Wow! Amazing! That mountain top footage sold me. I just wish it used some type of silent zoom technology like Canons STM lens. Silent zoom is important for us video guys. Not an issue for stills.

Is it true that the "Auto", "Bird Watching", "Scene", "Moon", etc. modes are dedicated only to photography and not to video?
With the Nikon P1000, which mode do you use to make videos?
I have left some comments about atmospheric distortion with this camera before, but seeing the zooming out it is almost scary to see show these people dissolve into thin air and even beyond that.
Saw the TH-cam ad for this STARSCOPE product, cracks me up to see a Chinese
company use a google voice and the inventor is always something like
Jack Patriot from New York and his voice is obviously computer
generated.. All the "reviews" online are similar obviously fake posts
and on fake websites full of "buy now" buttons.. I'm sorry if you fell

LMFAOOOOOO I SAW THE SAME AD, then I went and looked up the best zoom lenses instead and came across this...
All the products advertised on TH-cam that use 'That music' (you know the one I mean) and were "invented by " are scams. It was that same last summer for that nasty little table top air cooler being advertised an as air conditioner that could cool a full size room in minutes (it couldn't), then there was the dodgy ear wax remover tool, and then at Christmas, some horrible piece of jewellery which apparently everyone was talking about
Considering that I already have a proper camera, and am fairly familiar with how lenses work, I didn't fall for it, I immediately knew it was BS.
@FSJF Games and $50 rubber diy braces that straighten your teeth 10x faster than ACTUAL braces. And the tiny $30 projector that has 10x the brightness of the best TV on the market..

Well that's a pretty amazing performance! Clearly camera shake or negating it is a bit of an issue but still the clarity is astonishing! I was expecting a huge price tag but for a Nikon it is incredibly cheap at around £650. One final observation is that if anyone thinks a drone is an invasion of privacy, this is in another league.....lol!
It's £1000 from most mainstream retailers, I took a gamble and paid £604 from a Hong Kong online company, it took weeks to arrive but I was in no hurry for it. Yes it does shake at full length if there's any wind so I wont really be using footage from it in my drone videos. Having a bit of fun with it just now but the main reason I bought it was to look at wildlife and planets, this camera can see Saturn's rings and solar panels on the International Space Station.
You are also dealing with atmospheric haze and pollution too, that becomes more dense at further distances.
The drone probably works well for flying high and getting wide angle footage when flying in closer proximity. Can it capture up close footage from far away?
Thinking about the atmospheric haze and pollution that builds up the greater the distance even at 8 miles away, you still get a person, although a little hazed, right?
It is amazing how we can get clear close ups of the moon, planets and stars at that same magnification at night.
Makes you realize they aren't billions of miles away, but are close and maybe the planets and stars are actually small in size. The moon has to be really close, because it easily fills the screen at 3000mm zoom and seems to focus in clear.

@@ME-ru4hv that's exactly what I was thinking. Satellites can watch our every move anytime of the day.
As you can see in this footage, the Nikon P1000 is bordering on what is actually useable as zoom range. The limit is not the lens or sensor, but rather atmospheric distortion. You simple can’t get closer in because the details are distorted too much by the atmosphere. Using a very big sensor, wouldn’t allow you to get any closer either, but it would allow you to record a much wider area at once, because you could use less optical zoom, but digitally zoom in on whatever part of the big image you like.
1:33 Imagine the guy with the black shirt and black pants having the same camera and he is looking at you with it, then he noticed that you are looking at him and started waving at you 🙋

INCREDIBLE!! How do you know how far away the target is when you zoom in on it?
Its separate from the scope.... but you'd either use a map, a device that can. Actually do that or use your location on your phone with google maps or other geographic land data recorder to give you a decent estimate
I have the Nikon P900 now 5 years quite remarkable of some of the shots i have taken with it.
I tuck one shot of a church that was 12 miles away and i was very pleased with the image i did however had to do a slight bit of lightroom on it.
You will find at it's full zoom a cooler day works way better.
Wow, that's killer zoom! Now you can watch the ships that supposedly go over the horizon come totally back into view...

Only if you are on higher elevation. Because the Earth is spherical. At Sea level the horizon is about 7 miles. Climb a mountain of you want a longer view. It's that simple.

My question is the diference between Nikon P950 va P1000 very high ?
The p950 is Not so Heavy and 2000 mm is i think enough for Zoom
83x vs. 125x.
P1000 = $1000.

Some of your footage has been stolen. A company called “KWOP” are using it to sell a fake telescope/zoom lens on Facebook.
I have reported it to Facebook but there’s not much they will do because I’m not the copyright owner, and obviously “KWOP” are paying Facebook to run the advert.

Ive ordered one of these cameras, should have it on Tuesday or Wednesday, the zoom is incredible, although it has a very small sensor, should be able to get some decent shots of the oil rigs and boats in the Firth of Forth, looks like it has good macro capabilities as well.

I have a Canon Rebel T7i camera, I can not take nice pictures and the phone looks better, so I want to take distant photos and her lens is the kit, 18 x 55mm. I was researching value of lens 70 x 300mm with stabilizer and the price is high, I was told the Nikon Coolpix P1000 because I am not even an amateur is for my hobby wonder is worth staying with the Canon or exchange for a Nikon Coolpix P1000 does it take away what is your opinion and one more detail mine is professional or Nikon P1000?

Amazing! Nikon has practically squeezed every optical trick our there to get this performance
out of P1000's relatively narrow aperture. You can't significantly improve it, by physics law.

Well Heisenberg did talk about optics - he showed position and momentum cannot be measured lower than a certain threshold. Optics - depends on the aperture. For cylindrical optics 1.22 lamba / D where lambda is the wavelength and D is optics diameter. Move to square apertures and with right adaptive focusing one can get a lot better.
@@stephenhookings1985 Hi, I don'nt think square optics would add much. Square would add only 21.5 % of usable area. And those 4 additional usable corners would be far from the optics axis, where it's hardest to maintain desireble glass curvature.

You need to use manual focus on the end of the Zoom since the camera cant auto focus for the distortion of the light.
Whats the resson for it a little blury/distorted looking on full zoom? Is it the pixels breaking down?

The lens is part of the camera. It has a 4.3mm to 539mm lens, but because the camera has a small sensor, it is equivalent to a 24mm to 3000mm lens on a "professional" camera.
