You can further increase the builds potential with the stonecutter's knob. It has a hidden perk for the heavy finisher combo that increases its damage like the vidar arm and waist pieces so it's dps is higher than furious maul if you're using the vidar strat.

The amount of damage done to these bosses from your previous build is exceptional, but much less on GMGOW. Still, your build helped me beat both of them on this difficulty, so thank you. Just wanted to be sure those playing on GMGOW are aware that this build causes this much damage on lesser difficulties only.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I did make sure to write in the description this is on GMB difficulty. And yes, it does less damage on higher difficulties. But this being a build guide to help people kill them bosses, it just wouldn't make sense in my opinion to do it on GMGOW difficulty.
FWIW, I play on GMGOW as well (would be interested to see stats on difficulty/viewership)
@Asheroutube thank you for taking the time to watch the video and leaving your comment. It would be interesting to see rhe different playstyle and damage output difference when fighting in GMGOW. But that can be done! In my video where I fight all the Berserkers and Gna in GMGOW difficulty, I use the original version of this build and my strategy doesn't change much. I simply adapt to the different reality of the enemies being harder to kill. But it does allow an idea of what to expect when using this build in higher difficulties. However, this being a build video and the main idea is to help and guide the general public into victory, the ideal difficulty to carry this out is Give Me Balance brother.
Fun fact - Stone Cutter's knob does in fact have a HIDDEN buff for the R1R1R1R2 combo for axe, making it deal A LOT more damage. I did my own tests with and without Stonecutter's Knob AND with and without Vidar's and the Stonecutter's Knob* 100% makes the R1R1R1R2 combo deal more damage. I've tested on GMGOW and GMNM difficulties. It does deal a little less damage on GMGOW vs GMNM, however it's not THAT big of a difference in damage between the 2 difficulties with Stonecutter's Knob axe pommel.

Just starting NG+ after I did Valhalla....never beat Berserker King or GNA.. I heard they were soooo hard, and ya, GNA crushed me about 8 times. Found your build vids today, going to go back to try again with this build in my current NG+
If you are on NG+, there is a third version of this build, more suitable for NG+. Check it out on the channel, "The Destroyer Build 3.0". Wow, this was amazing. I'm not very good with parying so I'm worried about the berserker curias
I released an updated version of this build on the channel today. Way more risky to use to be honest, but at least giving an alternative to this one, which is 100% focused on boss fights. The new version I uploaded today, gives a more reliable build when it comes to both bosses and multiple smaller enemies, without having to change much about the build to make it work. Freya’s runic attack is the key, posion makes Gna’s health bar become green, a lot of damage
It does help quite a lot, that is why I am using. However, I would say the two key ingredients of this build are the realm shift and permafrost combination. Thanks for watching my video and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated 🙏

Nowadays in New Game Plus, it is also optional to use the Zeus Armor, but keep in mind, that the set is only obtainable after completing Ragnarok. Also, by pressing R2, R2 after using the R1, R1, R1, R2 combo, you will deal even more damage even faster.

My only problem with this game is the parry timing, but with this build you don't even need a shield lol, great stuff btw

But with this build, truth being said, as you pointed out, parrying is not needed at all. Thank you for your support 🙏
One thing that helped me, forget the word parrying, every opponent actually telegraph their act attack, so instead of trying to parry, look for the animation .. it’s a 2 second snapshot the you press and HOLD until the parry animation completes, some attacks/animation might continue if you let go of the button too early and wonder what happened

i have a question bro, muspelheim enchantment bonus activates when the gauge is full or when u activate the the skill?, because i see u do more damage when the skill is active, or is it because the skill does more damage than the bonus?
The skill itself does a massive amount of damage. Especially in this build where the idea is to build up to the permafrost activation. The muspelheim bonus activates when the gauge is full and it stays active during the activation of the permafrost as well. This enchantment set does increase the damage enough to make it worth using. What armor should I use to fight the berserkers to get the berserker chest piece?
Thanks for taking the time to watch and to comment brother. I used my Poison Fists Build (also available on the channel) for that specific fight. It's a difficult fight, but once you get the chest piece, all other bersekers fall quickly to this build brother.
So far what I had accomplished trying this build is almost killing King Berserker but I am on a Give me no Mercy difficulty, can you somewhat create another video of this same build but this time on a higher difficulty?

