That although all confirmed lore researched to make these videos has been sourced from connected pieces of information such as gal-news articles, in game lore entries, wiki articles and forum posts some information mentioned is speculative. Extra material "outside" of Elite dangerous such as Robert Holdstock, wiki fandom, previous Elite games, forum speculation is mentioned as non canonical and is used to form opinion and speculation to future Elite dangerous storyline events. Let me explain all the parts. (Quantum particle things scientist here, to be precise, I am more into electrons and their interaction with EM fields :) )
Regarding the laws of conservation. Mass is not "consumed" by the black hole. Black hole itself HAS mas. And the mass "fallen" into the black holes is simply added. Regarding TD of black holes. The more interesting part is the entropy, which has to rise in whole space (a fundamental law). This also not broken and adding particles to the black hole creates their "hologram" on the event horizon effectively rising entropy.
Next, the subject of Hawking radiation (not Hawkins) is not a purely subatomic particle, but a thing called "vacuum fluctuation". There is something called "zero-point energy" (ZPE, *wink at SG fans*). It is the energy of a completely free space without any particles (pure vacuum). It is proven that even pure vacuum has this ZPE. But as we know mass is energy, energy is mass. There is then a finite probability that the energy (ZPE) will be converted into particle - more precisely a virtual pair of particles, but as every thing has to be conserved, it has to be a particle and its anti-particle (electron-positron, proton-antiproton,...). And now, if it happens near event horizon, one particle can fall into the event horizon, while the other is freed taking some of the momentum of the blackhole with it. And it is observable.
The rest is a bit mixed together, but that is completely alright! You get the idea ^^
Negative mass/negative matter could exist and some experiments actually show some effects to produce negative mass. (Fun fact: Sound behaves that way a bit ;) ) Regarding that, the wormhole tunnel would collapse should a matter imbalance happen within. Therefore, it is hypothesized that equal amount of negative mass would be needed to be produced to keep the connection stable.

It's not the crew of the station I'm worried about, more my krait ploughing into a planet while in supercruise.
My Theory of Raxxla, it is a Interstellar Exoplanet without a Host Star where the A.I. who killed the Guardians is waiting and watching.
Quick note on hyperspace travel: What we jump through isn't necessarily a wormhole in the same sense that a naturally occurring one is. Natural wormholes are connections between two points along spacetime. Hyperspace transit utilizes a separate reality of more highly-condensed space. In elite, hyperspace exists, to the best of my knowledge, alongside realspace like some kind of alternate reality.

if FTL uses negative mass, I’d imagine the energy is used to general a local wormhole and then excess particles are pushed into it to hold a gate open in hyperspace?

It's funny, you pretty much cover two things I've been researching; black holes and serpents. For both I've chosen to look at Ophiuchus (serpent bearer, or one who bears a serpent). More specifically I've chosen 25 iota Ophiuchi, which sets above the bubble and has a black hole. Now I need only hit my triple elite (4% more combat to go!) And I'll set out.
Has anybody tried to give a blackhole some TEA or unclassified guardian relics , grid resistors are popping up everywhere.
I have bumped into a dark wheel ship about 4k south of the bubble.

Thank you. I've seen a few weird things out in the black. The seagull nebula being one such place, with the weird marking on there heads. Wear a tin foil that though if you go as it protects you from sailing of the edge of the universe.

The pyramidal structures in craters are although probably nothing are always highlighted to me when I see them. The fact that 8 Cassiopeia has 8 asteroid belts (all surveyed...nothing) is also weird as well as the lack of planetary bodies, it seems strange. Probably there was once a black hole in the system that has eaten itself. The word raxxla, rax is old English meaning to stretch, another strange thing. Eisler did write a lot of fantasy so his influences are pretty obvious. Looking more into old English folk lore more as no doubt Steven eisler and braben used to get baked together 😃.

What neat video! I think in the back of the mind of every explorer whom knows of Raxxla, there is a little hope with every new jump that this one is where the mystery lies!
I would like to point out that black holes certainly do not violate thermodynamics though. When matter or energy, themselves reflections of the same thing, enter into the event horizon they add to the mass and gravity of the thing and are not destroyed, just like when atoms are split they aren't destroyed either, they are just converted to something else. Nothing is lost. Which doesn't really invalidate your theory at all. If you want to think about the crazy things one can do with a black hole check out Isaac Arthur's channel. Turns out actual physics can be even stranger than space magic!

The hole thing I don't get about black holes though (sorry) is that they have been observed to destroy themselves or close which would either invalidate thermodynamics or prove the multiverse theory. The whole negative mass thing seems to be a decisive topic, thanks for the watch man.

