    One thing to note about "stow n go" and front seat positions: there's actually a button to move the front seat! It's visible just in front of the sliding door, you can't miss it at ~12:00. It'll also return the seat to the original position once you're done.

    I owned a 2017 Pacifica Touring L-Plus (lost in Houston's Hurricane Harvey floods) and replaced it with a 2018 Honda Odyssey Touring. Big mistake! Chrysler's Stow-N-Go is unbeatable, and the Chrysler feels more luxurious, more nimble and far more comfortable to my senses. My 2021 Pacifica Touring-L is on order with the dealer now.

      I went from a 2012 Chrystler Town & Country Touring-L (the old version of the Pacifica) to a new 2021 Honda Odyssey Elite and I HATE it. SO many things on that Honda make absolutely NO SENSE. I'm thinking of trading for a new Pacifica. My husband made me get the Honda because it's supposed to hold up better and he thinks Chrystlers are junk. I don't care tho, I'm miserable with this Honda because I know what the perfect van SHOULD be like, and this ain't it.

      No point of owning a minivan when the engine or transmission craps out. Chryslers are junk past 100k miles.

    I'm a 26-year-old guy. I'm getting into graduate school away from home. So I'll be having long commute times. I'm so confused why people don't love minivans. These are so freaking awesome. The fact that you can hold all of your homies/loved ones in there OR fill it up with packages OR sleep in there during a road trip is so amazing and practical. On top of that, having a bigger car is much safer for anyone inside! I don't know why anyone would want a smaller car tbh. Anyways, I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for highlighting important details that are relevant for day-to-day use!

      I do feel like I would get a Toyota sienna though. The exterior of the newer Toyota siennas literally make it look like a cool sporty SUV.

    Woah ! the status bar and the menu bar on the Uconnect 5 are configurable/CUSTOMIZABLE, you should have checked the Uconnect owners' Manual at page 8 of the PDF document format.
    Another error is worrying about the front seats position when you want to Stow-n-Go the second row seats: At page 45 of the Vehicule Owners' Manual in PDF format, there is an available/if equipped Auto Advance 'n Return feature button. Your review vehicule has that button, it is in plain sight ! on the lower B pillar

    Thank you! This is the Best review I’ve seen on this van. You didn’t waste time just reciting numerical specs and just focused on the experience.

    If you press that button on the lower panel behind the drivers seat, the seat will move out of your way to stow the back seat. It’s called “One Touch Down”.

  • @thecommenter4933

    The stow and go is a real game changer. The interior cargo capacity is just ridiculous. This is the ultimate daily utility driver, the ultimate road tripper and the ultimate car camper all in one. I haul materials for my business, so I lease this thing and write it off, so it's also a perfect work vehicle. It can also tow up to 3200 lbs, so in a pinch, you can pull a small cargo trailer for anything that doesn't fit. Going mountain biking? Throw a bike, or two, or three, or four in the back! And then get a roof rack and bring couple of kayaks while you're at it. Or have the bikes and the kayaks in the cabin, and bring a canoe, because why not, you can!

    • @jillciminillo
      @jillciminillo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What I really love about the Pacifica is the flexibility. And, you’re right, still stow n go it’s definitely a game changer.

    I have a complaint: With all the seats stored. There is no way to store the flat fixit or vacuum extension hose or anything else.
    I use this van for my dogs and only like the second row seats up when I haul humans occasionally. That is why I bought this vehicle. There is plenty of sidewall space that these items can fit into.

  • @uTubed007
    @uTubed007 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You can access the heated seats and heated steering controls without going through the menu on the Uconnect 5 home screen by pressing the driver or passenger seat widget located in the top corners of the screen, they are also in plain sight !

    Great review real world review! Most editors are just worried about 0-60 times. I like how you tried to engage most of the features that people would utilize daily (heated seats, park assist, vacuum, stow n go, hands free opening the tailgate, etc). My wife climbs over the seats all the time when I rent a Pacifica, but she does it while I'm driving! I don't agree with the end being "bloopers". These are things Chrysler needs to be made aware of so they can improve their product.

    I'm currently driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla with 125,000 kms (78,000 miles) and I'm looking to upgrade but don't want an SUV and don't want to see myself at every stoplight. I'm also planning a lot of long distance road trips through Canada and the USA once COVID is kaput and I feel like the Pacifica would fit the bill. My only concern is I like to keep my cars for several years after the financing is done and dusted and I don't know how this will hold up after 10 years of driving.

