anyway would bring terrible vibes, and we all need a fresh start from that dumpster fire. No disrespsct to the actors, but GenQ. was such a train wreck, it just has too many emotional bad memories for everyone. No more Tina and Bette. These women are retired from this story. They should be allowed to live in infamy. Jennifer Beales just out performed real lesbians and had the fans and whole cast looking at her in disbelief. She took lesbianism to a level even lesbians can't reach, and all without a sliver of nudity and ALL while being a heterosexual woman. Those kissing scenes will never be outdone by women or men. And that's just one of the reasons this woman captivated that whole show. The rest is the magic of her being. As well as the cast of original 6 episodes. If Ilene Chaiken does not meet the quality of her first 6 seasons going forward, then she will deserve the wrath of a legion of angry lesbians around the globe. Especially since she is a lesbian herself.
Thing is, time passes and people age. The new shows should be created to appeal to younger viewers which means new and younger characters like original seasons 1 thru 6 introduced us to. People who can ACT and not just go thru the motions of completing a scene because of a clock. Which seemed to be the formula of the tragic Q cast. Sepidah was the only newbie that was legitimate and I would love seeing her in other movies and vehicles. Strong actress!

That way we could have all the OG cast back that we all loved who are willing to come back again… But IMO, Bette and Tina were the reason the show succeeded because even how horrible Gen Q was, they were the only reason that most people were hanging on until that last episode…❤

Would love to see many of the original cast in the L Word New York - obviously Bette & Tina, Alice, Shane, Tasha and Helena in some form or another . Interesting idea to have the new show be a prequel to the original, but that puts a huge pressure to perform on what would have to be a new cast of relatively unknown actors . Additionally, I’m very reticent about the writers -please let’s have absolutely none of the Gen Q writers ; they basically assassinated the OG characters one by one by paring away any charisma and vibrancy. Additionally, they gave the OGs no believable story lines rendering it impossible for any interesting character development.
It was like watching that episode on Roar called “ The woman who disappeared”
the characters became more and more transparent , Alice and Shane were pretty much one dimensional by episode 10
No wonder Leisha and Kate were relieved that season 4 is a no go .
If God is listening please have Ilene Chaiken super involved in the new show ; whether as the show runner or some other pivotal role.
Hopefully L Word New York will have loosely developed character arcs in place before filming as well as most of the story lines already set up as opposed to the “ fly by the seat of their pants” lack lustre approach exhibited by Gen. Q writers 🥴
Ideally we’ll have lots of episodes to watch in each season thereby giving us many thought provoking stories and believable characters to enjoy . Hoping for a minimum of 15+ episodes to digest, rewind and rejoice over ; not a paltry 8-10.
I agree any potential writers for this new show should be required to watch all the original episodes in each and every season of the L Word.
How about having them complete and pass a multiple choice test (provided by Ash) with a score of 90% required prior to hiring ? 👍

As Ilene Bette and Tina said, it wasn't an end for the characters, they left it open to proceed. ilene, jennifer, laurel know that the Fans weren't so pleased with these stories, so I believe that's why ilene mentioned in the interview of Bette and Tina being grandparents, it would be a sequel.
I think we should act like GenQ didn't happen at all & start with Bette & Tina's wedding, so it's done properly. It was so wrong how they wrote that episode. It should have been more about Bette, Tina & Angie with close friends & bringing back the OG's for it. Just my opinion. I love your videos. Thanks for sharing them with us

Well, let's spill the tea: if Sepideh is not back and we are not getting Gigi and Dani together, then I couldn't care less about this reboot. I mean, no disrespect for the original cast, I am a 37yrs old and love them, but I need The L Word to correct the dirty they did to Sepideh (the real star of Gen Q) and to us fans. Also, I think Alice and Shane could be back, maybe Helena and Carmem as well, but I really would like to see a fair share of screentime between the old and the new characters this time, IMO it was terrible to had the 4 core on Gen Q because it prevented new and good stories like "Gini" to be developed deeper! And let's be honest, everyone was thirsty for them.
Yes, I agree, I love the OG cast and don’t think the show would be the same without them - but at the same time, there needs to be a balance with some younger characters.