What am I doing wrong. I beat gna, but I can't get King. So when you activate all 3 in a row, are you starting with rage... regular rage with boon, or is there another way. Mine does not happen the same I do rage, then I try to hold tingle for freeze the time shift but mine does not do it your way lol
The rage I'm using is the Valour. Which basically just recover HP. It's use has to donwith the enchantment "Boon of Valour", which increases damage after using Valour. Nowadays, these tricks don't work so well, cause the bosses now have "Runic Shields", which prevent them from getting stunned
I have the king halfway. But at the start of it he puts his shield up, the white one or the blue one or the red. So it’s different, when the king presents himself at this time. It’s harder to get done.
The king unfortunately is less of a consistent fight because of how random he initiates the fight. He never does the same thing at the start of the fight. So you will need to adapt and change your positioning accordingly. I have tried several times and this was my fastest run, but I understand what you mean. @@cadimagamingplace so, basically it's all based on your luck, because if damn monster starting to fly before you active realm shift, you screwed. So, it's just a gamble.
@cybernessful no brother. Its based on my knowledge of the game. I know that he tends to jump away/fly off just after the combination of my 3 runic attacks. Therefore, I will delay the activation of the permafrost and the realm shift if that happens. But, also, most times he either doesn't jump too far away or he actually doesn't jump at all and goes for the blue ring attacks that he does instead. In both situations, it's not really about luck, but about using the build as shown in the video for maximum effectiveness and adapt in case he does fly away, activating the permafrost and realm shift only after closing the gap. I have recreated the fight you see in this video many times, not only by reseting my own checkpoint so I can kill him again and again and again, but also when helping other players via Share Play, the fight rolled out exactly the same way. It is not advisable to try to take on the Zerks (especially the King) or Gna with Atreus instead of Freya. Freya's Runic Summoning massively improves the fight in our favour. Using Atreus doesn't make achieving victory impossible, because you can use the same attachments for Atreus that you would have on Freya, but none of his Runic Summoning attacks are good at all. It is my opinion (and everybody else's to be honest) that his Runic Summoning attacks are awful. Thank you for watching my content and leaving your comment brother
This video is missing the "Skills" mod tokens required. I do not get enough charge to activate permafrost to counter before relic. Trying to find out which ones to go for is a nightmare.
You are correct. I missed that. I would say though, all my tokens go into 1) stun if available, 2) charge, 3) momentum.

Ahhh, I’ve been trying this all arvo, but for some reason I don’t get full momentum by the time I need to use it….I don’t have exactly the same level of the Accessories for Freya, but the momentum should be identical based on the Amulets, armour & handles I’m using. I don’t know why I’m always just short by the time I’m done with the Axe light Runic attack….
I'm sorry to hear that is not working quite right for you. It does take practice though. Also, keep in mind that the bosses now have a Runic Shield that prevents them from being stun-locked, making it harder too. Thanks for watching the video though and supporting the channel
how do you manage to keep him so calm long enough to perform 2 combos, and with me valorous bloodthirst doesn't activate with other buffs like you do, thanks for the great video
I activate it manually brother, by activating the rage just before I activate the Permafrost and the Realm Shift. Keeping him calm comes with a mix of both knowing the timing of the combos and a bit of luck that he does not "fly/runaway" too far from where I'm standing. And, if you position yourself correctly like I did in the video, with that same luck, he will "fly" against you, meaning you can keep on hitting him mid-air. I had to restart the fight about 3 to 4 times to get it to work 100% perfectly. Afterwards, upon retrying the same strategy, I still managed to make it work every 3 to 4th restart checkpoint. So, yeah. It does work.

my mistake, instead of valor, I had the wrath option, so that's ok, but there's still no way to do more than one combo, the realm shift literally expires and he immediately runs away and that's it, I manage to take off a little more than half the energy and that is it how you manage to keep it for even three combos is beyond me
@HrapaCREED I can only land 2 entire R1+R1+R1+R2 combos during the realm shift. The third one is after the realm shift is finished. If you are having trouble still, I can show you how to do it via Share Play if you want brother.

