- In this epsiode of Raxxla theories i will be taking a look at a signal that originates from the centre of the galaxy, known as the landscape signal. I will also look at the Toast of the Dark Wheel and discuss my thoughts on what each segment could mean. Is the Omphalos rift in Elite Dangerous?

there are weird lights in witchspace near sag a*. the Eagle Nebula looks like the dark wheel symbol when you are headed from colonia to sag a*. couldn't figure out if it meant anything, but the eagle nebula used to contain the Pillars of Creation
Weird. Been there before when I did the dynasty videos. It's a pretty looking place.
MATTIUS i noticed the angles line up just right for the eagle nebula to form the shape of a spoked wheel about half-way between Colonia and the center. Probably nothing, but it stuck in my head.
The weird lights could have just been due to the star density, but it looked almost like a pleides shaped star cluster floating outside the left window during a few jumps near sag a*. I was in an unengineered dbx so was making lots of jumps. Anyway, thanks for the reply, love your videos.

I like the Rogue Planet Raxxla theory, not because i think its viable but because how fucking COOL would it be to see a planet flying through space...imagine trying to land on it, trying to scan it on an FSS, nuts man.
In the first sonnet the muse states "fool, look in thy heart"
I feel that the heart Nebula deserves greater attention, as a Nebula is a mother (gives birth) to a star and planets. The muse also speaks of the lovers woe in the first sonnet. This was also the gateway to the Formadine Rift mystery, and is relatively close to the bubble. Just a thought. Keep up the fantastic work Commander.
Interesting. There is a surprising level of human activity in those Nebulas also.

In haven’t been logged in for about a month. My ship, the ‘Seventy Five’ is docked at Anchorage.
The last time I was out at SagA* I had an odd encounter while skimming the horizon.
One of the lensed stars was brighter and moving opposite the flow of the others, I instinctively gave chase thinking it would lens out when I moved, but it didn’t. I chased it for a little while, it got harder to follow then I lost concentration and it was gone.
I’ve only just found your amazing videos, and I’m now thinking this may have been more than a fun display anomaly.
I’m going to try and find this guiding star again when I get my PS4 back up and running.

Ive always found it curious how alot of sci-fi fans are also "mythology" fans (im one of them myself)
Always been fascinated with religious themed science fiction plots such a kara thrace and some Babylon 5 elements. I guess it adds a bit of mystery that i attempt to explain with my agnostic brain.
FDEV, it seems, to have placed hints and clues about Raxxla and the Dark Wheel in ED. Your videos shine a light on this possibility. Keep the great videos coming. Thank you!

In my opinion, and it's a guess, the ED code may be poorly documented and contain code (modules, variables, constants, etc.) that are either left to run when called or commented out. I see Frontier Developments as a software company that happens to produce games. At the core the code is the game. So if Raxxla "was" coded in the past, can or do the updates properly "connect" with the Raxxla software code? Has it been commented out for some reason? Will it be activated when a Cmdr performs specific tasks in a specified sequence? It's just a riddle, in a conundrum, wrapped in possibilities. IF the Raxxla and The Dark Wheel code is active then the CODEX entries hold the clues we have to go on. All of the above are the the thoughts of an old Cmdr who is possibly suffering from space madness. Cheers,

@@hashinici6422 With the CODEX and the Dark Wheel faction active in ED I can "assume" that the RAXXLA code is active and connected. If that assumption is correct and there is a set of actions / activities that can be accomplished then RAXXLA can (possibly) be found. Whew, so many logic functions are involved. I'm without my gaming computer for the time being and when it gets up and running I'll find the Cmdr group searching for RAXXLA and join the search. I've run missions for the Dark Wheel in the past. If Dark Wheel expansion is needed to unravel the mystery of RAXXLA then I'll work towards that goal. Do you know of a Cmdr group that's focused on finding RAXXLA? I'll definitely join and do my part for them. I wonder if "Space Legs" will be a part of finding RAXXLA? Thank you for your responses, they are very appreciated.
@@hashinici6422 I'll do that. The RAXXLA discovery game path seems to be the best thing to do right now. I'll buy the "Space Legs" update when it arrives to see how it is, and also keep up the search for RAXXLA. Having both RAXXLA and The Dark Wheel in the CODEX "should" mean they are in the game. I remember the original Novella that came with the original game and in it the charactor Rafe Zetter states the Raxxla was a 'ghost planet' and you had to be Elite rank to get there...

