Hello buddy, i see you have a new autel, Do you not use the ds708 you had to do a injector recode before.. Because i have the old autel you once had and i cant seem to recode an injector on my 159, Been thinking about buyin the new autel 808 bt tool..
Always nice to see these kind of videos from You. Very helpfull. Thank You Bruno! Any plan on doing purchase guide on 159/156 and older Alfas ? (Where You mention common faults, oil leaks in the engine so on...)
Hi Bruno thanks once again for sharing I just would to know what Autel model number you using and if can make a review on your machine it would be highly appreciated thanks
My 1.9 jtd 115hp in a Stilo starts with such loud knock when it's very cold, like -15 celsius. Starts right away but knock very loud for a split second. Does that mean my injectors start to go bad?
Thought I'd share my own near death experience caused by injector failure on my 156 GTA a couple of months ago. Had just refuelled when all of a sudden the engine control failure warning came on, and she started billowing smoke out the exhaust and running rough. Pulled over and turned off, thinking maybe dirty fuel needed to clear. Attempted to restart - tick tick CLUNK - then silence. Nothing thereafter. No crank. Dashlights on, but nothing else. I was terrified it had done a timing belt (replacement not due for another year) - but on inspection I could see the belt was intact. Then thought it may be even worse (big end?). Had the car trucked to the workshop and relayed my fears. On their initial visual inspection, suggestion was maybe it had dropped a valve or similar - whatever, it was not looking good. Left the car with them and asked them to get back to me when they'd had a chance to properly diagnose just how bad it was. I was convinced I'd killed the engine - even went as far as identifying a potential replacement 3.2L on the other side of Australia, and scouted out potential engine rebuilders. Two weeks later I dropped by the workshop. Car was no longer visible. That's good - or maybe bad... The shop owner sees me and waves at me to come in - the car is running!! Long story short - they worked out one of the injectors on the rear bank had failed fully open. That cylinder then became fully flooded with fuel - basically the engine was hydrolocked with petrol, hence no crank. Luckily it did no damage to the con-rods or anything else. Shop replaced the injector (and failures so rare, they are never held by anyone in stock...) and the rear coil packs (one had an intermittent fault so sensible to do all three while they had access). While testing showed no fuel was present in the sump, I also got them to replace the oil and filter for my peace of mind. And she was good to go - I've now just passed 270,000km and the GTA remains my dependable daily driver. Phew...
Wow! That is a one I a million failure! It's a bit common on piezo electric diesel injectors, but on gasoline I have never seen or heard of it. Glad everything turned out nice
Another fantastic video! I had the injectors out of my 1.9 16v recently, but I have bubbles coming up from around the injectors. I cleaned and cut the seats, used a new copper washer and torqued the clamp to 28nm. What could be causing the blow by and how can I fix it? Thanks!
@@alfaromeonoproblem there is a well of diesel sitting around the injectors from when I fitted the rail, and I am seeing bubbles coming up through that. I don't think the copper washer is sealing the cylinder properly.
Hello. Here in Portugal next to none 2.2 were sold here. I just saw one or two, I never even did a service on one. I have zero experience on those, sorry.
I replaced fuel injectors for C250 and i have intermittent cylinder 2 misfires, you think need to coding new fuel injectors or coding not related to misfire issues ?
With MultiScanECU you can code all injecros no need to restart car every time, which i think it's a nonsense in this diagnostic software. its not needed to restart ecu.
Also you did not clean (with special tool, that removes tiny layer of aluminium) where washers goes. it will not make good seal and will leak gases at some point in time,. I doubt that your soft tool u used to clean injector holes have done good job.. maybe it did, but... i doubt. usually it's carbon daposits thatare hard to remove,.
MAJOR NO NO in thsi video is to leave fuel lines open! Those are VERY VERY snesetive! if injector will get particle of size of 10 micrometers (size of human hair), it may block the injoctor. The problem with your videos is that you have expirience and may not get in such situations, but many viewers are noobs and watching video where fuel lines are not secured from contamination is the ticket to a problems for noobs. Also not marking how much they were thightened and so on, its easy to overtight if it's in diesel. I also would not go to a mechanic that is so irresponsible about contamination. This job have to be done after engine is cleaned and everything from it blown away. Those injector problems may be caused by such previuos service jobs. where people do not follow basic rules and ruined injectors.
The best channel for Alfa Romeo owners. Helped me many times.
Thank you very much for your support
Good Job!!!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for video, it's very helpfull for Alfa Romeo owners 👏👏👏
So glad I found this channel! I got the same spider. 2.4 jtd from 2007. Thank you for these great videos! Greetings from Belgium. :)

I did two videos for that on 156, will also do for 147 and GT. For the 159, not yet

We do not have those temperatures here in Portugal. I do not have that experience to advise you

@adampower1193 hello. 100% the injectors themselves. The copper washer only seals the combustion.
Remove the injectors and send them to be repaired
Is this procedure effectively the same for a 2.2 JTS engine?
So I am assuming you sent the injectors off to be refurbished.
Good video. N
For the JTS, they can only clean the injectors and replace the micro filter (mesh) inside it. That is it. :/
