Seriously, this video should be the first thing that pops up when you turn the thing on the first time. They just get you downloading apps on your phone and creating avatars, then you're on your own. It'd be nice if they included a tour like this and a few demos to get you oriented.

@@thehound1359 not in the slightest. Graphics are nice, lenses are way better than the Q1, games library is better than before. My only complaint is I have a bit of a Mura effect on mine, but it's not really immersion breaking

I bought 3rd party headset with built in battery pack. So much more comfortable and makes the headset look and feel more substantial

If it’s your account they should just load onto both anyway. If it’s another account in the same house you can app share by setting up a new account in the headset and then selecting app sharing.

my sis is getting this tomorrow for xmas, it does seem a bit complicated to set up hope we can do it. there’s so many buttons and settings 😢 shame it’s not just put it on ur head and the popular games like rec room included

I just got Meta Quest 3 and have a problem. It looks like Meta Quest 3 can't be activated without smartphone with installed mobile app in it. I don't use a smartphone. Can it be activated by using PC? If a smartphone is the only option is there any specific requirement for smartphone? Would Motorola Moto g54 for example do the job?
How long does it take to charge with an actually good cable?(like the 240w cable with the anker block that you can get from wlamart) and how long can you keep it plugged in before the quest shitty build quality decays the shitty battery?

What is the quest 3? Block diagrams are nice... I think it has CPU, ram, storage, and networking, so what does it do with your phone... is the networking just bluetooth so it uses the phone for wifi?
You only need the phone for initial setup really. You can cast to it and also buy games and it links via WiFi.
I have a rift s and now also a quest 3. How do you get in the virtual room ? I know on rift s i auto log in the room when i turned it on
Just double tap on the side of the headset or select the small headset icon on the bottom left of the menu bar
That works great. But in steam you got the steam home menu where u can select your games in steam vr oculos had the same a house where u can edit stuff ( Oculus Home's ) . cant find that on the quest ? or is that only for older oculos hardware ?

@@EatSleepVR aaah :( found the new place. For me it didnt load. But i had t start steam vr op pc then when its loaded turn on quest 3 and then launch steam. Then the steam vr room runs fine.
So I got a quest three and I have all my games but every one of them reset progress. I have cloud save and don’t know how to get my progress back

Do I need Wi-Fi? Do I need any other devices? Is this a standalone product?
You need Wi-Fi for setting up and also for some games. It’s standalone headset with no cables needed and no other products.
How do I quickly switch between controls and hands? It says to bump them together and then place them on a flat surface but it doesn’t do anything for me. I always have to go to quick settings and manually select hand gestures
You have to bump them three times and then they switch. Also you can select in the menu to auto switch to hands and then you just need to put the controllers down and move your hands around to switch over.
Got mixed reality have static everywhere like wobbly vision but it's fine in game, tried flicking light switches, shutting curtains any ideas?

Yeah literally unboxed and it's crackly nothing like TH-camr videos I guess because video is recorded from inside the games. I thought it was broken seems a refresh rate issue. What do you do when it says continue setup in meta quest mobile app ?? Are something like that
Download the app on your phone and then you have to connect it to the headset and it will prompt you to input a code
Are there pre installed games with the Quest 3?
Only first steps and a mixed reality game just to introduce you to the headset. There are plenty of free games and demos you can easily download though

This is usually because it’s not connected to WiFi so check your WiFi connection
I noticed when the the quest 3 charges it takes around 60 seconds per power percentage point. So in other words 100 % charge takes a little longer than 100 minutes.
It took even longer than that on mine - I’m using the Quest 2 cable and plug, I wonder if the speed has improved with the Quest 3 cable/plug - I should swap it out really, I was being lazy lol
@@EatSleepVR I may be wrong since I haven't bought the Quest yet, but the Q2 official charger gives 5v 2A = 10 Watts and the Q3 official charge gives 9v 2A = 18 Watts, so, yes, it should charge faster.
To me one of the best thing about this head set is that there are no wires for me to trip over

I am so confused by how I'm supposed to put this thing on. I need both of my hands to tighten the strap in the back, so how am I also supposed to hold the lenses in front of my face at the same time?
You only Ned to hold the lenses for the top strap. Adjust the back strap with both hands first. You can even adjust it roughly while it’s off your head first.
I just set up my sons quest 3 and some of the images seems blurry. Any tips?
The main thing is to check the ipd (use the lens distance wheel and the ipd measure app) as this can cause blur. Also the images won’t be as sharp as a standard games console or as sharp as any of the screen records you see on TH-cam. The pass through cameras are grainy and a bit soft as well. If you know someone else that has one that’s the only way to

Mine is grainy as well - the recording probably makes it look better than it is - the more light you have the better the image

Is the pass through supposed to be super grainy? The menu and words are clear but everything else is really blurry
Unfortunately the pass through isn’t perfect and there is still a lot of grain and blur. The videos on TH-cam will always look better than what you see with your own eyes - the same with the game play, the video recording is always better.

Meta suggest no younger than 10 years old for the quest 3. The headset and hand controllers would probably be too big for a 5 year old.

In mixed reality the room isn’t sharp, it is blurry unfortunately. You can double check your ipd and make sure your lenses are set up correctly but the mixed realty images aren’t perfect.

It is all in one with a built in processor. However you can connect it to a computer via wifi or high speed USB cable.

How do you drop something in a game
The inside trigger is usually the grip button so you should be able to release it and you will drop what you are holding

When I use the quest 3 the black space is really noticeable. It really makes it hard to play a game and I can’t fix it. And the lenses sometimes overlaps in my vision.
Have you used the ipd app to measure and set your ipd correctly? Black space where?
@@EatSleepVR i used the app, and I can see the space between the lenses, and they overlap with my vision. So I see like the image and then in the middle of it like the edges of the lenses. And I’ve set the ipd to every setting.

I make mine bigger but it still seems to look small when it’s recorded
This is all great but there is no info on how to actually set it up. I want to see someone actually use the QR code option, because when I tried to set mine up it was not an option. How come no video shows that part of set up.
