My entire life as a Beatles fan, I’ve only heard the J160E. Turns out, there were two guitars the whole time. I always learn new things from your covers, Sam!
@@scarystories190 well, like the bible bible, the beatles bible can be wrong. there are lots of videos on youtube that have electric guitar on this song. you can hear it pretty well on the isolated: th-cam.com/video/Tj-hxljvlgM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=STZqlK_sT6ZvPyZF
I knew there was something funky going on there, just never realised it was E major of all things! Wow! Wonder how the just let that through. P. S. Awesome cover as always. George rhythmic jabs are wonderful.
between the lines "you hurt me then" and "you're back again" there seems to be a chord change in the original at 0:36, but it could be only in the piano perhaps.. this is indeed one of the most underrated songs of the early Beatles

Sam that's insane. I was just commenting on that song as well as It won't be long this morning. Just beautiful thank you as always A true Beatles fan you are 👍 loving every lick same a true guitar man
Maybe someday. Little Child by the Beatles off Meet The Beatles and. Not sure your familiar with Little Child Of Mine by Fleetwood Mac off the album Bare Trees. Your really great to listen to Sam. I've always looked to hear bands duplicate there songs on stage lick for lick You've got that touch always a pleasure to hear you play 👍
Another enlightening cover. This is really messing with my perception of this song! I always heard it as G to Em each and every time. I went back to listen and now I hear the E major. In fact, I'm now wondering whether the piano part is playing E major. In each verse, I'm hearing the piano playing G, Em, G, E major.
I don’t have exact settings but it’s plugged into the top boost channel. Volume knob around nine o clock, bass around 10 o clock, treble around 1 o clock Master volume about noon
Never really heard George's guitar on the recording. I never would have even guessed he was strumming 16th notes under John's part. How did you pick them out?
@@sampopkin I listened and you're right. It's very faint, but George is doing it. Also, it sounds like at the end of each verse, they couldn't decide what chord to end on, so they played the E major and E minor together.

This song must be one of the Beatles Greatest Songs
Don't think so.
very underated early tunes
yes but the song itself is really great👽
The E major and E minor together is wild, never knew that
true
always felt wierd in that part
Gotta love those aeolian cadences
Aren't those exotic birds?

So good! I love the E major/Em 'mistake'. It's what makes these covers so fabulous
i had absolutely no idea that harrison part even existed.
It doesnt, he didnt play on this song.

Straight to Spotify anddddddddd……….yes, that George part is there 😊
That switch to E major at the end is so weird, lol. Great playing. It's nice to finally hear George's part, which is also a bit weird tbh.

Sounds like someone adding a 6th (F#) to the Am
Beautiful guitar work as always! It's always satisfying to hear these guitar parts played loud and clear.
Wow, the E major-minor glitch is too much! Love it!
Thanx, Sam! Greetings from Madrid, Spain

Harrison didnt play on this song.,
@@scarystories190 of course he did. Listen carefully
@@zyabomusic6912 its well documented that he didn't.
@@scarystories190 ok, I hear acoustic and electric guitar on the record, who’s playing the later one, maybe the guy who well documented it?

Sounds awesome!
nice job! severely underrated one
Not a Second Time in E 😆!
Still looking forward to Please Please Me (definitely in E) 😁!
Impressed that you were able to pick out any guitar from the shoddy original mix
One of my favorites. Hard to hear the guitars on the actual recording. The heavily compressed piano kind of takes over the mix.
Sounds amazing as always Sam!
Before this video i didn’t know the song, but now i listen to it daily!
Absolutely perfect!!🙏🎸
Fantastic. One of my favourites.
Amazing cover as always
Awesome ❤😊
Idk why its so weird watching you play the much earlier beatles stuff
I know what you mean lol
Great, Sam! Can u do some Double Fantasy songs, please? I beg you haha
My favorite song from DF is I’m Losing You. I love the guitar work on it. I’m sure Sam would knock it out of the park.
Amazing work Sam!
Muito bom. Adoro essa música. Por favor, acrescente o solo de piano . Obrigado ! 😊

I agree the piano at the least is just doing E5 without the third
Nice work, Sam. What strings did you use on the Gretsch and J160E?
Ernie ball 11’s power slinky
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Really impressive strumming at 6:00
After the song ends? 😉

What do you think of the rumours that there's no bass on this track?
That’s just totally false, you clearly hear Paul’s basslines
First
George was doing funk well before funk was born!
holy that triplet cluster at 0:05 is quite unusual. do you think george played that by accident or deliberately?
Deliberate! He was doing some really funky stuff on this song

It’s actually audible even in the album, but especially if you listen close to isolated guitar track

George Martin on piano solo.