Happy to see this video - it gives us some hope. I was laughing through my drive home listening to the last podcast and Kate's n Leisha's thought - while i also felt bad. Kate said it, her character has become unrecognisable sort of mid way through season 3 (actually i think even Tess has become unrecognisable). Anyway, glad they are able to "air" some of their feelings now. Wonder how that works contractually.
Anyway...btw, I didn't dislike season 2 at all, it's the end and that cliff hanger i disliked and well season 3 was going downhill from the first scene.
Really looking forward to how they work out LWNY - i want it still to be a mix of the OG and GenQ. How will they do it? Let's hope they have some great ideas and great writers on it. Talking about writers, Kate and Leisha did also mention that they felt like the strike would go on till next year - sigh!! But good writing needs good pay, so 👊✊ more power to them. My thoughts on how L Word NY should go: I would like Jenny to wake up in a mental institute after being in a coma for 20 yrs. After a failed suicide attempt in which she jumped into Bette and Tina’s pool. Only to discover she’s dreamt all of Gen Q. Now she’s on a mission to rediscover her friends and identity because of course, she has amnesia. Jenny Schetter POV pulls us into the world of L Word NY. In which she is a fish out of water yet again. She enrolls in a NYU adult writing course and has a tryst with her professor. It’s while she’s in this class she starts to write a noir mystery about a mysterious character named Marina and and gumshoe detective named Shane. Boom! Pitch it.

I hope it's continuing with Bette and Tina in New York and the other casts from the original. Ilene said in her interview : wouldn't you like to see Bette and Tina become Grandmothers, I think it was a hint of what she could do. As much as they did Bette and Tina's wedding it wasn't a good story they gave us either as a couple or as a family, we had practically nothing from TiBette. Alice and Shane also didn't get their stories that they should have, so what everyone is interested in is the sequel and not the backstory before the original.

No one mentioned the jenny character. I'd like that last episode to be Jenny writing about her own death, but she's alive. And of course I'd like a new character portrayed by erin Daniels, who was my favorite. Finally, bring back carmen, helena, leia's mom & peggy.

What were they thinking when they hired marja. She should never be let near a show again. She purposely corrected what she thought the show got wrong...there was literally 5 minutes of OGs in each episode. Shane was unrecognisable and she pretty much promoted trans people where marja made sure the audience knew the l word was a trans show...it was far from a reboot. Hope illene gets new york right. As gen q went down like a lead balloon. If I was illene chaiken I would be so mad for trying to correct her work...I wanna forget gen q ever existed. Bring back all the OGs and Kit and Dana

Deleting Gen Q, or keeping the wedding and start with Bette and Tina's new lives and blend Alice Shane and Helena back into their lives. They made the OG. I wish Kit could come out of Witness protection or something like that. She and Sonny. Bringing Peggy and Dylan as well. I know I want the original cast and storylines back but who doesn't? A solid Bette and Tina story is #1. Lots of GOOD new characters and several storylines with many of the OG. Let Alice and Shane be well functioning human beings. Seeing a tight knit NY gay community would be wonderful. A throwback to the bond the characters had on the original show.

I think Shane is the most interesting character out of everyone (Finlay and Alice a close second).... I don't get the obsession with Bette and Tina. Only thing I hated about Shane on season 3 was Shane's flat hair... she's a hair dresser!!!! Bring back Finlay!!!!
Hmm, was it in the OG Season 5 or 6 that Tina got a potential job offer in NY? I say go even further with deleting stuff - do a time cut from the end of Season 5 and pretend neither Season 6 or Gen Q ever happened 😆 They messed up with killing off Dana so I'm not sure how they could bring her back, but to have Kit and even Jenny back would be interesting.
Bette/Tina - easy enough to have them working at museum, production studio in NY; Angie transferred to a NY university
Kit - musical artist in NY
Shane - I suppose they could keep Shane's Gen Q career the same (she had a NY salon right?) - maybe Carmen has found her way to NY and runs into Shane and we get a season of tension as they repair their relationship or at least give her some type of stable relationship or make her non-monogamous.
Alice - she has a TV show in NY - I think she and Tasha were together at end of OG series - would love to see Papi come for a visit
Helena and Peggy Peabody are already there in NY
Jenny - if Season 6 never happened, then she wasn't killed off and they didn't officially ruin her and Shane's friendship beyond repair; maybe try to redeem her character a little bit
Gen Q - I wonder how disorienting it would be to have some of the Gen Q actors playing completely different roles or even their same characters, but like Gen Q never happened - Having Gigi interact with the group when she's in town for a real estate event or something. 😆

Tina, Bette, Dani, Gigi, Helena, Carmen, Alice, Shane, Papi, they’re who I really want back. Dana, Kit and Jenny if they can come back from the dead. Jordane Hull is cute and I love her, but bring back Olivia Windbiel as Angelica, please, as she really looks like both Tina and Bette mix now as an adult and she is the original baby Angelica. It would be nice to see who Shay has become and his relationship with Shane.

