I had mentioned in my comment earlier, that Davis is not quite old enough to FULLY appreciate the experience he is embarking upon. I am confident this sailing experience will grow on him and although he will miss his friends, he will be able to see the world, become a great sailor and spend some wonderful times with his parents!
Family and friends are important! With today’s technology we have been able to video daily. Almost seems like we talk more than when we lived 5 miles away.
I remember the first time I was in control by myself in the dingy. The anxiety And oh ya, i crashed into the boat. The first time by yourself is very confusing because it's the opposite of everything you have taught you whole life about driving.. good job, girl..
Yes he is! We love the Z crew! We met them at the Miami Boat Show in 2020 and attended the Q&A meet up with Them and The Wynns. The kids and Davis were "creating content" at the meet up... some funny stuff.
We hope so! He still has his days and doesn’t want to try new things but getting a little better! Our oldest (22yr) now apologizes for being such a thorn on our previous Bahamas trip on our monohull.
He is getting used to being away from family and friends. We knew it is going to be tough especially since he does not like change. He is getting used to everything though and has had some really cool adventures so far! Thanks for your comment and thanks for following our journey!
So glad I found your channel. Love your son, he basically says what’s on his mind. Hoping for good sea’s as you cross. Enjoy the Ride- Bell Bells Rides
Shannon let us say that you are a real Aussie Legend, your are brave, courageous, confident and with Rob and 1st Mate Davis the world is your oyster 🦪. Keep up the great work dont forget this is all new a voyage of this scale, take care be safe and God Bless America 🇺🇸
I've been watching Y'all since the beginning and you three have come such a long way...I really enjoy your channel and look forward to seeing what comes next Cheers 🥃
Another great video and so glad to see you guys (at least in the video) off to the Bahamas. I know in real life you have been there for some time, or passed thru there already. I really feel for poor Davis, he is at an age where he does not fully appreciate the voyage he is about to embark upon. I am sure the "sailing experience" and your travels will grow on him in time... The package of cookies you sent your daughter reminded me of packages my mother sent to me when I was in college 30 years ago... fond memories indeed! I hope all is well and you guys are enjoying the sites and views of your voyage! I owe you an email to suggest "levels" for your Patreon... I will get that out to you shortly. Safe travels!
Thank you! Yes, we are enjoying the Bahamas. Will be moving through a lot quicker as we got a March 5 date to transit the Panama Canal. I feel bad for daughter bc I used to send monthly care packages to my son in college. I’ve tried to send something once a month. She’s just taking this a little harder than the boys. Davis is enjoying fishing. He honestly talks to his grandparents and siblings more know then when we live close. Looking forward to learning more about the Patreon levels😊 Hace a great week. Crossing the Gulf Stream is next.
as both the wife and I are divers, and sailing is likely in our future, I would really be interested in hearing more about your dive compressor, how you like it, it's portability, etc, thx
it's not light. We got the gas unit to save on our electric consumption. We have only used it once, and it did fine. We bought it second hand and the prior owner was a dive instructor. It fills a tank in about 12 minutes. It takes both of us to move it under the table where we store it. Don't know if they are lighter with the electric motor. Once we get to French Polynesia, I think it will pay off because we will be able to dive remote locations and not have to rely on a dive company. Thanks for your comment and thanks for following our journey!
I bought a soda stream to reduce carrying heavy diet dr. pepper cans from store to house. My husband is a sailor so I think it would be perfect for a sailboat because you have less waste to dispose of. We rent cats and have had and have lots of sailboats.
When do you estimate going through the Panama Canal? Where and how long will you stay in Central America before crossing to French Polynesia? What route will you take to get back to the US from there?
We have a crossing date of March 5. Making our way down toward Panama now but most likely will arrive mid Feb. After we cross will head towards French Poly and spend 3 mo the there before heading west. Thanks for your question!
We have used the current intro for about 2 months. We will likely update the intro when we get to Panama. Thanks for your comment and thanks for following our journey!
@@SailingParadiseFalls I hate to weigh in with my two cents so much, BUT, they say comments on videos are good for the algorithm! In any event, I LOVE your Intro, especially the music. As a general rule, with an Intro like yours (with clips), every six months is perfect to update it and you appear to have that plan in mind already...
We question ourselves sometimes as well, but we are out here doing it and will continue to learn as we go. This adventure is teaching us so much! Thanks for your comment and thanks for following our journey!
Why would you say something like that? They have prepared and planned as best they could and positive thoughts and vibes are what they need! My money says they will do just fine!
Davis is a very wise kid
Family and friends are very important

Thanks so much!!! I’m learning that knowing how to do things lessens my anxiety. I appreciate your encouragement!!
I did crack up laughing when Rob was unloading the bikes and said you couldn’t just help a little bit 😂😂
Yep, that's us! I was just trying to keep the dingy off the rocks :)
Do my eyes deceive me, Rob wearing a Z-crew shirt.
Yep! We are big fans of the Z crew!
More importantly Rob is wearing the nightly LA Tech hat! Go Dogs!
GO DAWGS!! LA TECH DAWGS that is! - ROB

Lol funny Davis does not want to go hahahaha he will warm up and when he gets older he will appreciate these times for sure.

We have a soda stream but unfortunately I could not find Diet Coke syrup for purchase. It’s been really handy!!

I feel like you should R&R a few of the clips within the intro to some of your more recent happenings. .

Oh boy ready for the adventure thank you for sharing the beautiful smiles
Thank you for watching!!
Give your son a few months, and he will be thanking you
Thanks for the comment. We hope so! His teen hormones are starting to kick in!!
He is unfortunately at the age where "change" is difficult to accept, but my goodness, I wish I had this opportunity at his age!
Davis your hair is little less cool when your not excited.. still coolest little man doo out there but only by a little when not excited.. lol
Ha!!! Thanks for saying that!! We are working on that attitude!
After paying the Bahama prices for groceries I wouldn't be in a hurry to not see a Walmart again! At least you work on fresh Lobster!
Yes, bittersweet! I think we are stocked for the next 3-6mo except for fresh fruit & veg. US is the land of the plenty!
Yeah, I'm not sure you guys are gonna make it out there