@@MATTIUS I'm also firmly of the opinion that whatever Raxxla 'is' - is that Frontier have not turned on the magic switch yet. Michael Brooks has said that it is 'in game', as in physically there, but I honestly don't know whether we can actually physically view it or not. And I'm also of the opinion that when we do eventually find it, that it needs to meet expectations. As Obsidian said in one of his videos - maybe it's best that it's never found? Not sure whether I agree with that, but the area I do agree with him on, is that it needs to meet the expectations of the player base. If it's some journey of enlightenment or shite like that, then it's seriously going to be underwhelming. I've also joined the new initiative 'Elite Week' on discord, that is looking to expand the Dark Wheel Faction across multiple systems to see if it triggers anything...
I hope there is something in the game I reply do. I think the community would not take it well if it is revealed that DB lied about raxxla. The journey thing is wet as shite, I hate it. I try to move away from it being a metaphorical journey to a more physical journey in the video above. I think that the quest to raxxla doesn't have to end if they add something into the game or it is already there for us to find. Maybe finding an outpost of some forgotten alien race that would lead to further cryptic clues to unlock more content. I reply hope they reveal stuff in the way they did with the thargoid first content, that way of doing it was totally original.
@@MATTIUS Totally agree with everything you've said. I've always thought that Sol has something to do with Raxxla. With Michael Brooks saying in the past - "it's a journey that every commander will have to make for themselves". What's one of the main things that people in this game want to do? Go to Sol. Go to Earth. And the whole thing of being hidden in plain sight - I wouldn't put it past Frontier for them to have a portal or link to Raxxla on the Moon or on Titan or something, that we can't get to at the moment.

For the past 18mths Raxxla has been my sole goal, I've been away from the bubble well over 1 year now & uncovered far more than is current public knowledge. Bet, so all I have to do is try and fuel scoop from Sagittarius A for about 20 minutes, jump to a smaller black hole and pry it so far wide open you could make a prison joke out of it. Boom Raxxla's right there.
I still strongly stick by my "Gravity may be physical matter" theorie, in wich blackholes event horizons are in fact made out of solid gravity. Wich occurs, by my spéculations, when an astral bodys gravity and matter collapses on itself trapping all this now very compacted energy and matter in its exponentially constrictting grasp. Until all this energy needs to go somewhere, so then begins to exerce huge pressure against the crushing force of the gravity pushing inwards. Ultimatly leading to its expansion. (Negative gravitational force)
Thus, creating in its core multiple chemical and biological reactions and events. (Spliting, pulling and pushing sub atomic particles)
A brand new reality with its own laws of physics obeing to its own brand new gravity, not destroying what comes close to it but taking its place in space. A new separate existence existing within our existence, replacing it, and independantly becoming one. Having a mass it will pull objects towards it , but would deflect any matter, light, energy, science, constance, mathematics, physics, common sens (etx etc) ..that doesnt belong to its reality.

Comparable to how everything went to become what we can touch, feel and see in the present time.

An hollow singularity that actually deflect light time and space instead of swallowimg it. Since no energy cant be created or destroyed only moved or transformed. Like a glass sphere with a completely different gravitational reality inside of it, as we know gravity defines our own reality and physics.

Anyways astrophysics is solely an hypothetical science. As far as we know, pluto might taste like cinamon that far away from our defined umderstandings of matter and physics.
Still amaze me that depending of where you stand from sea level, water can exist in its three physical form at the same temperature. And yet we pretend being able to tell how gravity and matter react in a probably very différent environnement than our own.
I mean we falsly assume that all suns are burning the same materials. Now that is simply pure udder non sens, and it is just plain egotestical of the human race to think in such way
The singularity is the theoretical point where we can be certain that our theories break down and no longer function. In reality you don't get infinities; so it is not expected for singularities to be real, physical things. Besides that, black holes evaporate. That's due to Hawking radiation. It has nothing to do with negative mass, because that does not exist.
Also, worm holes, if they exist, are highly unstable. About as unstable enough to collapse on the slightest sign of a light particle.
Games, however, are not bound to reality and physics. It just does good for them to keep to reality enough to immerse a player into a world.
A more important question to me than where is raxxla, is how would you know if you found it? Like it’s clearly not a star system or it would be found already just by searching. But if it’s the name of a planet, how many would miss it by simply not scanning every planet they come across? If it’s a location on a planet, how many would miss it? It would time lifetimes to intentionally find it by methodically searching star systems with how many ways elite has to hide it.

