I'd like to add on. There's a movie called Maurice and I definitely think that if you make a part two to this, this should be added. It's very cinematically pleasing (to me) and I definitely think it's worth the watch! I will be checking out these movies tho.
I liked Maurice, I just didn't love it because they spent so much time away from one another it became it completely different movie in my opinion from the first half -and they start dating different people but it is good
Sublime and Being 17 are two films I could watch again and again. Foreign films are getting to be so good. The characters are so believable. Sublime's message felt like value and cherish your friends and enjoy your teen world, and let adult life wait for tomorrow. Also, I think it said don't despair, there are more fish in the sea. Being 17 also had great messages. I thought it said keep forging ahead on school/dreams and value your fam/friends and sort out your shame, fear and anger. Also, learning to accept love is as important as being able to give love. Oh, and the pheromones, the macking and ooh lah lah, near the end. And sometimes the boy gets the boy.
really liked call me by your name. nowadays i have trouble watching armie hammer... but at the time i watched the movie i didnt know any of the things about him
Thank you so much for this list, I've now got a few more films to watch! I was already familiar with most listed. My first gay (i.e., not porn) film was "Maurice". A well-written period piece with a happy ending (not to mention a young, gorgeous Hugh Grant). I immediately fell in love with "Shelter" (2007) and still watch it (and a few others on my list) when I need cheering up. Sweet, romantic, uplifting, and inspirational. My fav gay dramedy is still "The Broken Hearts Club", with a cast of handsome Hollywood, and TV beloved well-knowns. Well-written and acted; it still begs for a sequel ...although it would likely need a new cast. I loved/hated "Brokeback Mountain". Still haven't seen the entirety of "My Own Private Idaho", only bits and pieces. Watched the whole "Skam" (Shame) series (several different productions from several different countries ...I've seen them all; beautiful boys in every one! Norway's is my fav. The only ones on your list I haven't seen are "No Night Too Long, Kajillionaire, and Moonlight. One of my all-time sweet, cutely funny, sexy, romantic, uplifting favs is Brazil's 2007 film, "The Way He Looks". Another happy ...and proud... ending. (This one's my all-time fave for a rewatch when I'm down.)The original was a short version that became so popular on TH-cam that it was remade with the same cast and basic story, but a full-length version. You can still find both versions on YT ...but do go for the longie! 🎥❤
We could all use and army behind us :) Not that we would use them... but just know they are there... on our side so to speak ;) I've only seen Moonlight, and Call Me by Your Name. In future ranking list would you be willing to mention how / where you saw them - find them. For example... watch Moonlight, Call Me by Your Name, and Queer As Folk a 'tv' show via DVDs from the regional Library system. Saw Brokeback Mountain at a friends' house.. Beach Rats was, at one time but not currently, on the Library system's streaming service. Time to go see where I can find the items on your list. :) 💖
I have seen for the time more (all the movie) the "man with all the answers" ❤❤ Really good movie. And some times of the "Call me By your Name" and this is a great movie!! ❤️🎉🏳️🌈🌈💖💘💘🍃🌼

Another suggestion: God's Own Country, from the UK ca. 2018. Excellent.