I took a break from him last night and went to fight the gna, it took me 3-4 tries for her, quite an easy fight honestly and then I come back to try again against him;
after several attempts I managed to link two combos and it didn't go all the way like your fight, but with a little dodging of his attacks I finished him off 😊

What is the best build to take on the muspelheim challenges in order to get their armor and gear rewards?
I don't have what is locked behind the muspelheim challenges, yet. Other than the undying pyres armor set. The challenges seem near impossible after that.
Check out my The Stunning Tank build brother. It is the most effective (in my opinion) to complete all the challenges. Bot only it offers great defense stats but also, due to its ability to easily stun everything in just one of two hits, it does work wonders against multiple targets or elite enemies as well. Also, it does allow for the number one thing in the challenges: survivability. And that is what makes that build the best option in my opinion. I was getting frustrated by videos telling me I could easily beat fights with armor and gear I won't have until I beat the fights I'm supposed to use the armor I get from beating the fight to beat said fight. And once I beat said fight I can use the armor/gear to make a build to easily beat the fight I can't beat without said gear I somehow have to beat the fight in order to get the gear I don't have so I can beat the fight......
The never ending rambling was for humorous purposes.
I'm sorry you had to go through that sort of advice, which doesn't really help at all and if anything it just brings more frustration about the trials. The build I used for the Trials, as I said, is my The Stunning Tank build. If you checked the video, you can see you just need the Mystical Heirloom to fight the trolls and get the armour set and everything else is quite easy to get. I'll check that video when I get back to the game next time. My next main quest is the 2nd vanaheim visit with Freya. I went all around after I got the spear. And then used collection guides for what I couldn't find myself. Now the last two trolls to wake, I believe are in vanaheim.
The center arena muspelheim challenges (the final six) that unlock with the two rune combinations are a 100 times harder than any of the 9 it takes to get there. Which were challenging enough, themselves. Failing their respective conditions more so than dying. But, the final six, straight up murdered me just a pinch of the way in, everytime. And my build is almost 300 strength (280-290+ by testing load outs a little), 220 runic, just over 300 defense, and the rest low at 50s and 60s. But, with the 300 defense, the enemies in those challenges still killed me in two or three hits! Like, each hit removed a quarter, third, or half the health bar.
Do you think I should do the berserker fights to use their rewards on the muspelheim challenges, or should I do the muspelheim challenges and use its' rewards against the berserker fights?
@@matthewsaenz5080 it's best to do all the bersekers first and leave the King for the very end. Go for the trials after the bersekers and after you complete them all, go for the king and gna for the last two things to do. Thanks again for watching and trying my builds.

But I have a problem with the Bersec king, I take a lot of life from him, but halfway through he escapes me and goes up in the air out of my range like he stops being stunned, do you know what I'm doing wrong?
Activates bifrost storms, spartan fury, frey poison, time vortex, I do chains with my axe, but he stops being stunned and runs away
@Piotr Mączyński that can happen brother. There is no way to prevent it from happening or to stop him from flying away. Basically, it ultimately is a bit of luck and positioning yourself slightly to his right. My experience and testing says he tends to fly to the right more frequently than to the left. So, if you position yourself slightly to his right, he gets kinda stuck between you and the wall, and fails to actually fly away. But again, this also depends on a bit of luck. I had to try like 10 times to manage to record the video. 😅

@Piotr Mączyński you didn't forget anything as far as I could understand you. As I said, in the end it does require a little bit of luck and patience. You have to keep trying it, until it comes out perfectly.
What should Leviathan Axe skill tree look like in terms of mod tokens?
I use increased stagger on every time that is available. If that is not available, I go with momentum. But ultimately speaking, that should not make a difference when it comes to the effectiveness of the build. Thanks for watching the video and supporting the channel . Appreciate it 🙏
At the beginning my sonic arrows don’t activate the effect as fast as you, and my permafrost gauge doesn’t fill up nearly as fast as yours; I’m not taking any damage when I’m charging it either I’m not sure what’s different
I'm pretty sure for your description of your experience that the most likely reason is the difficulty you are playing. This build video, as well as most of my build videos, is recorded on Give Me Balance. This is simply to give the average player (most players play on Give Me Balance or lower difficulties) a more accurate idea of what to expect. If you are playing on higher difficulties, especially on GMGOW, you will find that the Sonic status and the permafrost both take longer to build up. Either way, thanks for watching my content and commenting my video.
Tried this build and managed to kill GNA. Didn't _exactly_ get it right but wore her down using other attacks. A note for those trying either, especially King Berserker. Your Timing has to be PERFECT, especially on the Runic Attacks. If the King moves away (He usually jumps to his right), especially when doing the Axe Light Runic Attack, you are SCREWED. Start again. If you even have a chance of pulling it off the King cannot move. This was the same for GNA but I got very lucky.

