@@JT-fq2blnonsense. The Encore is generally considered a less attractive design than the Envista. Furthermore, awd is available on this platform already so it’s not like it requires massive design changes to make it happen. Awd should be available for a 1k to 2k dollar upgrade. Bottom line.

@@haroldbeauchamp3770- Well said. It’s a strange world in GM,,, 😂. I would want it on sale though,,,, can get a base Crosstrek for similar $$ and that is with full safety pack, led headlights with the ability to turn for better lighting on corners at night. It’s still running a normally aspirated 2.0 litre, not these micro engines. It does only have a Fabric interior mind you.
To each their own ultimately. I drive trucks only excepting my few classic cars.

The Buicks of the era you spoke of actually were always good for just over 100,000 miles. Back then the tolerances were no where near the current building tolerances. With the lacking technology you are rebuilding your engine at that point just over 100,000Km. They didn’t usually go boom, they just started burning oil as an indicator when to replace them. The rebuilds were good for 80,000+ miles. The rebuilds were very simple and inexpensive as well!! Things are different now,,, price out that 3 cylinder and once you pick your bottom jaw off the floor you will realize things are not always vastly better.

It's certainly a tempting car. It's a lot of style for a relatively low price. However, it's built by GM Korea (Daewoo) and the overall quality is lacking. I joined a Facebook group for Envista owners to understand how they are holding up. Common complaints revolve around exterior trim falling off, glitches with the digital screens requiring multiple updates at the dealership, AC failure requiring the entire dashboard to be removed for repair, and power windows not functioning. Less common problems include engine failure, transmission failure, and failure of the digital cluster, which dealers have informed customers that it costs $6,500-$8,000 to replace should it fail again outside of warranty. I suspect these cars will end up in landfills with relatively low mileage compared to their competitors due to the sheer number of problems and the associated high repair costs.

The Camaro, Even though it was a base V6 car. The insurance alone was very expensive. The Buick. Cheap to run, cheap to insure ,and under the radar from cops. I wish GM,especially Buick still made those grandpa cars. Remember most of those cars came with one of the most bullet proof engines ever made. The 3800 V6. With basic general maintenance, they'd run forever. Also their were extremely comfortable. I miss 6 passenger bench seat, column shifted cars.
