When has it ever caused an issue? As far as I can tell that’s only something amateur mechanics preach about

The beginning of the video looked like the most difficult part of this job was going to be you fighting with your tools😂😂😂

Man I wouldnt let this guy work on my bike after watching this. So many bad habits.

Says a guy that apparently doesn’t work on his own bike. Anymore I try not to work on anything but my own stuff anyway, I already did pretty well working under people to work on other peoples transportation. The stuff I show sometimes is to be entertaining and not exactly how things should be done, other times I do things perfectly to my liking. For a parking lot style repair this is how I would get it done.

I miss my 2000 Chevy Blazer so much. The hardest part that I had to replace were the Tie-Rod. I did not know how I got my Blazer back home, but I miraculously got the SUV home. Knowing that I need to replace them, I went once again in DIY mode. Those D--n knuckles were super-hard to remove. I use brute force to remove them instead of using a propane torch due to safety reasons. After replacing all of the Tie Rods, Went to the nearby Firestone shop and they aligned them. In the end, I spent so much in parts ,I was forced to depart of an old friend that my father got me by donating my vehicle. What would my family be if I was not around. RIP dad.🙏🙏

I have a 17 cherokee th and the lugnuts are absolutely the worst I've ever dealt with. Watching you reminds me of exactly what I go through every fucking time. Jeep really fucked up with them that's for sure

I have an audi that makes clunking noises from the driver side. The clunk only happens when applying brakes going over bumps, applying brakes to slow down and when turning sharp. I've replaced axle and lower control arm and lower ball joint but it still cluncks. Ever since the clunk started my alignment isn't straight even after I took it to get alignment. Steering is also loose and brakes needs to be applied a little earlier to slow down. I've changed brake pads and I've check it we still looks fine to me. I'm stomped on this one.

1:45, you could not be more accurate, those lug nuts are absolute junk. Did rear hubs on my niece's jeep last week and was so scared dealing with them lugs, can't remember which socket I used but I made sure to hammer it on. Felt like I was going to strip them out but got lucky. It's like these jeeps were made to look nice for delivery day but after that good luck.

How many miles did the stock wheel bearing last before it went out? This is a very informative video.

I’ve got just under 82k on my 2015 and I’m thinking my driver side one is going out. I haven’t pulled the wheel off to look at the brakes yet though.

You dont have a big slide hammer? They work good for those.

    • @NaptownTuner
      @NaptownTuner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

That will get the hub flange out but that actual bearing, I haven’t seen anyone take those out with a slide hammer yet. One of my subscribers saw me get off my drz downtown Indianapolis and came up to thank me, he was in town for ncaa

@@NaptownTuner Oh, weird we used them all the time on wheel bearings, especially on the honda's that seem to weld together.

    • @AutoFocus-se

We use a slide Hammer, when The hub flange comes out. You just make an adapter from one of The bearing bolts. Works every time.

I worked at a Chrysler shop and those were horrible. They make a special half size socket for those mine is a double sided socket one sides 19mm and the other is a 19.5mm.

I can attest to these lug nuts being absolute crap on a 2014 Grand Cherokee as well. Absolute crap when I had to do shock absorbers.

I like how you can diversify, German to Jeep.. I think Jeep is still American made but who knows anymore?? That is a crappy design with steel and aluminum.. and that is basically a brand new vehicle, that entire RF wheel hub and assembly looked mint caliper/rotor clean as a whistle.. should not have been that seized!! Gotta bath it in PB Blaster.. but that was a hell of an impressive job in the stones on your knees.. I’m too old for that LOL.. did you torque the wheel bolt after lowering the car? Hey I’d be curious if that solved the howling, I’m sure it did, I’m not doubting your diagnosis.. excellent job hope you are compensated well.. I really enjoy your commentary 👍🏻

Wheel bearings are crap on these type of jeeps, I’ve had mine done once and need it again at least it isn’t too hard to do on them