@amaplelog3101 trying to do so, but a bit short on ideas now as I have pretty much covered every single possible build and challenge in the game for the time being. Until NG+, there's no reason for me to play the game a fourth time. Lol. Gotta wait for Hogwarts Legacy now for some fresh content. So here's the thing I've seen a lot of people say niflheim and asgard are better what are your opinions on that?
Thank you for taking the time to watch and to comment. My opinion on enchantments is very simple: it depends massively on your build. Asgard enchantment set can be good if: 1) you have a high stat for cooldown and 2) you use TRIANGLE abilities often. If these two are not a thing for you, than the enchantment set will be giving you no benefit at all for your build . As for niflheim's enchantment set, it's a different story. Even with not such massive DEFENSE stat from more Tanky armour sets, you will always have 300+ defense. No matter what you are using. And on top of that, you will always be above 75% HP at some point. But if you play with parries and avoid getting hit as much as possible, than this increased melee attack damage will be even more constant, making this an easy choice and one of the best enchantment sets. The higher your defense, the higher the bonus as well. So, if you check my other build videos, you'll see I use the niflheims set quite a lot due to his versatility. I hope this helps answering your question.
Thank you on your explanation on this build….I used the first version against Gna and managed to beat her but after multiple attempts….However when I used the first version on King Hrolf this didn’t work well and he always beat the crap out of me….Now am using the second version against him but there’s a recurring problem: after I do the three consecutive runic attacks and activate the storm of biftost, I immediately activate valour and just before I activate frost the moron manages to flee…Is there a way to leep him in place so that I can activate the realm shift and the runic summon so as to engage him with the combo? Thanks
Thank you for your support by watching the videos, commenting and trying my builds. Unfortunately the answer is no. There is nothing you can actually do to "keep him in place". What you can do however is adapt. Use the three runic and activate valour. As soon as you finish activate valour, activate Freya's poison, but hold the permafrost and the realm shift and let him do his "fly away" thing. Close the gap and be prepared to parry. As soon as he attacks you, parry him and this should leave him stunned just long enough to activate the permafrost and follow up with the realm shift and finish him off. This is how I do it when he decides to his "fly away" thing after the third runic against me. I hope this helps. Let me know if it worked for you brother

@robingp go for it man. And stay calm, be patient. It's key to make it work. And if you have to just restart the fight, do it. Its better than panicking and getting killed.
Should I proceed with this build when fighting normal monsters other than bosses?
The build is extremely powerful, no matter the enemies your fighting. So, I would recommend using it 100% of the time. Just remember to manage your talisman usage and your runic attacks well during mob fighting. You are vulnerable when using the talisman, as you'll take more damage. But during normal combat, you're good to go.
Not working for me as of 02/19/2023 - only get him about half the health,... not sure what i am missing yet feel as if i am following the build and steps to build damage buffs,...
What difficulty are you playing on sister? This build video is recorded on Give Me Balance. On higher difficulties it doesn't work as well as you see here, but on similar or lower difficulties it should work exactly as shown if you are doing everything right as shown in the video. Is there a solution for this?, I'm on GMGOW difficulty, so the permafrost doesn't charge at all, so, can I go to kill some enemies first and charge the permafrost first?, Or can u charge it while I combat with the king?
Permafrost charges while in combat. In GMGOW it just charges at a slower rate. But the main thing is to avoid taking damage. If you take damage, the permafrost gauge goes back to zero. Also, if you check the Spear Attachement, it says: "Hiting an enemy afflicted with Sonic builds the permafrost faster and deals extra damage." So make sure he is afflicted with Sonic while comboing the runic attacks. I hope this helps. Thanks again for the support

@toonylcfc781 there isn't such a button I'm afraid. It is to do with luck and how staggered he gets. But mostly luck. I had to just restart checkpoint as many times as I needed for him or her to not fly too far away. In the end, it's patience that makes it work brother. Don't let it get on your nerves

I take it you're talking about the light runic attack? You mash R1 for further hits and in the end Triangle to detonate the spears.
what about Freya's sword? which 1 is the best to use against the king?
I always use the one that builds up bifrost. Not that she lands a lot of hits with her sword. Unfortunately she is very useless when it comes to that, but I do believe that is still the better option. Thank you so much for watching and for your comment.

