First time seeying this scene again after beating the game. Crazy how Thor says "feels familiar" when the frozen lighting happens in their first fight. Such a well written story.
It’s actually because before kratos meets his wife (I forgot) fought Thor with the Leviathan axe and created that same lighting frost tree. It’s like in the cluster of vanaheim
I really don't mean to be "that guy", but it isn't well written at all. Ragnarok was actually pretty poorly written. It was only because it was pretty looking and followed a far better game that people are convinced. If you think about it, it starts to appear as it truly is: bad. Or at least, mediocre. I wanted to love Ragnarok, but man is it flawed. Deeply so.
@@jonahvandermel the Tyr "twist" didn't make a lot of sense, and felt like it came out of nowhere (not in a "what a twist" way, but in a pulled it out of our butts for a surprise way), because the director (with no prior experience in game direction at all), thought halfway through development that it would be a cool idea, so they just.. Put it in. Kratos becomes a general for the final battle, but doesn't actually command anyone. He just says he'll do it, but then goes through the battlefield with his pals. The Angrboda moments did nothing of real worth for the plot. There were no big epic GoW moments. Ragnarok (as in the actual event at the end) was rushed, and lasted like 5 minutes. Another example is the rushed time line for Freya to just get over her grudge toward Kratos within a couple short missions. You can see a clear tonal shift between how 2018 tells its story, and how Ragnarok does it. In 2018, there are actions followed by consequences. One thing directly leads to another, and another, and so on. There's a clear through line of story. In Ragnarok, it's a disjointed mess. Some actions do lead to reactions, but then other things just kind of.. Happen. Because the plot needs it to. Watch the director of Ragnarok explain his process for his decisions, and you can clearly see this guy was not a good choice for the job. His decision making wasn't based in a clear understanding of plot flow, but was based in a "would this be cool?" question. There are a good number of videos here on TH-cam that explain the problems of Ragnarok much better than I can when it's late and I'm about to go to bed. I'm far from the only one who noticed the flaws. Even Heimdall doesn't make any sense. Why would the Dropnir be such a challenge? Has he really never faced multiple arrows or bombs before? Ever?
A game like this would be so much fun. Not damaging enemies for 5 minutes straight, but rather just a case of a few successful hits wins. If I do a decapitating swing with an axe, I expect my opponent to die

I love how even with 2 billion strength, the first fight with Thor is still so overwhelming and terrifying, with Kratos getting overpowered all too easily.
If you guys are wondering why he didn’t kill the bosses immediately after damaging them enough, I’m guessing it was because he was trying to avoid soft locks.
I feel like I can empathize with Odin on him wanting to know why he exists. That is something we all ask and will never know. Killing his family over it is understandably unforgiving and the way he manipulates everything is also why he is ultimately the villain. He could've just went about all of it in a complete different way but I do understand the idea of even having a glimpse of the meaning of reality and it driving you crazy.
I love how this max damage makes it look like Kratos gets his ass kicked a lot more, especially in the first Thor fight just because the cinematic parts that get Kratos beat up happen so quickly one after another.
This just makes the game look more cinematic , the transitions between cutscenes is so short that the action feels like nonstop, it's more realistic I feel like
@@rileymartin4935 If you want to spare someone, you have to be able to beat them first, and Odin actually defeated Kratos and Atreus by locking them in place with a spell. It wasn't until Freya arrived and started choking Odin with her binding spell that Kratos and co. had the advantage. Besides, Odin is responsible for a massive amount of unwarranted deceit, betrayals, and deaths (he killed Brok and even his own son, Thor), so I doubt that Kratos would hold back against him. Kratos even says to Odin: "I regret many things. Killing you will not be one of them." after the latter fatally stabs Brok and takes Atreus hostage.
The thing I always find odd about the scene where kratos roars at the end of the first Thor fight, Is that he looks Identical to my own father, now deceased. My own father held onto life when missing 80% or so of his organs because of cancer and surgical malpractice, with one kidney missing and the other on 24/7 stage 4 kidney failure. Even so, He died peacefully in his recliner, no pain, no suffering, no drama, every bit as muscular as kratos, with the same kind of beard, an what really gets me, is the character and my dad, had the exact same bone structure and collagen, same facial structure. The same one I see looking back at me in the mirror with I brush my hair.
I have to commend the way you're fighting the bosses. I mean you could kill them all with an R1 combo and leave it at that but you made these look pretty damn cool and in-character.
The fight with Thor actually flows really well. It looks like they're trading blows at about the same pace as the cutscenes.

The fact that Kratos held back Mjolnir with his bare hands all by himself AT ALL is a feat within itself.
AND THAT'S HOLDING BACK KRATOS.
Especially since Thor needs his magic belt and gauntlets just to be able to lift it in the myths. Kratos just muscled that shit.

I'm impressed the video creator placed spears where he'd jump to in the beginning of the fight, small and easy thing to remember but adds such beauty to kratos and his wits

21:39 Heimdall kept yapping through the beating lmao
First time seeying this scene again after beating the game. Crazy how Thor says "feels familiar" when the frozen lighting happens in their first fight. Such a well written story.
It’s actually because before kratos meets his wife (I forgot) fought Thor with the Leviathan axe and created that same lighting frost tree. It’s like in the cluster of vanaheim
I meant to say kratos wife fought Thor
I really don't mean to be "that guy", but it isn't well written at all. Ragnarok was actually pretty poorly written. It was only because it was pretty looking and followed a far better game that people are convinced. If you think about it, it starts to appear as it truly is: bad. Or at least, mediocre. I wanted to love Ragnarok, but man is it flawed. Deeply so.
@@faded1to3blackcare to provide anything to back that up?
Ever?
the thor battle looks so fluid and perfectly choreographed.. amazing..

Killing his family over it is understandably unforgiving and the way he manipulates everything is also why he is ultimately the villain. He could've just went about all of it in a complete different way but I do understand the idea of even having a glimpse of the meaning of reality and it driving you crazy.

Besides, Odin is responsible for a massive amount of unwarranted deceit, betrayals, and deaths (he killed Brok and even his own son, Thor), so I doubt that Kratos would hold back against him.
