About time we got a Cavs vid. And a great one at that. The numbers speak for themselves, and anyone who actually tunes into the Cavs see how it’s been a totally different team and approach under Kenny Atkinson. So in short, they decided that after the LeBron experience, the Cavaliers wanted to find a way to win that *didn't* involve selling their soul to a single man. Good on them.
@1vaultdweller Listen, do Cavs fans appreciate LeBron James for everything he's done for them? Yes. However, the roster was in terrible shape when he left, and everyone knew that it was at least going to be a 3-4 year process to restock and clear out the deadwood. It was a roster built by LeBron, for LeBron, but without LeBron. Creating a more sustainable and egalitarian roster and locker room was absolutely necessary to legitimize the Cavaliers as a franchise outside of LeBron James. You cannot deny this fact. You can argue it can't ever be done, but you know what silences that narrative? Winning. So far this season, the Cavs have done literally nothing but win, so they're on the right track.
@@nicholastricarico2957 yes because they needed veterans ready to compete, you don’t get a team full of first and second year player to go face the golden state warriors. Should be common sense. @WestCoastCheeseHead the Browns were not doing just fine. We made the playoffs exactly one time before the Haslams came in since 1999. They trash this year, tho. They should've kept Baker smh.
So what happened with Lue is that he realized he wasn’t really a fit for a rebuilding squad at the time and didn’t want to hold on there. So he worked out a deal with the FO to leave. Also, Windler was a star in college at Belmont, Indiana, but injuries destroyed his career. Never really got a chance to play because he was always hurt. Did help us get Caris LeVert, though.
The biggest factor is Dan Gilbert no longer runs shit in Cleveland lmao he would have traded Darius Garland, Jarett Allen, Issac Okro, and Dean Wade by now 😂😂
Been waiting for this video since 10-0. Just to give some context on Ty Lue, he was really let go not for performance but because he refused to play the young guys that the front office wanted to get minutes and wouldnt stop playing the vets heavy minutes in their place. Dylan Windler was supposed to be a great shooter but was hurt constantly and just never saw the floor. Kind of a legend in cavs circles.
Let’s not forget how the most attention the media gave the Cavs last year was constantly talking about how Donovan was not gonna extended. Even when New York seemed unlikely, they still were bringing up the Lakers, Heat, Bulls. Once he extended they acted like the extension was expected 😂.
Na lets be honest, they are very good but they kinda gotten lucky with their difficulty of schedule so far. I still think theyre one of the three best teams in the league, but I don't totally trust the start.
@@finneganmurray7331 I don't agree about the strength of schedule part because they've played 15 games in 26 days. Ever since the start of the season it's only been back to backs or games every other day, Kenny Atkinson has said that he hasn't had the time to let the team practice

To be fair Atkinson was overdue partially because of himself, he'd agreed to take the Hornets job but backed out last second (they subsequently panicked and re-hired Clifford)

Cleveland just outgrew him, and you look at what he’s doing with the pistons now, I think in a couple years we’re gonna see him have a really good reputation as a rebuild guy.
Another thing Tristan Thompson is loved in Cleveland because during the 19-20 season he was the leader and shielded the younger guys from a lot of flack. He took on a lot of the responsibility when the team was sucking and took the heat off those young guys and let them develop.
Nah, that draft with Garland, Windler, and Porter I was hyped. And then Dean Wade ended up being better than Garland and Porter. I thought Windler would be a solid player like Korver was for Cleveland. Porter was well, Porter. Then they hired one of the worst coaches to develop them, which set them back probably a year.
