i have an opel/vauxhall vectra c which also uses the 1.9 jtd engine (ctdi is the name for opel) and a double mass flywheel I hope to never hea that sound, I cannot afford it hahaha

I had the same problem this winter. Replaced starter for a stronger 2.2kw one and now it starts like new car again. One of my injectors is weaker too but the new starter fixed my problem

Hey, thanks for your videos. Is this the same as the 188A2000 engine of the Punto mk2 1.9 JTD? I was wondering whether I should use full synthetic 5w40 oil instead or the recommended 10w40. What are your thoughts on that? Cheers
Hello. Yes, it's the same engine. It will tolerate very well 10w40, for Portuguese climate, 5w40 is excellent.
@alfaromeonoproblem thanks for your reply. I was thinking that 5w40 full synthetic would have less noack evaporation rating that's why I was thinking of switching to 5w40 because it's difficult to find a 10w40 full synthetic. My intake manifold has a lot of gunk because of the pcv and egr and I was thinking I would reduce oil evaporation by using a 5w40 mid or full saps for good protection and with a better noack number. Thoughts?

I just changed 2 thermostats and still the water temp goes down to 73-75 degrees when I turn the heater blower on. If I drive it normally without turning on the heat, the temp will rise to 87-88 degrees max. I checked the big coolant hose with my hand while the engine is warming and it only gets hotter after it reaches 87 degrees so it means that the thermostat is opening correctly. Is the coolant temp drop normal for this engine?
I have Just found the problem.When a bulb inside is burned out, this problem is occured.change the bulb and use your control panel again.

Here in the UK alternative fuels have never really been popular, although LPG has been available for 30 years as an aftermarket fitment for the likes of old petrol Range Rovers and Mercedes MLs but not direct from the vehicle manufacturer.
Hi Bruno, in my 147 jtdm 8v with DPF (2010) if I use the EGR plate with the three holes, i have error P0401 insufficient egr flow. Now, i swapped my old EGR with new Marelli one because it was too dirty and hard to move, i have no error using the "normal" open gasket but when i try the plate with the small holes it gives error (only on diagnostic, no engine light right now). In EPER i see with my VIN the plate 55226183 with the three holes, but maybe i need slightly larger holes? I really like using it because it reduces fuel consumption, better turbo response, less soot in intake and it gets rid of the "sawing" at around 2000rpm and light accelerator pedal. Any suggestion?
ECU is EDC16C39 CF4 like the later alfa 159s, not many 147s had this in my understanding
Hi man ! First I would like to thank you for your amazing explanations which I’ve followed perfectly to get the best synchronisation of this engine and now I know it’s the best way to do this job. Secondly, after doing this belt synchronisation 4 times perfectly with the engine running for over 30 minutes, after shutting off the engine, the intake cam only gets off (unsynchronized) about 3 to 4 teeth. I’ve redone it 3 times and always the same results… engine starts, run perfectly and at one point the synchronisation gets off only on the intake. Tensioner is new with the right belt tension. I don’t know what is wrong with this engine. Could you help me out to understand this problem please ? Thank you for doing those videos passionately 🙏

@ I’ve checked and it’s the right one with 163 tooth like the old one that was on the engine before
@nicolasbertet9949 that's odd. But do not check by the timing marks on the belt. Those will not align ever again
@ yes I’ve followed all your suggestions but I think I found the problem. The variator was not super tight on the cam shaft so when I was turning off the engine with the right synchronisation, it was pulling the pulley and the variator on the opposite side and un tightened the variator. Which explains why I would have only the intake out of timing. I’m trying tomorrow to tighten the variator with some loctite and I will post the update so if someone encounters this problem there will be my explanation

My Giulietta is a converted LPG one. I always use LPG. Just makes financial sense. Also cleaner than both Petrol and Diesel. More power too when using TURBO. Well done on repair
Yes, more pover due to higher octane rating of the LPG, where ECU can raise the turbo pressure. But the problem remains, LPG does not provide cooling effect of the petrol, and also combusts at 30% higher temperarure. Not good in the long run, especially with a lot of sporty driving.
@@DashCamSerbia ok. However I have been running LPG the last 25 years. Last car 480,000 KM and current car on 330,000 KM. Previous cars all went well too. I do not see any issue once car is serviced correctly. I benefit from almost 50% savings.

Never heard of the 392mm, but I've tried the 398mm and they were useless. I went for Sachs 436mm in the end and they were OK.

Watching your video I have realized that I haven't torque the head bolts correctly. I done only 90 degree. U saved me and thanks a lot! I haven't started the engine, I only need to remove the cylinder head cover and retighten the bolts to the correct torque and angle.

@@alfaromeonoproblem it's a 159 No I'm sur the button is fine because it did that when the car had like a 10 seconde of no sign of life insert the key the car didn't react then I took the key out again and didn't work after a while it works good had all the light Christmas on the dash then they disappeared. Since that moment the button its not working I'm gonna remove the battery for 10 minute to see if its gonna reset ... ( the battery is good to just buy it new 1 year ago )
