I’ve bought this kit three times and it’s been a pleasure every single time. Even painted one in my own Ace colors and detailed it up to my own specs, I highly recommend anyone pick this up. It’s one of the few kits that holds up time and time again, does not fall apart over time and it’s a spot on realization of the Gouf Custom.

Katoki did a really great job on "redesign" the original gouf into the gouf custom, looks much cooler than Okawara ver. Already have this kit many years ago and it's still one of my favorite HGUC kit.
This kit was a fun build for me, and I love the fact it's able to hold the gatling shield without much issue.

It is. Besides it being one of the most solid HG's Ive ever built, the shoulder gimmick where it can hold out the Gatling shield makes it worth the purchase.

You should've done a comparison with the HGUC Gouf Flight Type as well, seeing as they share a lot of parts

One of my absolute favourites. Definitely more than the sum of its parts. Comes together really nicely.
I recently just bought this kit. Honestly really enjoying it so far. A very cool MS from one of the best Gundam OVAs.
This is such a good kit. I decided to do some painting and gave it a more silver light blue color for all the light blue except the head, then weathered the legs. First time doing any customizing, and it turned out absolutely gorgeous.

I love the locking mechanism on its shoulders joint. Makes posing the kit with that huge gatling shield so much easier.
That plastic piece inside the shoulders is a locking mech that helps the Gouf Custom hold that huge minigun without sagging.
This is the kit that got me back into gunpla after many years away. It is such an awesome kit. I've gotten several more to give it double gatling shields and a twin bladed heat sword as well as to bash with some other kits.
Just picked this up for cheap at hobby lobby today, $13. Super excited to build it, maybe track down an EZ8 too!
just got into gunpla and picked this set up just because of the lower price point. It quickly turned into my favorite build so far.
Okay Zach I'll buy it, jeez. (I actually love the Gouf and I dont know why I dont have it, the proportions on this kit are top notch, it looks so athletic)
A lot of clean, broad surfaces and very few seam lines that all levels of modeler will appreciate (LESS CLEANING!!! OMG YAY!!!)!
The chances for beginners who want to climb to a higher tier, and intermediates looking for a Gunpla to try out that new technique on, it's perfect.
A nice kit overall and one I'd love to have if these blasted issues with supply would ever get handled!

this guy is easily my #1 of the more simpler hg gundam kits. idk why, I just loved building this guy as well as my finished product.

I just built and did some light painting on the that Gouf Custom. Just a fun build and he just looks pretty cool. Just a little bit of weathering really ups how he looks, out of the box super cool but kinda bright plastic. That gun alone should sell anybody on this kit

For the first time, I really want to build a diorama, to display it on top of that building from the iconic scene (I dont even watch anime, just love building kits... but that scene is legendary!😃)

This kit very good... I just bought him on January and this is first HGUC I bought. Gouf custom have nice detail even it is just a HG kit. Many of Gunpla collecter on my country very suprise about this kit: looking cool, tough one and his weapon kind of epic for the kit have been released 10 years ago. Also his price kind of cheap and i sure you guys after you buy him or even after that you custom build him just a little.... you will not be request for small money to have nice HGUC kit on your collection.
One day we will get an MG 2.0. Hopefully. That said, i prefer the Gouf Custom over the normal Gouf because it doesn't have that one really big machine gun hand. I should definitely get this kit.

The light blue color seems brighter than I thought, must put some effort to make the kit looks good

the similarity between this kit and the HG Zaku F2 is something I noticed when I built these kits. I looked into it and found out that Katoki Hajime designed both the Gouf Custom and Zaku F2 so I wouldn't be surprised if he had a hand in designing these HG kits as well. there's one cool thing about this kit that you didn't mention. on the shoulder joint there's a notch that fits into a slot on the cap covering the polycap which prevents the arm from sagging due to the weight when you have the kit in a firing pose.
I also noticed the similarity. It would factor into the if/when I get another of both to make my hybrid "Gouf Zaku Disguise Type" custom.

Haven't built this kit yet but do own it bought it recently plan on changing the colors to look like chars red comet zaku 2
Zeon grunt suits are objectively the best designs in the Gundam franchise.
Zakus are cooler than GMs too, especially on Origins.
I just liked the Gouf Custom because it didn't use Finger Vulcans.
Wonder if Robot Damashii will re-release it with their Ver Anime line. But they haven't touched 8th MS yet so that's a wait and a half.
yes such an amazing kit. the 08th MS Team is my all time favorite gundam show ever... such an amazing show. i wish they would make another season with that universe and characters

I wonder if the gatling gun on MG Gouf custom is compatible to MG Gouf 2.0 because I'm planning to get both

The 3-barrel gun is a 35-mm gun. The Gouf's machine gun hand is 75-mm. 75 is more than twice 35. How can a 3-barrel gun be larger than a 5-barrel of a twice larger caliber?
How does the mg of this hold up? Love the design but it's not exactly on the top of my list.
in the same boat, keep looking at the MG Gouf 2.0 and the custom, can never decide which way I want to go.
What a coincidence, My usual modelwebshop just got a couple in a couple days ago and I bought one :) Curious if theres anything to look out for with this kit.(still at the unboxing part while posting this)
PS: Anyone have any reccomendations for other 8th ms team hg kits that are equaly good? I alsways try to have at least 2 ms'es from the same series :)
Edit: Alright as far as im concerned it seems about perfect after some panel lining and chroming up the back of those clear pieces.
The GM Ground is a solid kit I would reccomend

1,600?? inst that about 17 or 16 bucks? But man I paid a full 40 bucks for this thing(imo well worth every penny) but man..I feel I could've gotten it cheaper other places. I shop on Amazon mainly which I should probably start shopping elsewhere