WHICH ALSO MAKES SENSE WITH THE END OF THE Q GENERATION. BETTE AND TINA WOULD RESTART THEIR LIVES IN ANOTHER PLACE AND IN ANOTHER WAY AFTER THEIR WEDDING VOWS. I THINK IT IS NECESSARY TO KEEP THE STORIES OF LOVE, PASSION, OVERCOME, LEARNINGS, IMPERFECTIONS AND HAPPINESS OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS OF THE ORIGINAL VERSION. AND EACH SEASON SEEKS TO FIND NEW PERSONAGES AND PROFESSIONALS WHO CAN SHARE THEIR STORIES WITH PASSION, CHARISMA, BRILLIANCE AND LOVE. JUST LIKE JENNIFER BEALS, LAUREL, KATE AND LEISHA DO. Like truly to this day, no mainstream show has really captured the feel of a group of gay ladies just... hanging out, living their lives! And it's sad because yknow I see all these other shows with 'representation' but the gay characters just..... have all straight friends??? In my own circles, we call that a red flag LOL! Sure I am privileged to live in a place where there are a lot of queer people around, but like our community is so important to us and to see most shows just ignore it is ridiculous.
Again I think making all of season 6 of the OG and Gen Q be part of one of Jenny’s movie treatment or script. So a really bad fantasy that never happened 😂 then you are open to bring back any character you want, Jenny, Dylan, etc. Bette and Tina’s wedding in NY from the OG that we never got to see without all the chaos from this Gen Q wedding.

They can bring back Carmen as a Mexican American on TLWNY. I believe that silly heritage rule only applied to GenQ. And yes, bring back Papi! She is a hoot! (And very believable as a NY character.)
I'd be THRILLED if they turned Jenny's death into a dream, and brought her back. She added LIFE to the show! I love all of the OG cast, but I think Jenny coming back would be incredible
I'd be excited for L Word New York if it comes off but let's hope they handle Alice's storyline better than they did in Gen Q and explain how Shane went from being a Hairdresser to the Stars in the L Word to a Wine bar owner or Publican in Gen Q? Also why was every character in Gen Q portrayed as so predatory; are we really all like that.

I'm still holding out for Shane and Carmen to end up together or at least friends. And Alice is the love of my life so I'll follow her to any channel lol. The friendship bn her and Shane is the comedy the show needs, but the OG show was about Lesbians and their drama. It was simple and complex. I hope it does come back.

And Dana. I felt like everyone loved her and there was just a big missing piece since she was the sunshine and I felt like it was too soon to let her go. I would've liked to see Dana and Alice's relationship rebuilt instead of making Alice suffer even more. Maybe Dana could've gotten sick but she battled cancer and then Alice and her build a stronger bond and Dana realizes she loves Alice and what not but one can dream 😔

It could be cool to have new actors for like, flashbacks to before the original, and then the original actors are playing out new storylines as a way of showing how these people and community has changed over the past like 20 years. One of the things I really loved about the OG L word was the portrayal of a queer women's friend group and Gen Q really did not hit the same vibe like, at all lol.
The integral part that was lost on the writers was the built in fanbase.
A lot of us were super excited in the beginning seeing our L Word OGs however, after S1, the OG crew was less being featured and even worse their characters were being destroyed.
Seeing Shane & Alice repeat the same mistakes of their youth was really strange. These women are all 40+ and were being written so childishly.
Also, the fans have been demanding ever since the reboot idea came into fruition of getting Carmen back and to see Sarah Shahi be so disrespected by Marja was disgusting. We all understand representation matters, but the whole situation regarding Carmen’s ethnicity could have been easily rectified by making her father (who was never once shown!) Persian.
For the L Word NY, I would really like for the writers to start from scratch. Kit is no longer dead. Also, if they are going to bring back any newbies, please let it just be Jordan. She was the only newcomer who shined. I loved all her scenes with her moms and Shane.