    • @jillciminillo
      @jillciminillo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is always such a hard question to answer because there are new components on 2021 that could pose problems. I will say Consumer Reports gives the Toyota Sienna a higher rating than Pacifica overall, and Pacifica ties with Odyssey in terms of an overall rating -- all looking at 2021 models. In terms of predictive reliability, however, CR puts Pacifica at the bottom for 2021. It gets significantly higher scores for 2020 (better than Odyssey and Sienna), but then you sacrifice AWD.

    Minivans are the best vehicles to own.
    I’m single and bought a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. It’s been trouble free since the day I bought it and I can haul anything I want. Unlike a truck everything is inside and unlike a SUV I can haul a lot more stuff.
    So many people buy a vehicle for looks and that is dumb to me.
    I don’t buy cars for looks. I want a vehicle that meets my needs.
    I really like the Pacifica and I agree it’s dumb to put metal on the steering wheel. I also hate wood steering wheels.
    The reason you had trouble with the Stowe and go is because you did not keep the cover straight. When you lifted the cover over the opening you folded the cover and that is why you had trouble putting the seat down and up.
    To move the front seats forward there is a button on the door frame. No big deal! I would rather scoot a seat forward then to remove heavy seats from the car and find a place to stow them.

    • @jillciminillo
      @jillciminillo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Minivans are so practical!! Plus the Pacifica drives really well. I don’t need a vehicle this size, but this would be in contention if I did.

    As the owner of a pacifica, and former owner of no less than 8 other chrylser minivans, I can attest to the stiff front seats. The front seats are too stiff for a long haul and after about an hour you really begin to notice just how hard they are.

  • @uTubed007

    Again whoa ! first, the Active kick zones for the side doors and liftgate are clearly indicated in the owner's manual document in PDF format at page 30 and 106. Also is defined a "kicking motion" to successfully be detected. The system doesn't respond well to "flash kicks"

    • @jillciminillo
      @jillciminillo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It didn’t always work for me even when I was in the right “kick zones.”

    • @jillciminillo
      @jillciminillo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, and that’s why the kick activation was in the bloopers... so thanks for watching to the end 😁

    Folks commenting it’s a “great, real world” review. I’m gonna disagree. I currently own a 2018 Pacifica, and we are waiting on delivery of our 2021. Many of the features reviewed here were not done very well. From the kick zones, to the heated and vented seat, to the one touch down feature. You really should familiarize yourself with the vehicle you are reviewing before actually doing so.

    • @jillciminillo
      @jillciminillo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately most people who review cars drive between 75 and 125 cars in any given year - sometimes for only a couple hours. So familiarity is a luxury we often don’t have. I catch a lot, but obviously miss things too. You’ll notice I didn’t say you couldn’t use the heated seat/wheel icon in the upper left. I just didn’t say you could either. Frankly, they worked 1 out 20 times for me, so it wasn’t worth mentioning. And the kick zones were atrocious. I’ve been in vehicles where they work 100%, Pacifica did not - even when I was right under the logo perfectly positioned.

  • @jillianj310
    @jillianj310 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    One thing NO ONE EVER mentions is that this vehicle is not car seat or booster seat friendly. It is difficult to get a good fit forward facing because the headrests are not removable and tilt forward causing major fit problems and incompatibility.
    Also, there are only two anchors in the back row so only two forward facing car seats could go back there. With the car seat compatibility being an issue, having limited spaces for carseats in a mini van (a vehicle literally made for families with children) is incredibly frustrating.

    Why are you climbing up the seats like a squirrel? 😆 😆
    I really want change my 2nd generation sedona to pacifica. Because pacifica's 4wd and stow n go seat is fascinated.
    But Chrysler stopped selling in Korea since 2017. So I can't buy it even if I want to.
    I hope Chrysler will resume sales or Kia Sedona will invent something similar to the stow n go seat. It's really envious of stow n go seat
    Thank you for showing pacifica.
    And i will visit your channel often.

    What a great review! So many practical, daily use, observations. They also have a model with a plug-in electric hybrid option. You lose the stow and go seats which is a major negative. But you get the environmental upside. Do you think you'll be getting an opportunity to view the PHEV version?
