    I have had this quick release plate for two weeks. It is a GREAT purchase. My ball tripod and ball window mount are back in use with this quick release mount. My gear tripod handles my P1000 with much more stability and efficiency. I love the pictures I get from the P1000 but used it sparingly do to keeping the P1000 locked on my subject and the resulting video shake and picture blur. MY P1000 is back as my principal camera. Thank you, Joel.

    Joel, You are mesmerized watching the 3D printer work and I am mesmerized watching you figure out how to get the results you need. Having patience and being willing to stick with a task until it's solved will serve you well in life. I confess my real fascination is with the end product - the actual photography- but watching you go through this process is also enjoyable to watch. You are a gifted young man in so many ways. Kudos to you.

    Hey Joel. Just received the new mount. Very sturdy! Once on the P1000 bottom mount, I fitted my Manfroto mount to that and it's perfect! I've got about 3" of slide so I can get the bulk of the weight back to compensate for the zoom of the barrel. Figures it takes a talented DIY'er to come up with a product that no mfg can! Nice job!

    Hi Joel, I'm Jörg from Frankfurt/Germany and I bought this "camera stabilisation" from you via Etsy-platform this July 2023...
    ...and what I want so say: Thank you very much for this great tool. Ordering and (fast) delivery was without any problems and the price is also okay and adequate for the effort this tool brings to me. Works very fine and moon and long distance footages mostly looking much better than before.
    Thanks again and Good Luck for you every times....

    I have a P1000 and I had been using it on a long base plate with a wad of tissue under the barrel of the lens portion and the base plate fixed to the triod further forward than where the camera's tripd hole is and it was better. Now I have now ordered some small rig type items from Amazon including rails and a lens support. Fingers crossed for that set-up. If Nikon just put the tripod mount under the lens it would be a much better handling camera at long focal lengths.

    I am considering buying a P1000. I have 5 3d printers so the first thing I thought of was designing a QR plate. Then I found that Joel has already done the work, and has printed plates available in carbon fiber. I don't want to start printing CF and Joel's price is reasonable. If I decide to buy the camera I will definitely order Joel's plate the next day. If I designed my own it surly take several iterations, field trips, and filament to get it right.
    Thank you, Joel.

    I have a Nikon p1000 using the mount described in this video along with a heavy duty speaker stand (tripod lower/mono-pole top) with fluid head adapter and a 360 Degree Panoramic Gimbal. It has excellent stability at full zoom. This mount described in this video made all the difference. NOTE: I did apply some small double sided tape to one area to help absorb some of the jitter. I HIGHLY recommend getting this item for your Nikon CoolPix p1000. Thank you for an excellent product. After watching this video I honestly feel like the price is worth twice as much!

And as a 54 year old man, Veteran, then Attorney and CEO of several multinational companies but now comfortably retired with an eight figure investment fund, please believe me when I tell you that your mindset and determination will guarantee you success at ANYTHING you want to achieve in life. BELIEVE in yourself, have confidence in yourself and when you know that you have something and that you are right, try try and try again until you achieve it. Sure, you won't always get it right first time, but push on just like you did with this and eventually you will succeed. Now... this little anti-shake clamp for the Nikon P1000 may not bring you your millions, but you keep on applying that grit and tenacity to any good ideas that you have, and I promise you one day you will hit the jackpot. Just placed an order! Just back from Yellowstone. My Sony 200-600mm lens is great but not enough reach for some subjects. We played with fellow photogs Digiscopes for video but found them hard to aim and switch from one subject to another subjects. So back to the future and just picked up a P1000, so much easier to use. Video quality is fine for the internet...This will help when tracking an animal on the move.

    Hi Joel. I recently purchased your very nice stabilizing release plate for the P1000. Everything works great, so thanks for taking the time to engineer and produce such a nice product. Just one comment: You should radius the corners of the plate a little. They are very sharp as is, and I am reminded of that each time I grab the camera to set up. Thanks again for your time and effort in making this solution.

    • @JoelSchat
      @JoelSchat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the feedback Paul! Do you mean the front and back of the arca swiss section corners? or the corners of the barrel part where your hand goes? for a quick fix you could definitely sand down the corners to make them a bit smoother.

    I dont use digital technology just old self made transformator solder gun(same that is available in stores) that i melt very small portion of plastics..... Soo i use paper as isolator on camera and start melting and connecting drops of plastic on camera. You end with resilt you want .... Its best to put more platic that you need and later polish it with files. You can put steel elements inside for more power when adding drops of plastics.(solderimg with plasitic)...i was made accesories like this for prototype projects from 10 years old ... But ther is need to thinking about what you doing when you doing this.if someone want make it in this method just make some experiments at start...be patient and dont rush. Insert to srew tripod can be abtained from old cameras everyone have them ...or order some adapter and file down not neccery part etc.

    I would say I would print it with 100% infill then it is hard for a camera. And petg would be enough. I to similar things for my 210 and 300mm lense on my normal non p1000 camera. For that need to be hard 100% infill is the best

    • @JoelSchat
      @JoelSchat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought one on Etsy and it works really well for me whether shooting wildlife or surfing, stills and video. The stability is amazing and I am so glad I made the decision to spring on your model. I had purchased something similar that was a disappointing experience. Again Joel, thanks for keeping at it as the final product is probably better than anything Nikon would be willing to produce. You have a new fan and a believer.

    Awesome video. I think you underestimate the value of your creation. You could easily ask double the current selling price and P1000 owners will still buy... Thanks for the video!