Yeah, it was brutally awful. Besides Bette & Tina’s engagement/wedding (which they did their best to screw up, imho) it was virtually unwatchable. It was like they gave all of the characters lobotomies. 😂

The l Word will only have results with the Original characters otherwise it will be another failure if they are going to tell stories before the original this would be with new people it wouldn't be Leisha, Kate, Laurel and Jennifer so I believe it would be like Generation q where they didn't achieve much interest the audience of the original. I probably if it's not Laurel and Jennifer like Bette and Tina I won't watch it, I'd rather leave it as it is.

Fans of the original L Word are fascinating, it’s not like Shane or Alice were particularly well written in the original series especially towards the end
I'm an OG 🌈LWord fan from the beginning. I can tell who is an OG fan vs GenQ when they post about Not getting "Bette&Tina"😮 I was so bummed when it ended w Jennys death. Omg I would be loving it if LW NY picks up all the OG's (incl bringing back Kit & others) ....Continue the " family " dynamics in current times of Angie growing up., maybe Even showing the process they All went thru @ the PD interrogations. . Even though Im a Native Cali gyrl I would be fine w NY ~So Im impatiently waiting to see what happens next & hope the writers strike is resolved ASAP😎
We need the OG family back together. Maybe they forgo season 6 of the original and start with Bette and Tina getting married. The GQ disaster was a disgrace! They deserve a beautiful, magical wedding. Then bring the whole gang back. We need Bette & Tina as the main characters (this show revolves around their orbit), Include Angie, Alice, Shane, Kit, Jenny, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Tasha, Dana (bring in Dana's twin). If you want a few of the GQ cast fine. Just have them as tertiary characters (small roles). Alice's show can still have Finley and Sophie. Dani could work with Bette at a gallery? Gigi could fit in somewhere. Rename the GQ folks if necessary. I don't want the entire GQ cast as it's too many characters. If it's an either/or situation, then OG cast ONLY. We need Angela Robinson, Tony Goldwyn, Rose Troche.....OG writers and others from the original. This show needs to pick up where OG ended (with or without season 6 storyline). We NEED Tina's back story or family!! Bette's Mom. Shane needs to settle down with Carmen. More developed storylines, mature content. Not just cheating or cheap sex. I think Ilene needs to be the ShowRunner or be involved. Taping in Vancouver like the old days will be great for the cast. Bring them all together like old times for chemistry!! Let us see them grow their families. Then the next generations can grab the baton for the future.
I gave up on this show it was my favorite show ever I actually loved Jenny and we had one line from Bette that she killed herself as the resolution to the horrible original series finale. Why does it feel she intentionally makes fans hate the characters we grew to love over all these years 😢
I honestly don't care for any GQ characters in the NY, not saying they were bad but they had no chemistry with the OG's really ,story wise it felt like two separate shows. However would love to see Carmen back hopefully Ilene Chaiken forgets all about the non latina stuff she said years ago, also Tasha should be back! and it would be awesome if Jenny maybe in a dream showed her face just like Dana! (or forget about S6 and have her being alive).

I would pick two OGs one genQ cast member and one newbie. We can't have this huge cast for a show that might get ten episodes a season. I'm going into left field here but bare with me. Lol So the two OGs are Alice and Jenny. GenQ was actually a movie that Jenny wrote following Le Girls. So it hilariously and terribly chronicled the lives of her friends again. It was critically panned but was a commercial hit that Jenny is trying to keep a low profile from. I'd have Alice move her show to New York and/or she gets a new gig. I would bring back Dani and have Gigi as a reoccurring character. I would make a fourth character who's a trans lesbian played by MJ Rodriguez. Because we never get that representation!
I too would love to read some of the lines that Kate turned down because MY God! By episode ten she must have been so brow beaten over what they did to Shane. That she was just like whatever let's end this. 😂😂😂 Thanks Ash!

