Super Stoked to see this video. You went in such depth. Good thing we have a bunch of these at B2AudioUSA would love to see a few of these put in a box.
serusly. i would of never to thought to do that. my object was to try it. hear it sucked. just left it as a nauvalty item. if it was cheap and i got plenty. push it to it pops for shiggles.
Dude, you are genius. Great idea to get it setup. That was awesome. Can't wait for season 2 of boom or bust. Definitely plan on submitting a design this time.
Been watching your vids for over a decade now, always glad to see your still going. I wish I could send you the millions of subs you should have by now my dude ✊🏼
No need to thank me for watching, thank you for putting out this content ! Its been a while, looking forward to S2 also, i'd be keen as mustard to see you try and use a few of these in a car, could make for quite a neat mini series ;)
Luved Big D's introduction to this mini B2 sub, so glad that barevids did one. Although, I always go away from watching most of his videos feeling a bit stupid, lol. I know the science & math to a point but am not an electrical engineer or technician... not good with Trigonometry or Calculous now at 47, have forgotten more than I remember with such things. Thanks, barevids, another great video!
You’ve earned a subscriber! I love your explanation on how everything works and you made it easy for me to understand. I’ve played around with 8’s 10’s 12’s 15’s and 18’s and I love to try to get them to do things they shouldn’t do
So cute. Exactly what you don’t want out of a subwoofer. Awesome video, Sam. Just wanted to say thank you for all your amp repair videos along with Perry Babins amp repair guide. You two have helped me learn so much that I actually got a job repairing PCBs for oilfield electronics repair. It’s more along the lines of logic/ comms which I had a steep learning curve on. Also much lower voltages/ current. However, I repair home/car amps and receivers/preamps for all the local audio shops. I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your knowledge! Seems NO ONE wants to do that for fear of someone “taking” their job. I wish there were classes here locally at the community college to encourage more people to pick up the hobby of electronics. Maybe one day!
Lets see if we can get this youtuber to buy 100 of them and put them in a cabinet? That would be the best audio video ever! Join in everybody? Who wants to see that happen?
I'm so glad to hear boom or bust is coming back, one of my favorite audio seasons! Man I really wish that little 2" could do what it does on the slowed footage, I'd have a few in my office 😂
When I made the suggestion I personally was just thinking about moving more air, didn't realise it actually plays less loud than the "subwoofer" that you've already been using. maybe would be good for a subwoofer "rivalry" different boxes vs each other. just so that if say, someone wanted to test for the 6.5 subwoofers best enclosure it could be tested on the micro scale instead of trying to find some resources online, potentially pulling in more viewers with you already insane videos, I'm a total bass head and enjoy your content, Keep it up man.
boom or bust is one of the coolest bits of audio tech stuff on youtube. My only suggestion is more onscreen images of the math and numbers being simulated. I love it mate.
🫡 you as well sir, thanks for obliging and testing out this awesome little driver! I would love to see a scaled down build with like 4 or 6 of them walled off 4th or 6th order I just think it'd be awesome to see all those little cones dancing away lol
I love that it is a scaled down sub. The qts parameter of 1.36 tells me that to get a decent response would be open baffle or a large box. Or possibly a open back box with rockwool to slow the sound speed down. Could work as a "sub" in a small boombox where the back is vented, but would need more power than the typical speaker due to its inefficiency.
That was sick man, Thanks for doing the video so that we can have a good understanding of that 2" driver. Would love to see some beefy 4" subs from them that could actually be used in like a bluetooth speaker or such
My favorite part about this video is hearing that boom or bust is coming back. I will have to send my 8th order design over. I finished it near the end of season 1 and had intended to make a few changes to make it easier to assemble but gave up on it when you ended the series. I doubt I'll have time to make the changes but maybe I'll send it in it's current form anyway!
I put a 3.5 peerless full range in a red solo cup to find best placement for a car. People that heard it were impressed. When I doubled the cup, performance dropped. Flex in box sounded best filled with poly. The headphone affect was best with speaker facing forward tilted in a bit behind your ear. Not winning any competitions because of sound stage but gives you great immersive feeling. Head rest speakers are highly under rated IMO
Pumped for season 2, i was so invested in that series hahaha. Been 3d printing enclosures for about 5 years now haha. Got a bunch of odd horn designs and just started modelling the Paraflex designs too might have to enter one if they come in under the size limit!
You know I just realized that you are the amp repair guy. I hadn't seen any amp videos from you in a while and thought this channel was dead. I've been a subscriber for many years now and don't know why it didn't click to who you were ,maybe because you're not in your shop. Anyways ,greeting from the states and keep up the excellent work. BTW this build a box series is top notch.
I have mine in a 0.3l sealed box and it actually plays the low notes pretty decently b2 audio has made a really impressive driver yet again. We need more audio stuff at this scale cant wait to see amps and full range speakers? Im using 2x3cm laptop drivers and theyre not the best but it works and its so fun to put them in my rc cars
Hello, Happy new year 🎊 You haven't been live for quite a while. I really love your channel and the information you are sharing. I just found someone interesting here in Iran and just wanted to share the information. I saw your videos about how programmed PICs are not available for SD and TarAmps etc. This guy, I don't know how but he has full access to original modules (output, transformers, power mosfets etc...) for SDs, programmed PICs (TARAMPS, SD, Banda etc) and even full schematics! He even has the original mosfets with sanded off code ( D1, H1 etc.).
Had to take to the comments to understand what this video was referring to at all. Seemed like a pillar setup for some guys sub setup, and not a teaser for audio testing to failure which is much much more intriguing. Having something that refers to it being a series on your channel would bring more interest and clicks to your channel! Just the opinion of an outsider that’s subbed and watching your long form videos now!
Thanks buddy! I appreciate your suggestion! I did mention in this video for those who haven't seen my boom or bust series to go check it out, but maybe that should have been nearer the start! 🥰
Definitely something wrong with the Algorithm. I been subscribed for years and your videos hardly ever pop up. One of my favorite channels. I loved the video of your system in your car
Thanks, I been waiting for you to get your hands on one of these. Any luck on getting a woofer out of an old laptop? HP used to do a Beats by Dre laptop, I have the one before that which has the little sub too. I think that could make boom or bust series two easier to build for.
Salute to you too your channel should be way bigger then it is cause of the knowledge and experience and passion for car audio I love car audio and the thought ot destroying a vehicle with a sub or subwoofers keep it up and have a personal? Have you ever thought of moving to the states or visiting enough for you being around us crazy Americans lol
😂 changing cone mass to change Fs to change tuning is easy & effective! i replaced the tweeters with "nose caps" on the rear speakers in my car & it sounds much better! (i superglued some Castrol 1qt bottle caps over the voice coil hole 3 years ago, they're still working)
I would have _loved_ a ~6" sub in my Power Wheels that could perform like that, if only to have seen my parents' faces! 😆S1 viewer looking forward to S2.👍
I've got a Buttkicker Gamer 2 attached to my chair, so those bass demos are pretty fun, although it looks like the lowest frequencies are below the frequency response of the microphone itself, as they just cut out completely, while my buttkicker is good down to about 10Hz.
Great I’ve been hoping you would try it out. I watched Big D review it.Also I would like to see Hexibase play with this. He is a wizard at getting lower frequencies from smaller drivers. But there are limits that can’t be overcome no matter what.
Super Stoked to see this video. You went in such depth. Good thing we have a bunch of these at B2AudioUSA would love to see a few of these put in a box.
That would be a nice video
maybe make a v2 with more bandwidth. I would actually buy it then.
It would be nice for you to build a 4 inch sub.
We would love to see 30 of these in a center console build.
A line array with 40 of these would be something.
Cute lil thing!
That's what she said and the when it gets mad she said OMG 😋
😂
Yooo the og’s here
Didn't expect to see a legend when I clicked on this video
Garden offff loveeeeee
The scaled demo and recording is truly brilliant

