  • In this video I install AUXBEAM's new RGB 8-gang controller. I needed more than 4 switches and I wanted some backlighting on my panel so it was time to upgrade! This controller just came out and allows you to adjust the backlighting to match your interior lighting. Also, the ability to group lights together is awesome!
    This is one of the most cost effective switch panels with the most options on the market.
    Here is a link to the controller (paid link): amzn.to/3pBVbjn

      @@WaterFowler41 hi, the add a fuse you mention is it the one that comes in the auxbeam kit or did you have to order something else?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’ll have to get a micro2 add a fuse. The kit doesn’t come with that specific one

      @@WaterFowler41 do you have a link to the one you ordered or is there just one version? Also how did you mount the controller? Did you just leave it sitting on top of the fuse box?

    Do you think connecting the trigger wire to constant power fuse would work without having to turn on to acc or run? Would like to turn on some lights without getting into the car when camping.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the backlighting on the lighting panel would be on all the time if you used a constant power feed so that's probably not a great option.

      I had the same issue. I wanted to be able to utilize some lights without the ACC on. I had a great system in my Jeep that allowed you to do that without constantly drawing power to the panel back light. What I did was run a small cut off switch inside the cab. This allows me to turn on the panel at anytime without turning on anything else. Now I can turn on my bed lights, running board lights, and so on without functioning the ignition at all. I can kill the power with the one switch and there is no drain on the battery.

      Thanks John, I was thinking of adding a switch too.

    Awesome Video and great install. I am looking to do lightwork to my 2019 rebel i.e. Oracle Light Bar, Aux Beam Grill lights, Baja LP 4, and rocker lights. My only question is, what are your thoughts on the Auxbeam vs SPOD? The auxbeam seems to be the kit to Rough Country and some others resellers. Seems like they simply co-brand the unit and sale it.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I’m sure they are all rebranding these switch panels. This particular switch is different than the rough country one because you can change the backlighting with the auxbeam rgb app. With the rc one you cannot.

    Thank you for always putting out these awesome sources of information! I am still scared as shit to do all this on my own. I am planning to get the light bar and brackets you have mounted, I already bought the 3 small lights for the rear and front of the truck (TRX style) but like I said…I’m a p***y LOL. My biggest concern is how to tun these wires underneath and hooking it up to the battery/fuse box😩

    If you’re not planning to have more than 2 or 3 different lights would you recommend this over the old setup or is that the way to go?

      The fact that I can program banks of lights and change the background colors makes this my go to aux panel even if I don’t need all the lights.

    If someone gets stuck with F38 micro fuse, realize the tap in lead with the 5amp fuse. Has a additional slot to transfer your 10 amp fuse, I did not! my dash looked like a Christmas tree. F38 slot is for your TCM, put your 10 amp fuse right under the 5amp fuse.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup both slots need to be filled. 9 times out of 10 if folks are having issues it’s because they missed this.