The reason being, it helps the average player (90% of the players play on GMB pr lower difficulties) to understand what damage output to expect. I apologise it created this confusion. I find that parrying whatever attacks that can be parried is the best way to go and dodging those that cannot be parried to be the only solution. @@cadimagamingplace my friend just a simple question.. I look for all the yeggdradsil dew the 11 pieces..I found the second one for strength but I didn't find the second one for vitality it's like a glitch.. I have a platinum in the game and everything.
@7ka281 they don't count for the platinum trophy. And if you have your build exactly like mine, including the enchantments, than the only possible explanation is the missing drop of yggdrasil

Im playing in give me no mercy difficulty and im not able to stunlock any berzerker with the spear runic attack so i cant build up permafrost :(
This is because with the release of the latest patch and the inclusiom of NG+, the devs also added a special features to all bosses and big enemies, called "Runic Shield". This prevents stun-locking them into place using Runic attacks and allows the bosses not only to move but also to attack you during your Runic attacks to build-up the permafrost. I know this sucks as it does impact the majority of the builds, but keep an eye on the Boss HP bar while fighting it and you will see an icon there for when the Runic Shield is actually active. During these periods, focus on landing normal attacks and most importantly avoid getting hit so you don't lose the build-up you had so far. Once the icon disappears, go "All-in" on landing as many Runic Attacks as you can. I hope this helps brother. Thanks for watching my content and support the channel grow

I believe this isn’t working on the King as well it did in your video anymore. Doing exactly what you do, yet my damage is so much less.
That's exactly what I see, 3 runics in the row, active bifrost storm, realm shift - nope, each axe strike combo takes maybe a small bar of health from the beast, not even close to what all these youtubers show. Then you just die immediately. I don't know what is going on here, maybe they all have very early not updated game version where such trick wasn't patched it.
Brother, this video is recorded on Give Me Balance difficulty and it works to this day just as well. My game is fully updated and I don't use any sneaky tactics to make the build work this well with me. As I just replied to you in your other comment, this works for me every time. If you would like me to demonstrate, I can do it on your game via Share Play whenever you want brother.
My problem is, the enemy is always moving around.
That can be a problem since the release of NG+ and the devs implementing the Runic Shield system on bosses, preventing them from getting staggered. A way to try to work around this is to wait for the moment the Runic Shield is down, to than detonate the boss as quick as possible as shown in the build video. It takes practice and timing to be able to pull it off, but it is possible. Thanks for watching the video and supporting the channel. Appreciate it 🙏

Ya, I've tried this and lost 100 times and still counting...constantly jumping in air...timing it all is the hard part.

Replicated the build. Those three runic attacks do not fill permafrost meter, even in Give Me Balance difficulty. The one made with blades does not fill anything at all. Tried replacing with other Runic attacks but then other issues with holding him in place comes up.
Are you by any chance getting hit between combos? If you get hit, permafrost gauge goes down. For the build to work to perfection you have to ensure you do not get hit or your permafrost will reset. If you do everything exactly like in the video, you should be able to get the permafrost ready, as long as you do not get hit brother.

No not NG+… and yes exactly the same setup. I can fill it when I swap vidars with pyres, but then losing a bunch of strength so no point. The runic attacks of blades and axe do not fill much. Anyway, he’s dead now so I won’t be visiting him for a while…

@blackpicasoful I suspected as much, cause I was equally surprised, but the other way around. I first used it on GMGOW and it was ok. But once I changed to GMB for the build video I was like "Uuuuoooh, this is even easier with the permafrost being available already."

You build got nerfed or you are playing on easy mode. I replicated your build but it doesnt make that amount of damage
This video was recorded on Give Me Balance. But the build works well enough (obviously not the same though) in GMGOW. Also, in NG+, you should also expect different (lower) damage output results. Some of the pieces do require you to advance in game as far as killing Heimdal, but most of them can be acquired fairly early. Not sure there will be a 3.0 though. I guess it depends on what NG+ brings to the table in terms of rewards. 😁

Although it can be done and I have done it myself plenty of times, even at even lower levels. But my aim is to provide help to players, not to make their life any harder. You have experienced this yourself for what I understand. The moment you got to level 9, the fight became a lot easier for you. 😁

Can confirm this DOES NOT work in New game plus. At all... Lol. I have all the same stuff maxed out for ng+ and my stats are A LOT higher in every category but the king melts you quick even on story mode. I'm sure GNA will be no different.

If you are using the exact same enchantments and the exact same gear and missing a few points in strength, it most likely means you are missing some yggdrasil dews which you collect in the lake/river areas. Also, if you haven't complete "the soup recipe" side quest, you will be missing an increased 5 points to each stat. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I hope this helps
