    The day kobe tore his achilles was a very weird day for me. I was at my first concert ever (Kyary Pamyu Pamyu) which was right across the street from Staples Center. I had a good time at the concert for sure but noticed a bunch of Laker fans sad walking back to their cars (the concert ended the same time as the game). Kobe did EVERYTHING he could this year, he gave everything. Guarded the best play, never sat the bench, fought through injuries and was the only one who wasn’t offensively challenged. Artest aged, Pau was soft and a bum, Dwight was soft and injured. Nash constantly hurt. Dantoni a complete idiot. This was NOT Kobe fault.

    • @urbaindelva7869
      @urbaindelva7869 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Nash was nowhere the player he used to be by then, injuries or not, so he was not gonna be the game changer that many people thought he would be. A 38-year-old defensive liability with back issues? Be real. It's funny that you call Gasol a "soft bum" even though he was the Lakers' second-best player during Kobe's last two title runs and was still very good at the time, but also dealt with injuries as well.
      As for Kobe, as much as I love the guy, what WAS his fault was 1) his failure to build a good rapport with Dwight (who is also to blame for that) and 2) running himself into the ground for that team despite knowing that they had no chance of winning anything substantial. He played hard till the end and he deserved all the props for that, but he was not SMART about it.

    I think with the way Kobe was playing with shooting 50.4% EFG dropping 27 a game I fully believe if they had Phil there Kobe and Dwight would’ve gotten to the WCF. And then who knows maybe NBA Finals. Phil got Kobe and Shaq to work. 4 finals. 3 rings. Mamba and d12 would be child’s play imo. Tho that’s if pau and Steve were healthy come playoff time and were a top 3 seed as well. I thought Mike brown got an unfair shake he technically was an improvement from 10-11. Where is in ‘11 the lakers won r1 and then lost 4-0 to the mavs. In ‘12 they won r1 again and managed to put more of a fight vs OKC in ‘12 than Dallas in ‘11. Not getting swept. I think his slow the game down “boring style” would’ve worked better. Kinda mirroring the ‘10 team that was very much a late 90’s kinda team that beat Boston in 7 in ugly but dramatic Hollywood fashion. It would’ve been amazing as a kb fan to see him with 6 rings I think people would have him significantly higher in the top ten if he won in ‘13. Would’ve gone from a top 5-7 player ever to a top 4 player ever at least imo.
    Would love to see a vid on where Kobe ranks all time for you guys! He definitely has a top five resume 100%

    Thinking about it, that Dwight trade worked for nobody except for Orlando and Vucevic.
    *edit* they pointed out

    Coaching and injuries ruined this team. Getting Mike D’antoni to coach a team with Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol is crazy, especially when the team is being facilitated by a past his expiration date Steve Nash and not Kobe Bryant. Nothing about that team made sense.

    • @chrisuncleahmad666
      @chrisuncleahmad666 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Instead of the risky D’Antoni hire, why not just let Bernie Bickerstaff (who went 4-1 in 5 games) be interim?
      He had plenty of coaching experience from his days in Denver and Seattle.
      3 HC’s in 1 years is bonkers.

    I’m just going to say it as a die-hard Lakers fan, the refs/league definitely chauffeured the Lakers to a playoff birth in 2013, it was obvious when watching that final month of the season. Thats my team but even I can’t deny it

  • @joshuajoestar407

    Nash broke his leg and was never the same 1 game in. Kobe had to play PG and was killing it as vino point god but it was too much and he tore his Achilles. They had a shot that year if they got in with Kobe healthy but that was that. Also Howard was coming off back surgery and was not the same player all season.

      How was kobe not top 5??? 5 rings and 1 back to back and went to the finals 4 times in a row with shaq and 3 without shaq. And has 5 rings. Lebron has never had a back to back season. And has never won without a hall of famer inductee. The second statment i agree. He shouldve been in 75th anni. He lead the magic alone to the finals. And BEAT LEBRON. he stop the lebron vs kobe match up. Alone.
