- In this episode of Raxxla theories i will be taking a look at the dark wheel novel by Robert Holdstock. I will be taking a closer look at the possible clues that this novel may contain in regards to Raxxla, or one particular theme that may or may not be included in the future storyline of Elite dangerous, Time travel.

It has occurred to me, many times before, that Raxxla may have, or rather, SHOULD have, a connection to WitchSpace.
Witchspace should be as intrinsic to Elite as the Empyrean is to 40k.
Frontier really should employ some excellent & talented writers to deal with the Raxxla mystery. & they shouldn’t dispell it, any content should enhance that aspect of the lore.
They should also tap into communities that have dealt with massive public games to help direct the player interaction with every element of E:D. The Alternate Reality Game companies & those who were involved in producing those experiences would be a prime example of that.

WitchSpace is both my favorite part of the lore & the most disappointing part of the game for me.
We constantly travel through it, yet with the exception of the rare hyperdiction, we never really interact with it.
I really hope Frontier takes advantage of it in the future as it opens the door for wonder to enter into this, otherwise, hard sci-fi experience.
It is certainly an excellent game, with endless breadth, but it is missing the deep wonder that is hinted at in the lore.
I’m out in the Dark right now. Over 900,000 yrs traveled with over 20,000 systems encountered. I’ve been hitting all the Canonn Challenge spots across the galaxy. There were two places where gravitational Anomalies we present. One happened going into Witchspace. Not sure if it was a computer artifact but something I’ve never seen before. Instead of going into a classic tunnel a brownish like shield shape appeared just before going into warp. Strange that it happened each time I came back the left.

I found your series a week ago and I've been binge watching it on my free time and you've given me a whole new view of ED. I bought the game about a month ago because I loved the ships designs but all of this extra lore and theories you've shown me have made me want to go out there and explore as far as I can, I'm just in the process of fully engineering my anaconda so I can visit all these places.

Whats interesting is that Thargoids can come and go from witch space and wander around in there at their leisure, hence why we get Hyperdicted, and the way that Hyperdrives work on current ships (not including fleet carriers and capitol ships) is that they sort of "brute force" their way through witch space and will always target the largest mass in a system (hence why we always come out at a star) however Fleet Carriers and Capitol ships can enter and exit close to where they want to. but those drives arent availble for smaller ships as they are massive.
It would be amazing if one day a fleet carrier got trapped in witchspace for a player to log in, inside the carrier and realise he can explore witchspace.
@@MATTIUS Witch Space is a tricky bastard. Back when Hyperdrives first started using witch space, ships would have to spend sometimes weeks in there, now we've never had any control in there at all, so spending weeks in Witch Space with no real timeframe on when you were going to exit was kind of nerve wracking, I mean yeah, there were simulations before jumping, but they were very VERY basic back then. And in the end, the max distance was only around 7LY. But still, if the generation ships had these early drives, they would've probably faired a lot better than many of them did.

There are many a huge number of Raxxla theories out there, creating a gold mine of narrative options for FDev as we move forward. And given that FDev have recently introduced the massive storyline through Arthur & Co we can hope to see something Raxxla related in the coming months. Fingers crossed.

Currently. I believe Raxxla is beyond our jump range, not behind a permit. There could be a way to it. Like a special series of stars that make the jump there very difficult, or the Omphalos rift exists outside of Raxxla systems and allows an instant jump to Raxxla, wherever it is.

Raxxla is near sol as i picked it up it couldnt be to far as primitive ships could reach it

It could explain why the raxcla hunters are looking for it around Saggetarius A bkack hole trying to pinpoint the landscape signal , however that becomes unlikely when a dev said something about the systhem was honked but raxxla was passed , i think its right under our noses or just a few hundred LY outside off the bubble , if somebody already passed it in 2014 its closer then we might think

Great vid mate thanks again for another good watch. I also believe that raxxla isn't accessible right, even if it is in game as many claim it to be. Its not something someone is just going to trip over and find. Its Elite's baby, the raxxla mystery. I imagine FD will treat it as such with as much respect and care as they can afford, wrapping it in a series of stories and events when they are ready. Cheers man

I started playing this game 2 weeks ago heard about elite dangerous maybe 2 years ago didnt know any of the previous games i was born in 1984 tho lol , this raxxla myth is very very interesting to me the story off elite is fantastic as im getting to know it piece by piece its way more then just a "space truck simulator" as some people call it the imagination of something bigger and meaningfull and mysterious keeps people going , its easy to give up the grind and just stop playing as i heard others also talk this and the story of commander jameson the thargoids and everything i love it this is why i know i cant get bored on this game with these stories rolling in the back of my mind awesome game great story ... i hope one day we really do find a way to travel FTL maybe witchspace is real maybe its the space filled by dark matter things that are moving faster then light by nature if the universe can exspand beyond the speed of light i think traveling at that speed should be possible with the right knowledge ... any fans here of the alcubierre drive ?? A real warpdrive preposed by a french professor in 1997 that NASA was very very curious about to the point they are still investigating this
It is one of reasons i wanted to make a youtube channel on Elite dangerous, the people claiming it has no story. Yes it could do with being less hidden but sure the game has a sometimes amazing story narrative. Hello, I'm not new to elite, but am becoming interested in the Raxxla myth.
You mentioned time travel in your video with reference to Jason Ryder. How did you make that connection?

Time travel is mentioned in the novel "The dark wheel" I refer top the section where they mention time travel wondering how they know about the time travelling malfunction. Surely if someone had travelled through time no mention of them would be noted other than that the pilot had disappeared.

Black Flight are basically a covert ops group run by the feds on behalf of the club. Basically The people who attacked the Ryder ship in the dark wheel novel.
I've been thinking that Raxxla is tied to witchspace. Could the key be finding an old ship that can go into witchspace? Maybe one of the old generation ships is still going out there somewhere..

Whatever Raxxla is - it will have to be something so mind blowing, that anything else, will just be a huge letdown for a large portion of Elite's player base. This is WHY Frontier have not made it available in the game...

It is a myth. They have said it is in the game game but have never said it is accessible.

The honk rumour came from someone claiming that they had heard one of the games senior devs say that Raxxla had been honked but they didn't realise it was there. It was debunked.
Nope - Chinese whispers on the Elite grape vine. Never confirmed. The only CONFIRMED things we have about Raxxla is what's in the Codex in the game about the DW, and what Michael Brooks confirmed to DJ Truthsayer in the live interview. That "it's in the Milky Way, but it's a journey that every commander has to go on themselves", which is the most vague thing I've ever heard...

to the Cmdr Asking for the system i was refearing early...Lyncis Sector AV-Y c8...... as mentioned it may be just a bug but the planet/moon or something has an orbit going through a gas giant it does not move also it does not show itself in the map niether in the contacts/nav tab....not that far of the bubble also 3 fc there including mine the Samael's Revenge