I always thought a parents grief and lovers woe realated to a binary system that either collapsed on itself or was split. One being pulled away by a black hole and one turning into a neutron star or pulsar (makes more sense to me considering they release signals which would account for a lovers woe (crying star))
They could be. This is just my own theory as to what the riddle may mean.
The dark wheel - the "wheel" could be a black hole, circular and I think you're definitely onto something with the lensing effect of a black hole. There is more than one black hole in our galaxy (in ED anyway) it may b e worth investigating those that are already found plus a new search for new black holes...

Mythologies definitely have clues to raxxla. I was following a clue that pointed to Poseidon and variations of the myth and adjacent terminology.

Sounds like the threads you are following have a definite root in Greek mythologies. I think you are correct to put an emphasis on Greek mythology, I'm going to use this as parameter when searching for Raxxla

Mother of Galaxies, Galaxy from Greek mean milk. Ancient Greeks looking up would see a white stripe, so they though was created by the milk of Era or in English Hera, wife of Zeus. Basically when we say "Milky way Galaxy" we are really saying "Milky way Milk" (a mother's milk). Considering what a mother does for her child is feed her/him with her milk and considering that the word Galaxy apply to any huge assembly of celestial bodies (Galaxy). Andromeda is not the milky way, but is still a Galaxy, so to Hera the mother of Galaxies. Just a thought. I'm investigating the Hera sys, there is Hera 1 that looks like a hand made, by frontier, "landable" planet. Of course i don't expect to find anything all of this is mere speculation.

Nice video. Though we’re kinda sure that it’s nothing of interest. It’s probably misplaced and should’ve been on SagA*.
By the time I’d got to the region, Publicstaticvoid and xaintly had already done all the heavy lifting by triangulating the source between 3 systems. We had supercruised between all possible combinations of systems in the area to see if something would pop up on our nav panels but we’d got nothing.
I’ve got several reasons to believe it’s not unusual:
- When you supercruise, skybox stays fixed, it won’t change. But the distance between the systems are calculated in real time. For instance; if you target a system and supercruise to it, you can see the distance gets shorter and you can go past it. The target reticule moves as if it’s there but you can’t see it because systems load when you hyperjump to them. Even the required fuel gets lower as you get closer. But when we went past the signal’s presumed whereabouts, it still stayed in front of us, it was fixed like the skybox. It wasn’t an object with a location in 3D space.
- It's on the SFX channel, you need to turn the music off to hear it clearly. But also SFX channel has its own music too, not just the signal. If you turn around from the signal’s direction, not only the signal disappears, but the whole background music changes too. So it’s part of the background music, not a sound on top of the music.
- It’s faint and has the same strength at any place in the galaxy. It doesn’t become stronger when you get closer. 20k lys away or a couple, it doesn’t matter, it’s always faint.
As a sidenote, I’d brought every Thargoid and Guardian stuff there and none of them reacted unusually in any system around.
I alone have scanned dozens of systems, mapped every planet, visited every geo and bio location, but got nothing.
It was a waste of a lot of time but I worked with great people. 10/10 would do it again.

Good points. Maybe as the game is at the moment this anomaly is only a teaser to what they planed at some point or something they intend to use in the future as part of the progression of the story of the game.
Personally i think that the Raxxla mystery cannot be solved with the game in its current state. I know they have stated that it has been accessible since release but it makes sense to implement more substantial parts to the puzzle as FPS mechanics become available in the game. Raxxla is the biggest thing Elite has going for it that is different to its competitors and as such it would be hard for FDev not to disappoint fans if Raxxla was simply a planet or other asset that is currently available in the game.
"we do not know what Raxxla is" and "Raxxla is a journey" is key for me when looking at this whole thing. I do not think that it is one single place or encounter, more a massive story arc.
I believe that a different approach is required when looking at the Raxxla mystery. In my eyes these may be teaser for future storylines. As these weird things that exist in the game could be tied up in some future event. Raxxla is basically future content in my opinion. Even if the the landscape signal was not intentional initially it could be implemented into the Greek mythology influences within the Game.

