  • If you have some minor edge chipping from the road or from swapping tips or baffles, check out this quick video on a how to touch up that will leave the pipes looking like they just came off the production line.

Perfect timing! I was going to call this week and see how to touch up the tips. Chipped it while trying to install on the 4.5 black tips.

Glad to see this is an approved process? Just installed Tab BAM sticks on Indian Challenger, didn’t like the way the tips came, flipped them myself to slant to match the bag & wasn’t sure if I may have problems w/ water puddling since the over hang is gone, looks much cleaner! Sounds great w/ 2.5” baffles also

Great info on the touch up paint. I'm currently out at Sturgis and someone must've parked too close to my bike while I was walking around.. and somehow they scraped my black exhaust heat shield on my Indian. I was literally thinking last night night that a Q-tip and some high heat paint would be a good first step. I'll give it a shot when I get home from the rally.

Q-tip is great for edges with the Krylon high temp paint, but it will look awful on a round flat surface because it leaves an edge. Now it will be better than the scratch but won't look good. For a spot on the face, I have been successful with the same spray paint can hold the part above the spray and sort of flick the fine mist at the part until the scratch goes away. This takes some skill and practice but you won't see the edge from the touch up as it will blend and it is light enough that you won't get runs or any definitive lines from the touch up. Good luck and hope it helps.

I would do the kit. Oil pump enhancement might as well while you are in there, but not needed.

Hey - not sure what numpty put mine on (used bike) but I can only get one end-cap off. The other is locked up tight. All the screws are out but it won't budge. I have tried heat and also tapping on the end of it.
Any ideas on how to get it off without totally destroying it? Thanks!

Putting a little WD-40 in the seams will help for sure, then with a towel for protecting the end cap you can push down and then flip it 180 degrees, push down the other way and flip 180 again, etc. until it walks its way out. I have also heard that if you have a deep freeze getting it cold will shrink the aluminum more and help it come right out. Some are tighter on used bikes than others, but I have always been able to walk it out eventually with a few minutes of pushing back and forth on it.

Q? I notice your baffles are black as well i can tell when y did remove the end cap in this video, mine are metal shine, why's that? Did you paint the baffles ? Different generation? Or eventually they will turn black? Thinking about painting them

    • @TABPerformance

They are different generation. Baffles now are stainless so you can coat them if you'd like but stainless holds up better to daily use.
