I remember a few years ago I tried to put two kicker old school 12 inch l5 in my civic on a bd1500 Fosgate . It sounded horrible from rattling . So I swapped it out for a set of competition tens on simple 300 watt amp . And the music sounded awesome with great bass response nothing ground shaking lol. But my point is these new cars and certain sedans are real thin metal and just not built for heavy bass . Now I see why bass heads pick certain vehicles type for big systems . Keep doing your thing
Sundowns great. My entire team here in british columbia canada run basically nothing but sundown and have some of the highest numbers in our class across canada. Spent more on sundown than most dealers buy-in just in the past 2 months lmfao cant get enough of it

How many watts are you putting through that X15? I got one of these, currently only feeding about 600 watts RMS into it, but I have a 3000 watt rms amp (taramps hd3000) ready for it.
I have a similar style vehicle with sunroof (toyota RAV4) and my roof flexed/rattled like crazy and sounded like a shit tin can.. I had to take the whole headliner off and put sound deadener all on the metal roof panel then put the headliner back on. That helped tremendously. I still had some rattles here and there in other places, but that killed the horrible vibrating sheet metal noise that was eating all the bass. Looks like you may have to do the same
what kind of deadner did you go with mine sounds good on the inside but people faces when i pull up lol they like wtf are you doing hahahhaha i probly get 3inch flex on the roof
@@jenessie385 I used Resonix. It’s more expensive but a higher quality product than most brands out there. Even with that I still had lots of roof flex but the deadener killed the annoying sheet metal rattling noise. To fix the roof flex I ended up making a roof brace out of steel pipe and fittings you can get at Home Depot. Once I did that the lows got so much better. I highly recommend it if you don’t mind a pole in ur car lol

I have wondered this concept for Years personally, as I have never owned bigger than two 12's personally, and have always wondered the genuine trade off with such large woofers, solely because of personally encountering my last set of 3 Sundown SA-8 v.2.s moving up from Two RE Audio SE-X 12's and my three 8's genuinely blew my two 12's out of the water, so I was at a loss, three tiny little 8's putting two beefy 12's to shame. In regards to the previous Comment alluding to Output, was it perhaps Output across the "Sound Stage" or simply more pronounced in a certain Frequency Range?
I just purchased one of these and have an Orion xtrpro 3500 and purchased a custom box,will it be louder than two hcca 10s 4 ohm,sad thing is my sundown SA 12 classics can handle more power,so disappointed in Orion woofers smh,I spent 1100 on two tens just to be pissed and put my sa 12s back in,and v3s smh

Man that is some serious bass , no idea how you are going to get it all dialed in with the sunroof and I noticed that the gas cover was shaking as much as the roof. @@Kpaceguy If I can offer some tips. Sound treat the Entire car. Use Soundskins Pro. Do the entire floorboard, the entire roof, all four doors, the rear door and also the floor board of trunk area, the sidewalls of the trunk area, the hood of the car, also the gas door and the surrounding area. It will make a massive difference. Not only will it sound soo much cleaner, it will hit harder and feel punchier. Also apply to under both license plates and the frame that holds it as well.
To fix the roof you could also mount a sheet of 1/2 or 3/4 MDF board up there and not ever have to worry about that again best in my book and sound deaden the doors and hatch and also spray bed liner on all the rest and then lay 2nd skin down over the bed lining
@@Kpaceguy I mean u could always use birch if you have a deep enough pocket but I understand you some people will and some will not but it's been done in a lot of audio vehicles and in Bobby's Gately Jeep as well he used birch I believe
Had same issue ,2020 kia Optima special edition with full panoramic roof. Cant be fire up or back, down or forward is the only way to some what battle that. My two sa15d4rev3 shake my intire car. Other options the worst option seal the roof. No matter what you will have flex. Sound dampening the intire vehicle might help a little

The XV3s are technically rated for 2000 watts but you can go way over I’m planning on two XV3 15s on a 5k each

Just out of curiosity: did you notice a sound difference (other than output) with the 15 vs have 2 12s?
Yes it's slightly less clean and accurate but does dig deeper

Had the same problem with my roof I recommend layers of second skin sound deadening
There's just no chance of me getting all these panels off easily
I have the same car, what alternator did you go with ?? Did you get a battery light if so?
Went with apex alternators. Good power for the money. Not as good of a warranty as the competition though

I have 2 V.2 x 12's in my avalanche they bang but they're facing inside the cabin, im loosing bass I think, the sub is slamming sir lol.

I bet you at least 30% of your rattling is due to the license plate holders. Swap with silicone ones and re-adjust what you think you need to do.