@@GoodWill-s8j I can’t see them but it feels like they’re there lol
Mad scientist. Speeding up the footage then correcting was great.
The explanation with the pendulum was truly amazing! You sure are a good teacher
It only got better 😂 . Where did you gain all this knowledge?
That was by far the best explanation TS parameters I've ever heard.
Same to me also
which of those TS parameters tells you how strong the arm is ?
I've been working in audio for years now and that was probably the best description of a dynamic driver that I've ever heard
Man, seeing a new video of you in front of the Boom or Bust set up just brings a huge smile to my face! 😊
@ 2:50 that would be an amazing infrawoofer!
Nice one bro 👌. Attention to detail and explanation impeccable as always 💚

I have this driver but now I need a 3d printer!!!! Sam send me that enclosure!!!
Super good video, as always. Keep em coming!!!!
I need to get my 3d printer going again I was printing some smoke speaker stuff lots of fun

The amount of deep dive information you gave it here is unbelievably detailed to a simple terms 👌
Sick dude! Been waiting a bit for boom or bust to come back! This video was a sweet little experiment though!
Hyped for season 2!🔥🔥🔥
Dude i can't believe you have less than 100k subscribers. Not only were your demonstrations brilliant but you're commentary is great too.
Best explanation about drivers I ever heard👌🏽 using simple real world examples everyone can understand. You Sir, would be a great teacher.
I didn't understand any of the math or science, but when you did the demo, I got the answer to "Can I put this in my motorcycle?" Worth trying!
This episode is teaching more in 25+min then any university would teach you something like that in a year ℹ️🙂
Respect to you brother 🤝❤️
Great video, and love how you explain things in technical and layman terms

Happy to see you doing these vids again. This is so fun to watch and learn! 🙌🏼
Love the pendulum explanation 🎉🎉🎉
Great explanation of resonant frequencies and the limitations some drivers have comfortably working outside of it.
best demo's of this ive seen yet.
well done!
