    Other great tips from guests:
    -Always flush water hose and valve before you hook up the water to your RV
    -Connect the water pressure regulator to the valve end, then connect the hose. This will prevent a blowout if the water pressure is too high.

    What a great video!! Thanks for making and sharing. Our biggest question for our camper is we would like to clean our holding tank but we have a city and holding tank in 1 connection like the camper shown in this video at the 7:20 point. We have bought the cleaning fluid as also mentioned in this video but since our connection is a pressurized gravity connection we can not figure out how to put that cleaner in! Any suggestions, adapters? Thanks!

    Great Video! I have an NW Arctic Fox truck Camper, 2017, and am trying to find a video on proper filling and draining the system. I filled it, but there is a flow of water underneath from (i think) an overflow or drain valve, I'm not sure if I closed ALL water valves, the user's manual is vague AT BEST and has no pictures. Do you have videos for Truck Campers????

    hi very informative video- I need to install a bypass valve because my unit does not have one, there is one built into the waterpump I am told but I'm not in a place to replace the water pump just now. where in the line would you suggest splicing into the line to install this bypass valve?

    I have a older (2000) 32' Class C & my last trip I was unable to take on city water or fill fresh tank. I took out the two-way valve that separates the two fill inlets and replaced with a piece of double male threaded pipe. I was still unable to take on water. Suggestions?

      Did you ever figure this out? does the pump ever run? does it run all the time or when you open a faucet? I'm not sure if it's serviceable but i think they have a pressure switch of some kind that tells the pump to run, which could be defective or disconnected if it is not running at all. Also, the RV could be winterized and the pump might be bypassed or something. Be interested to know if you figured out.

      He talked a bit about working with your fresh water tank, as well as hooking up to a city water connection. I assume he was talking about the pump, in the case that one might be using their fresh water tank.

    I have a 2013 Thor ACE 29.2 RV with low water pressure when using a water pump. Also, when connected to city water, my fresh water tank overflows. I've contacted Thor factory experts and could not come up to a solution. I could not find a location of a check valve. My water pump was replaced recently. I would appreciate any help.

    • @TGORVCO
      @TGORVCO  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Sam, sounds like a valve is not turned the right way. Im assuming everything was working properly BEFORE the new water pump was installed? I would consult the folks who did your water pump replacement.
      Happy Camping, Tom

    • @Edwardsjourney
      @Edwardsjourney 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My water pressure is fine but on our last outing while connected to city water, our fresh tank also started to over flow. I turned off the city water and drained the fresh water tank and then gave the water pump a few taps with a wrench, thinking there should be a check valve stuck open. I then turned on the city water and it seemed to do the trick. The fresh water tank did not fill up or over flow again.

    I have hard water. Is it ok to use the water from my water softener? (Salt water)

    • @jeremyspecce
      @jeremyspecce 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not an authority on hard water but I was reading that hard water (or, i guess salt treated hard water) will eat away a lot faster on the anode in your water heater. I guess untreated hard water will build up more deposits, so if that's the case you'd probably prefer the inexpensive thing that's meant to be expendable to be expended faster rather than dealing with all the other hard water issues.

    • @paulmaxwell8851
      @paulmaxwell8851 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I can add to this conversation, yes, you may be replacing your tank anode a bit more often. But that's not a big deal, or expensive. Go ahead and use softened water, and check your anode once a year at the end of the season. If ANY of the wire core is showing, replace it. Easy!

    • @TGORVCO
      @TGORVCO  ปีที่แล้ว

      @lisaashby1837 Be sure to have your RV's water system set to city water and not your fresh tank, as well as making sure your water pump is turned off. Give us a call at 970-313-4337 if you run into any other problems

    How many gallons does a fresh water tank hold on the average.?

    • @TGORVCO
      @TGORVCO  ปีที่แล้ว

      On smaller travel trailers you can expect fresh water tanks to be anywhere from 20 to 40 gallons while fifth wheels can have fresh tanks up to 100 gallons. Check with your manufacturer to confirm the tank size on your RV for the most accurate info!

    Cant find a single help on a trickling water flow from city water line hook up. No leaks, no filters on taps. No in-line water filter, but very weak water flow.

      I remember hearing about problems caused by a handheld faucet nozzle being closed despite the nobs being opened. I think it was an issue with luke warm water and not pressure, but still something to consider.

    • @jeremyspecce
      @jeremyspecce 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you clarify what you are saying here, Jason? ( a year later, I know )

    • @paulmaxwell8851
      @paulmaxwell8851 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, a regulator IS a good idea. My brother-in-law lives in Williams Lake, B.C. and his city water pressure is 116 psi! That's wayyyy too high and I installed a regulator to get that pressure down to 50 psi for his irrigation system. It was blowing the seals in the zone valves. That kind of ridiculous pressure can damage your RV plumbing system too, so play it safe and install a regulator. It's not expensive.