I would think a place that isn’t a place would be anywhere that can’t or isn’t described with 4 coordinates.
Normally you need 4 coordinates. 3 spatial and 1 temporal, Eg “meet me at X point in 3D space at T time.”
So a place that’s not a place could be somewhere that exists in a fixed point in time but not space or fixed point in space but not time.
Got an idea humanity is the Guardian exiles. They were similar to humanity just taller with better senses. A million years ago they were exiled to the other side of the galaxy. And found Earth a planet that would have been a perfect world for them. Tropics all over.

Only real evidence would be if the child's hand on Mars is a Guardian artifact. More likely it is evidence of the Dark Wheel novel being true. A child's hand sized object from the modern Elite universe but over a 100000 years old.
Yeah the Martian artefact is fascinating even from so little we know about it. We could of been introduced to Earth in Elite dangerous via the guardians, it is a possible fictional explanation to some of these mysteries. My take on it personally is that the Guardians had a base on mars and were observing earth at some point in the past. Why Mars is so devoid of life, yet capable of supporting it, could of been because of a Guardian AI attack. The fact that the intro music is so similar to Mass effect makes me wonder if the story writers had also took some kind of an influence from that game (Prothean artefact on mars).

I’ve been hearing people have more and more interesting in finding raxxla lately. I’m really hoping they don’t. I’ve never been the one to solve an elite mystery because they’re usually so complex. But raxxla is simple because there are no real clues for any expert on Greek mythology to figure out like previous puzzles. So I finally have a chance to discover something special in elite. It’s selfish and meaningless. But something draws me to raxxla like nothing else.
Frame shift drives don't create proper wormholes, but merely spacial flexures into hyperspace. Thargoid Interceptors are the only things known to create wormholes.
You said "INARA" when you meant "INRA".
Also FSDs don't literally contain copied Thargoid tech. They were just designed to use physics principles discovered by dissecting Thargoid tech.
FSD travel as far as I was aware, was through witchspace for which the thargoids can remain and pull human ships out of them. You got me at inara, apologises. The analogy of a thargoid peddling was merely for humour, but my point was if this tech was foreign to the tried and tested paths of human designs then surely people who notice.
Just read on the wiki then in regards to it being a sort of warp drive. It's somewhat confusing as cap ships are seen to open wormholes and witchspace being a thing I assume similar to the warp. Thanks for the insight
@@MATTIUS Even capital ships just create a spacial flexure. Thargoid wormholes also lead into hyperspace; the difference is that the way human ships do it is kind of the "quick and dirty" method of essentially warping space until it snaps, whereas the Thargoids gently pry open a wormhole.
But I'm being pedantic. :P It doesn't matter much.
My buddy believes the dark wheel station is literally a starport that was disused due to some canon event that made the system

Good luck to you finding it. My current thoughts on the dark wheel is that perhaps the dark wheel is a reference to a object. Like ships irl they are named after notable people or objects such as botany bay being a nod to revolt in star trek or icarus being a nod to the myth in Babylon 5. We know David Braden loves his scifi, notably 2001 and the original Battlestar Galactica. So although they won't have directly put aspects from those franchises in ED, braben could of been inspired by the events of his favorite scifi, to put similar themes in his games. To sum it up I honestly think the dark wheel is a reference to black holes. Honestly though dude, good luck. I don't care who finds it, I just want another chapter to the mystery.
@@MATTIUS the dark wheel canon is older than any of those things though. First mentioned in the novella with the original1984 release of elite.
In canon, raxxla rumors were around by the time Art tornqvist references "cora" wanting to borrow his ship.

By this point in the canon timeline humans had not gone further than tau ceti.
So before we left SOL.

I think that someone had access to technology a lot more advanced than the official lore states. Maybe something to do with the artefact on mars. I dont know.

good videos on the Raxxla and the dark wheel. I don't know if you have watched the Drew Wager Lore series yet, it goes into the mysterious origins of FTL travel. There are one or interesting bits where Micheal Brooks told Drew when asked that FSD was not wormhole based. But would not say what it was. It is also possible again with reference to Drew's insights, on the behind the seens fiction writting for elite, that there could be a lot of misinformation out there. Big fan of this lore tour and before that his initial elaboration on raxxla. Like you say the Micheal Brooks comments which I must of overlooked it isn't wormhole travel. Cant really see it not being wormhole travel as we go through witchspace, kind of like hyper space in Babylon 5. But hey, I guess we will find out. Thanks for the watch.
