    Oh man! I’m gonna do this for my 99 2.7L Prerunner. I’m gonna do this first then do a 4x4 swap (bought the t case, front diff, axles and transmission from a donor truck.
    Thanks for doing this man. I was super nervous but I feel way more than confident now about it.

    Can't wait for the video on how it performs. I read a lot that it you might drift sometimes with it or it is be noisy. Curious how it will work with your setup as I compare to the ARB air lock setup. Thank you for sharing this.

    • @jeffgood6441
      @jeffgood6441 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is alot stronger then the arb setup it's got larger pins and is made of superior metal

    Couldn't you just keep the bearing adjuster bolt/retaining clip as it was so that you don't have to clamp with the vise grips? I know this is a different locker, but on Torquemaster's site explaining how to install their aussie locker they say to not remove the bearing adjuster bolt/retaining clip when taking off the bearing cap. Thanks again for the video! Really considering installing this.

    Pretty cool. For future, “ maybe “ , even though you didn’t have torque for your bolts, it’d behoove you to take an educated guess and true those bolts all around at the same torque value. It would gnaw at me man. Lol!

    • @jeffgood6441
      @jeffgood6441 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea my impacted did that for me on the ring gear bolts with loctite but yea same for the bearing cap bolts too not really that big of deal long as it's tight in very few Toyota diff rebuilds have a seem a toque wrench yea when setting the pinion nut sometimes to be safe with the crush washer

    With no thrust washer, won't that change to contact points for ring and pinon?

    • @NuttyNu

      Instructions def say to leave them out

    • @ozicoiii
      @ozicoiii ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Side gear Thrust washers only change contact point of side gears with pinion mates (spider gears). He removed spider gears. I would be worried about no thrust washer because the side gear Thrust surface is heat treated and the differential thrust surface is not. This would eventually wear the differential thrust surface.
      The ring and pinion are only affected by the pinion bearing, pinion shim and preload castle nuts, which he maintained the same.

    Awesome tips for those caps. So you’re “locked” at all times ? No more sharp/tight turns for you then.
