Tony, you may not remember me but I’m Henry, you used to teach me guitar lessons (Little Chinese boy). Now I’m studying in a university. I randomly came across your video and thought you looked familiar. Well done to your success on TH-cam
Great! That tutirial was just enough to keep me from giving up. I will always enjoy noodling around with a guitar. But this was a real boost for me. Thanks!
Nice ! I like doing the e scale on the low E string with E and G string. If you also include the D string you get a jazzy feel. And if one doees the E and G+B youre in deep Clapton land before you know it ahaha. Anyway guitar is such a good friend to have :)
Not entirely unlike the "Better Man" chord of D/F#......... could be an easy three finger cord that doesn't involve the thumb and you can move the shape up and down the neck. For any guitar player who happens to know how to play the song the world I know by collective soul...... You already know this secret is possible..... House of found an amazing cover on TH-cam by Corey Heuvel of Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes and I quickly reverse engineered everything he was playing in about 20 minutes or so to find out he was using this similar trick with easy two-finger chords on E and G string only on the 7th fret to play a B minor bar chords in a much easier way that sounds more beautiful as well. Any intermediate guitar players watching or reading this I highly suggest looking up that cover version I mentioned and if you know how to play a little bit you will quickly be able to decode everything he's playing chord wise as well. This video is very accurate, this trick is a magic trick for guitarists. There are many easier ways to play lots of those hard bar chords, we have options!! Go forth and conquer that guitar!!!
What a useful hint that is. I've been a bit stuck as I tend only to use barre chords up the neck and they're not always easy within the rythm of the tune. Thank you. PS Don't let the name fool you, I've had it all my life but I didn't know Freddie.
Yo, learn the triad inversions on the center 3 strings. The 1-4-5 changes are right under you fingers without a bunch of repositioning (fill notes are also right there without changing hand position) and with the sparser voicing it’s a lot easier to find a rhythm that accents what the open chord dude is playing. I do lean more heavily on palm muting so the higher voicing come through as rhythm accents or chord stabs instead of ringing through….if not, the harmonic wash is a little strident, but that also helps find rhythmic centers easier for me. I haven’t played any songs in open chords for about 2 months now, (only if my buddy is playing his mandolin or we need a roto vibe sound there….) my fluidity in the mid-neck area has given me a lot of diversity, and the 3 finger voicings have helped tons with the tendon and arthritic issues a 64 year old guitar player has.
Well, that was interesting. As an alternative to the 4th string, you could include the open 1st and 2nd, giving you G6, Am add2, Cmaj9, D6/9. Sound good?
Love the Eric Clapton signature Martin 👌 😍 👂 Noticed what you do better than Eric is you make use of your middle finger. Eric being in the top five guitarist in the world uses his middle finger 🖕 😳 to always flip the bird 🐦 😅😅😅😅😅😮😮😮😂😂😂❤
The SECOND chord you are playing is in NO WAY an EM. The notes you are plucking are an A note & a C note which have nothing to do with EM. The main three notes in EM are E, G & B.
It's probably a good lesson, but it is challenging understanding what he is saying, with his accent. If he slowed down and he was enunciating slowly, it might be helpful.

Great stuff Tony! My name is Doug, I live out in Denver, Colorado.
I just liked the video and subscribed, thank you so much!
Great. We, Bass players use often these beautiful blackbird-chords.
Great! That tutirial was just enough to keep me from giving up. I will always enjoy noodling around with a guitar. But this was a real boost for me. Thanks!
I'm so glad to hear that, man! Keep up the great work! 🙌🏻
Middle finger for bass notes gives guitarists new and alternative chord voicing ❤
What a calm and fun groove for all levels to change it up a little. Its perfect little rainy day melody.
Oh yep, totally got that cozy rainy day vibe! Appreciate you sharing your thoughts! 😃

Sounds like Blackbird.
Adjust that a bit and you've got blackbird.

Haha, no worries at all. I appreciate the love! Glad you’re enjoying the lessons. 🙂
Thats really cool, kind of like a moveable triad, thanks for the tip
You're welcome, man!
Incredible. Lol, maybe the first time ive seen an "easy" chord trick that was actually super simple, but still very cool.
Appreciate it! Glad it lived up to the 'easy' name and still brought the cool factor. Cheers!🎸😄
Awesome, amazing, AND really cool!?!?
Tony, i'm in!
Love that! Thank you very much! 😄
Well, that was interesting. As an alternative to the 4th string, you could include the open 1st and 2nd, giving you G6, Am add2, Cmaj9, D6/9. Sound good?
Sounds a bit like Blackbird by the Beatles? Thanks! :)
I've been learning Many of Horror by Buffy Clyro and this is making sense
Nice…reminiscent of All Right by Christopher Cross.
Nice. Playing 10th’s like the great stride pianists of Harlem!!!
Great video!!!!!!!
Thank you! Glad you liked it 🙂
Nice! Within minutes, I was making music.
That's awesome, man!

Only The Lonely by The Motels uses this progression.

Looks very much like a Martin OMJM.
@@palaemon5359 Does doesn't it? I thought it was a 000-28EC then realised it was an OM. Beautiful guitars (mine's a 000-28).
Looks like the John Meyer OM.
Its a Qretsch
@@jobrothberg4679 It says Martin on the headstock.
Cool 😎✌️
Thank you!!
I play without any cords I just played what I play I make up my own Court
I’m sure you are incredible.
No offense but I’m just now starting to understand what you are talking about
No offense taken at all! :) I’m really glad things are starting to click for you. Keep going, man!
The SECOND chord you are playing is in NO WAY an EM. The notes you are plucking are an A note & a C note which have nothing to do with EM. The main three notes in EM are E, G & B.
He said AM
@@derekmichael8797 Oh, I misunderstood him. In that case, no problem.
It’s Am
It's his accent 😂
I struggled with his accent on "a" when I first started watching his videos, too. Now I'm used to it.
It's probably a good lesson, but it is challenging understanding what he is saying, with his accent. If he slowed down and he was enunciating slowly, it might be helpful.
lol, if you can’t tell what he’s saying, maybe it’s you
Dinnae ken wit ye mean?
Hey that's great man! Sub'd and will be back!
Thanks so much for the sub! I really appreciate it, and I’m excited to have you back, my friend! 🙌🏻
