Honestly I don't blame people for being apathetic towards reboots we get so many and alot of them suck but it sucks that they get a bad rep I hope we continue to get good reboots
For sure. I think Rise of the Tmnt continues a trend of reboots we saw that people really like from the early 2000’s-2010’s, like Teen Titans 2003, X-Men Evolution or Mystery Incorporated. And I hope with Mutant Mayhem or A New Wish that reboot reception changes.

As an armature writer I can't help but see ASK's entire argument not as gatekeeping, like that's a proper way to treat art. But as a fat kid that has had so much cake that their tastebuds have gone numb to the flavored but is still demanding MORE while being surrounded by emaciated children that are surviving off the crumbs he can't be bothered to pick up. He uses the words "Reboot" and "Race-swapping" so improperly that where I assume he is not racist. It comes off as racist anyway. He is failing the English language so hard that he does half the work for everyone ripping him. Which all of that might be ignored if he hadn't flopped on his take about Cyborg, Blade, and the character made specifically to address the shortage of afro-centric superheroes, Static. I assume ASK has black friends, but he is the white friend you don't invite to the family cookout because he is so disconnected from the community that he will say something wild to your grams who lived the Civil Rights Movement.
One thing I want to-mention is that there was one part of the video that was so messed up that A.S.K. 1:47☝️🤓 Well actually there's only one clear Ben 10 reboot, it's the 2016 series. Alien Force was a sequel to the original and Ultimate Alien was a direct continuation of Alien Force. Omniverse made a drastic design change and retooled the dynamics of the characters and setting but still technically took place in the same continuity. I totally understand why you'd think they're reboots from a glance though and the continuity itself can be a real mess anyways. The two live action movies aren't even related to eachother. The first one is non-canon (or an alternate timeline) yet the second movie IS canon despite a few continuity errors. Honestly I've sunk too many hours into understanding this. Loved the vid btw. Critiques of a New-Wish that aren’t filled with racism. The Fairly OddParents has been a franchise that I feel like has run its course. The original’s season 10 was underwhelming and I know a lot of people hated it. But after looking back at it, Chloe and Hazel aren’t that different. It feels awkward since I was one of the few people who did potential in Chloe without immediately hating her character. I couldn’t go a day with seeing someone in the fairly OddParents fandom saying, “Chloe is not miserable enough to have Fairy parents!!” Then, by the logic, Hazel has less of a justification. She has parents that are miles better than Mr. And Mrs. Turner. Sure, missing an older brother can be sad, but It can still be worked through. I guess I’m just confused by the sudden double standards. This has nothing on Hazel’s character, I would say that’s a part of the new series I kinda enjoy. Secondly, I really do not vibe with an animation style. It completely ditches the 2D style and I think not enough people are talking about it. If the new show is successful, this would further incentivize Nickelodeon to do away with 2D animation for revivals. This show would have so much more charm in 2D. There has been some fan art of Hazel in this 2D style closer to the original series which I think I would have preferred. Finally, I kinda miss the old Poof. This is indeed a more nuclear hot take: but I kinda thought the Poof episodes with Timmy looking after him like a big brother were cute and it’s shame they couldn’t repeat the same thing with Hazel. I personally would think it would have been cute. Also Poof’s new personality is annoying and grating to me. Also I kinda miss the more villianous adults and villianous characters in general. Also I do prefer a more episodic approach to this series since I feel like a serialized approach is a bit overdone at this point. A lot of TV shows are attempting to be more serialized, and while that’s not a bad thing, I really think episodic shows are underrated. These are my main criticisms. I hope that these are valid enough that even if we might disagree you can see where I'm coming from. There are positives about the new show, but regardless, I still think there are things wrong with it.
Opinion respected but how is Poof/Peri annoying? He was pretty much the reason why people watched A New Wish. All Peri just wants to do is be a Fairy Godparent like his parents. But it's understandable if you miss the baby version of Poof then watch the orginal series since this is a sequel series and it explains why Poof grew up.
My issue with the new FOP series, isn't the characters race or the fact that it's just a cash grab, it's the fact that if they REALLY wanted to do something new, then they would have gotten rid of Cosmo and Wanda. Peri would have been the perfect choice as Hazel's fairy- he's already in the show as Dev's fairy, but why do that? Why not have given him to Hazel and then had Cosmo and Wanda make camo appearances? It's the same thing with the new Pokemon series. They gave one of the main characters a Pikachu, because he is their mascot who brings in all the money, and while they preach about wanting something "fresh and new" to appeal to a newer audience, they're still using that familiar crutch because they're afraid if they go all in, they'll lose the money that comes from it. Not to mention, Butch Hartman has been proven to be kind of a slime ball, so why are we revisiting his work and still giving him recognition, when he's not the greatest person out there? Simple answer- money. FOP made Nickelodeon money, and they want to continue to profit off of Cosmo and Wanda because that's what people are familiar with. But that same crutch they're relying on, is also hurting them because nostalgic fans, whether you agree with them or not, will not get over their comfort shows being "ruined" and we can make videos like this all we want, explaining why that's dumb, but at the end of the day, most people do not care. So they're not introducing their kids to the new series, they're not paying for the services the shows air on, there's so many reasons why these series aren't doing well. It's not always as simple as "oh, because she's black." They need to let go of their crutches that are Cosmo and Wanda, they should have made Peri Hazel's fairy, and they should have gone all in with something new, rather then relying on what made the old series so great.