@@MATTIUS I don’t know if it’s in the game but many people have taken their words as it is and at this point, if Raxxla is not discoverable/accessible or not a real asset in the game, it would mean that FDev has deceived the playerbase. I spent months before I ran out of ideas and stopped, some spent years and still on the hunt.
They never said it’s accessible btw, they only said it’s in the game.
@@eckee Id rather have raxxla in the game with FPS assets than with a ship only encounter. The possibilities for Zeno archology encounters would make an amazing experience.

If you take the sag A black hole as the siren, and the spiraling star as the blue jump scoop things. And then look at the other references. Does it make an obvious path?
They did keep referencing nebula. Maybe if you lense the black hole and aim at andromeda or other places you get a certain nebula.

While on my way to Sagittarius A, there have been multiple times where I’ll be passing certain systems and hear a loud echo that almost sounds like a distant ship using a discovery scanner. Idk if it has anything to do with it but I’m curious if anyone else have heard these sounds while traveling there.
There are loads of weird things out those ways. On my way to hyponia then to sag a so I'll be looking into stuff around there in the near future.
I have to start paying attention, now, because I’m making my way to Colonia right now. Maybe I’ll hear those strange noises, too.

What if we took a Thargoid Probe, set nav point to Sag A, and face the probe so it's pointed at Merope, as we face the probe as well? I wonder what the spectral graph would do then? While receiving both audio transmissions?
I've always wondered whether the Thargoid probes had any connection to these types of mysteries. Im sure Guru has done extensive research using all the alien artefacts.
@@MATTIUS One of my early theories was that deploying a Probe, Link and Sensor would harmonize three and the Link can point a path to wherever. I tried this in some curious locations, to no avail. I thought it would be a good use of the tech, from a gameplay perspective. Other than that? I've tested all Thargoid items at Guardian pylon(strutcture sites) and many other things, including deployment of all alien artifacts over Soontill, a supposed location where joint human/ Thargoid projects may have taken place. I've jettisoned alien items at black holes (they don't get pulled in), have tried following Interceptors into their own wakes, while carrying hearts, sensors, probes, links etc. In order to fool their FSDs into thinking I was part of their ship and so much more...no go.
If the FSD can only home in on gravity wells, could it stand to reason that a similar technology that was insanely more power (say powerful enough to jump from one Galaxy to another) need a similarly up scaled gravity well compared to the distance being jumped? Maybe that signal is the nav beacon for such a jump or even a jump gate. A ring. A DARK ring....
Clearly the signal is an Odyssey thing? A feature of landscape, giving you a direction to a base or a place?
It could be part of a long standing set of clues that would of ended at some kind of an Easter egg for Odyssey, of note is that this has been in the game for a few years now. Thanks for the watch.

Fringe theories are the best ones
Actually if you fell past the event horizon of the black hole, what you would actually find from your perspective would be a literal entire galaxy of more systems, however looking out you would find the entire galaxy wheeling around you, since your relative time would have been distorted. Every second for you at this point would probably be years outside. Within this area you could probably even explore and live out your life as normal, but thousands if not millions of years would have passed outside.
There is something I call the depressing big bang theory that says, the galaxy is not in fact expanding, because we are already within the sphere of influence of our local black hole, and as we fall in and compress further, it gives the illusion that the rest of the universe is expanding..

I've been hoping for something like this... Someone gets to a certain point in the galaxy and we discover a new alien race. This race is friendly and opens up a new era of technology to us including new frameshift capabilities and weapons. Yet because we are now more capable we discover another alien race this time not friendly who begin to invade the rest of the galaxy, humanity and aliens alike are forced to fight side by side to halt the onslaught.

incredibly simplistic view.... could RAXXLA be coordinates. System RA, Roman numeral X (Ra10 a gas giant), second Roman numeral X (Rocky body 10 Landable A) could there be something on/close to that moon in the Ra system. Leave no stone unturned for the quest for RAXXLA

A black hole can not be a nursery. It is a terminus of stars. Now there are some formations newly discovered that appear to be nursery stars, hubble found some a couple years ago. I remember seeing pictures, but it escapes me the name of the system. I like these stories, though when reciting the poems, your accent made it hard to understand, i am american. I played a bit of this game and went to exploring almost immediately. I had not heard of this raxxla, i didnt look at the codex. I am arguing with myself on whether to get some sticks and pedals and maybe a new monitor to really explore this idea.
