as on Stelvio oil filter is hard to reach and messy (rarely someone uses/knows drain screw.), some mechanics do not change filter, only oil...i guess even without warning light, over time bearings can be damaged.

Had this changed at my brera 2.0jtdm at 175k km, until the 300k km that has now, never appeared, so overall once in that long time I wouldn't consider it as a problem.

I am thinking about giulia with 2.2 jtd but judging by your movie and opinion read on groups, forums I would rather stay with my 159 1.9 8v jtd. :D , btw. to avoid warning message after oil change you could filled up a filter.

We made an aluminum replacement with Viton O-rings (heat, oil, and fuel resistant, better than the regular NBR), so far doing well in a Ducato 2.0 Multijet.

I had similar oil pressure fault with my psa 2.2hdi engine. Did change oil pressure sensor, oil filter housing, original oil filter and oil pump. However all those do not fix the problem. Quite frustrated. Lastly we had to change main and conrod bearing. Then no more oil pressure issue. I wonder why alfa designed 2.2 engine using only 3litres oil and 0w20 grade? Btw bruno, great and super informative video.

Man i have a problem , the 3d gear is jumping when car is runing on road, bt if i hold a bit pushed is ok , also when engine is runing i cant put in 4th gear , wont enter? is the gearbox faulty ... the mounts? cables from gear box seems ok ... ty alot for ur input!

Superb effort, with a mechanic who has words of wisdom such as 'smooth is fast', really liked that. For this car, it s a pity than the root cause will not be found, although interesting assumptions were made. There are lots of threads on alfa forums that would take benefit of this hands on experience. Having the oil pressure monitored with data logging/odb or other means would be of help, to validate or invalidate the assumprions made in the video. About the video format, it is clearly too long, in these days of low attention span in the general public . To increase views, liekely worth to have such video scattered in several videos, named by theme. e.g. removing sub frame, oil sump remove and install, road test and rambling etc Keep on the good work anyhow!

Hello , just to let you know that the early OIL PUMPS on this good engines ( 2.2 and 2.0 jtdm) 180 hp are faulty and can ruin the engine , there is an upgrade that Alfaromeo sells

Thanks for your video, I have an Alfa Mito 1.3 multijet with 178,000 km and it eats 1kg of oil every 500 km, 5w 30 with a hot engine, when the oil cap is lifted the vapors come out, in my case it could also be the piston rings glued? Unfortunately the previous owners neglected maintenance. Or could I already have the bands to replace because they are already worn out? 177,000 thousand km for a 1.3 could it already be time to replace them or could they really just be glued? Grazie per il vostro video, ho un alfa mito 1.3 multijet con 178000 km e mangia un 1kg di olio ogni 500 km , 5w 30 a motore caldo sollevando il tappo del olio escono i vapori, potrebbero essere anche nel mio caso le fasce elastiche incollate? Purtroppo i precedenti proprietari hanno trascurato le manutenzioni. Oppure potrei avere già le fasce da sostituire perché già consumate? 177000 mila km per un 1.3 potrebbe essere già ora di sostituirle oppure davvero potrebbero solamente essere incollate? Grazie Bay

Hi, I have a weird issue with my Alfa 147 key, I have to unlock the car manually which only unlocks the drivers door. When I turn ignition on all doors open, I can drive the car without problem, after parking it I can use the key normally to lock the car and open the boot but after a few minutes it stops working again. I have changed the battery in the key, disconnected battery for 10 minutes, checked fuses and still the same problem. Do you know what could cause this ? I hope it’s not an ecu problem

Hi Bruno thanks for sharing good to see you are overwhelmed with work.I love Alfa in diesel it has lots of power and very economical and efficient here in South Africa we are very limited with Alfa diesel models we have the Alfa 159 jtdm 2.4,the 1.47 jtd and the Gt 1.9 jtd no Giulietta no mito in diesel.Someday I will come visit you in Portugal and we can make video together

Hi. You have probably worked on dCi engines as well. A friend from work has Clio II 1.5 dci (later model, with electric power steering). It happend to him while driving at 60 km/h in gear, lost all power, rpm dropped to 0, and all kinds of warning light came on (battery light, oil pressure). The car was in gear, so if the engine had shut off, it would show some revs. But here is was showin zero. I am thinking crankshaft pissition sensor, or something in the instrument pannel? I have checked the battery with a teater. 100% state of charge, but just over 500A, while the battery is rated at 750A. The tester says "battery good". The car has done 330.000 km.

Hello! I was wondering, my Alfa Romeo 147 recently started doing really high pitched beep sounds from the passenger side. It only appears when I go into reverse. I cannot explain it, I was told it is the noise when something is wrong with the selespeed/gearbox but there’s no errors showing. No errors on dashboard or when you are reading the car codes. Nothing. What could that be? I have a video, if it helps I can send it somewhere

On my 159 TBi i did it the "lazy" way. I had worn fluid which was still slightly greenish so i extracted it over a week with a syringe and filled it with green Liqui moly hydraulic fluid. So i extracted about 250-400ml in a session, drove the car a bit and repeated till i got about 2,5L and now it's still green after half a year. I just did that as part of preventitive maintance, the steering was fine before i did that but after doing that steering still got a bit better and the engine needs less work to spin the powersteering pump (i heard the engine rev a bit on my parking lot and after changing it wasn't reving as hard and sometimes it doesn't even need to rev at all ;D )

What can cause a vibration in just the first gear of a Fiat Doblo 1.9 JTD?

On forum i read that usually the bad idle could be the connector of the pressure sensor on the rail. I mean for this multijet2 engine, 1.6, 2.0 and 1.9tt.

Not even 100k km and so much damage. Injectors, pump, turbo, dpf 😲 That had to be expensive as hell 😔

I have AR 159 SW, 2.0 jtdm, 125 kw EGR off, with softwear 2 Injectors rebulit turbo rebuilt swirl flaps removed Engine runing very vell oil consumption is around 300 ml for almost 5000 km BUT the DPF regeneration is every 300-325 km, oil consumption is around 300 ml for almost 5000 km. Is it OK?
