Glad to see I’m not the only one, my 2013 had this problem and now my 2016 has the same exact thing going on. I have to let the top down out of necessity rather then fun, I’m in an oven when its up. Nice simple video thanks.
First of all, this is only a temporary "fix". The main problem of a leaking a/c unit, the hole in the system doesn't fix itself. Second, R-134a is a blended refrigerant, so one part of the blend will leak out. Picture oil and water, water being heavier than oil, depending on where the leak is located, one or the other liquid will leak out before the other. So, by adding more refrigerant, you probably aren't helping yourself but buying time, or worse, having to replace the entire system.
Hi, thanks for your video. I have a 2017 Ford Mustang convertible eco-boost. I bought the refrigerant and I tested the pressure before I connected it to the can of refrigerant. When I checked the pressure it went all the way up into the red zone where it says “read instructions”. When it’s in the red zone, does that mean I don’t need any refrigerant? I’d rather return this can of refrigerant instead of puncturing it if it’s already full of refrigerant and that’s not the problem. I’d rather return the refrigerant and get my $60 back if it means it’s full and doesn’t need refrigerant. Thanks for your help. Sarai
So there is something that's hard to explain, if it went to red zone, it means the clutch have not kicked in, it could be that your refrigerant level was too low that clutch doesn't automatically start to protect the compressor. Assume you connected the recharging kit and coupler properly. In that instance you'll need to use a jumper cable to manually kickstart the AC clutch for the system to suck the refrigerant into the loop. Refer to this video for proper service: th-cam.com/video/Pdq8JAlct6s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JrOioVRc4w4ojO1D and also, using Manifold gauge and a vacuum pump to completely vacuum the system and recharge to correct level maybe necessary. You'll also need to jump start the AC clutch relay, it might require some additional DIY as shown in that video.
@@TheGizmoGarage Hi Li, thanks for your response. God gave me the answer that I was looking for. I am a prophetic Christian meaning that God gives me dreams to give me answers about many things. Do all 2015 mustangs have this issue? Mine is having this issue, as well as others I’ve talked too. If this is an actual issue with the 2015 model they should be recalling and repairing.🙄
if your car is blowing hot/warm air, quite likely the refrigerant is low, after all the car's ac has been running for 6/7 years and will need a recharge. Bring car to a reputable mechanic, or car dealer they can do the refrigerant recharge for you, or you can try to do it yourself if you feel confident.

Yes, you just need to make sure to go to the auto parts store and ask them to provide you with the correct refrigerant with the proper connector, if your issue is low refrigerant and not other bigger issues.
It should fit by default, make sure you are trying to charge through the low-pressure port NOT the high pressure port, which has a different connection I believe.
Worked great. Saved me a $3000 repair at the dealer. This issue should be classified as a recall.
RIGHT THIS IS MY SECOND MUSTANG WITH THIS ISSUE
Mind you I had a GT 2015 now I have a 2016
Nah they make too much money
Same for me. The dealer wanted $2,800 to "fix" my AC

You need to do it correctly checking your high pressure line and also check for leaks
I have a question... and if my car marks that it already has refrigerant gas, but it still doesn’t cool the air... what can be done?
There could be a blockage in the condenser/AC system, a professional diagnose maybe required to pinpoint the issue and fix it.
this is the same problem Im having!! driver side hot passenger side cold
Could be low on refrigerant! Would be first thing to try before taking to mechanic.
Epa makes manufacturers make can with installed valve so it doesnt leak. And it still leaks when the old style never did on me.lol
Do I have to keep my car running the whole time?
Yes you do so the system is circulating the refrigerant