i honestly don't care for yet another educational, "politically correct" show trying to tick every box of diversity and orientation, which usually ends up a queer show for straight people rather than unapologetic, nuanced and substancial representation of lesbian day to day. i think the most crucial thing they ultimately need to figure out is what stories they wanna tell and who they can include (from the entire og cast, dead or alive) and stop obsessing over whether or not it would all make sense. given the nonsense Gen q writers have pulled out of a hat, i wouldn't hesitate to disregard or redo anything, specially the wedding if it got to it. what i personally miss is the intricate depth of the original show's story and characters, gen q was a kiddy pool of fast paced shallow events and fire works that had only boom and no light. i'd also love writers who are familiar with actual human communication and dialogue...with everything said, i don't really have much hope for something raw, honest and original to coming out of this all, seeing what's being done with other reboots like the new "queer as folk" or "sex and the city" but i'd love to be proven wrong here.
I have extremely unpopular opinions about all of this. I'd honestly be happy for Tibette to move out of the picture. I have no interest in their relationship. It's toxic. I actually wanted to see Tina with Carrie, and they really messed that all up. My favorite characters are Shane and Alice, and they are the reason I watch. If they aren't in NY, I'm not sure how interested I will be. Also, these women are in their 40s and 50s now. As someone in her 40s, I can say that the characters SHOULD be different people now. They SHOULD have GROWN and will hopefully be better versions of themselves. I feel where Gen Q missed the mark was that it kept flip flopping on whether or not the characters were growing as people. And that was very frustrating to watch.
I think there is a time between the ending of the original and the beginning of Gen Q that they will do the show in and not just brush over their lives but we can actually see what happened.
I liked a lot of characters from Gen Q. I, personally, need Tess closure.

I watched the L Word from the beginning. Some of my disappointment with the series was the rampant cheating and bed hopping. There’s nothing wrong with lesbians being faithful. My hope for L Word NY would be for Tess and Shane to get back together, Alice finds her soul mate, Bette and Tina continue their happy ever after and GiGi and Dani are in the series.
Whoever gave the show to marja should pay for their crimes not marja. They should of known whar marja was going to do to the show. She made it too woke. Think thats what killed the show. Not all lgbtq people like the wokeness and identity crisis people have.
I think the OG ( Jb, Laurel , Leisha and Kate) must be on the show. Otherwise it will be a disaster
I’ve been out of the loop on this show. I watched the original even when it wasn’t good anymore. I think I watched one episode of the Q thing and noped right out. It was pure cringe and I was embarrassed for them. I’m so out of the loop that I didn’t know it was a different showrunner. I will probably watch LWNY to see how it goes.
You dodged a lot of frustration and embarrassment, actually, by not watching GenQ. I was thrilled for the reboot and kept watching hoping it would get better. Instead, it got worse. TLWNY surely will be better with lessons learned and with Ilene Chaiken playing a stronger role in its development. Here’s hoping….
I’d like to see them acknowledge Gen Q storylines which would allow for character crossover but move a couple of years into the future to resolve some of Marja’s wreckage. I think doing a “prequel” to the original show is a bad idea. Most of us, particularly those who have been watching it since the beginning, are too invested in the actors.
Where to deviate- Characterization- closer to how they were in the OG. Bring back the humor. Also. Slow the fuck down- Goodbye to unnecessary breakups before a storyline ever truly develops. Bring back Max. Bring back Helena. Bring back Shay. Acknowledge Jenny’s death (I wouldn’t be opposed to pretending it never happened, to be honest. Bring back GG. Bring back Dani. Bring back Carrie. Slowly, but surely, weave back Finley and Tess, and find writers who can write.

Anywhere Bette, Shane, and Alice go...I go! I have to say that I am within the minority who never really cared for Tina, but she was never a deal breaker. NY show please please PLEASE have Tasha back! Highlight of the final season on Gen Q was seeing her again. Would love to see Gigi in NY, she'd kill it! And I actually found Dani's longtime friend to be a steamy addition. As for the other cast members, while I developed some attachment, I cannot continue to root for the chaos that was seen on screen. It did not make for great TV. Now...Jacqueline Toboni. I just binged watched Grimm and found her acting chops so much stronger on that show. I say all that to say that the remaining actors, particularly Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Leo Sheng, Jillian Mercado, and Jamie Clayton, I remain interested in seeing them in other roles and hope that they are able to show up and show out!!! I did see Arienne Mandi in a Hallmark movie and she did well although the movie itself was a snoozer.

I do agree that Finley (Jaqueline Tobani) is a much better actor than she appeared to be on GenQ. The writing/Directing was so bad that it put her in a bad light. Given a new character or better material I think she could really shine.
Ilene has EPed many other shows post OG L-Word and never cast anyone from the L-Word until Gen Q. So maybe they are just having a nice weekend at her house. Also, due to the writers strike, it might last a whole year and L-Word NY is a long shot with Showtime. I don’t trust the network especially since they barely did any advertising for the Gen Q and it’s folded into Paramount that didn’t pick up pilots and newer series got cancelled.
If it’s to have a closer likeness to NY landscape they’d likely shoot in TO instead of Vancouver which doesn’t resemble NY at the slightest.
