5:34 You are SO obviously been "llifting spirits"... mostly in large glasses. 😀
There might have been a few "tastings" that day for sure! Good thing we walked around for hours after! Thanks for your comment and for watching!
Wow you guys have really built up to this big rig !
It’s been our 7 year goal! Never give up on your dreams!
Too funny, our current layover while we search for our boat is the apartment complex across the ICW from the Marina.
Honestly, moving into a smaller apartment was great lesson in living smaller. You figure out what you really need and what stuff is just stuff.
A good book to read for you guys is "The Voyage of the Northern Magic". Also find Bumfuzzle old circumnavigation post. Great inspiration.
Will look them up - thanks!
Curious what your import fees were since that boat has never been to America.
Import fees were about 1.5% of the boat I believe to be around $9,575. Florida sales tax was capped at $18,000. Thank you for your question and watching!
How did you finance this? Did you sell your house? When you are finished with the roundtrip, do you start over? Meaning the boat will drop in value, and you need a house when you get back. Whats the plan for your "reentry into society" :-) ?
Great question! Yes, we sold our home at the height of the St John’s county market and made a sizeable profit. We also have rental properties that are mostly paid off. We will live on the boat in a marina in Fl or sell it and buy a much smaller home or an RV. We have been living off 1 income for over 10 years and saving to help save for this adventure.
@@SailingParadiseFalls That sounds awesome. I want to do this myself but there are too many obstacles at the moment.
Good luck to you on your adventure.
I am curious to how many children you have together? How many of you will be living on the boat?
We have 4 children in total - 2 are Shannon’s, 1 is Rob’s and together they had 1, Davis, who will be the only child on the boat. The 3 older ones are in college. I know it can be confusing! Thanks for your question!
Awesome! I look forward to watching your journey unfold!
I suggest another upgrade - those furry covers on the microphones. And do something with the sound. Most "vloggers" these days won't even get out of bed without a big fat studio microphone on a looooong arm.
This is one of our very first episodes. We are trying to improve - Tks for your comment.
