- Hollywood legend Harry Dean Stanton ends the night with a bang by performing 'Help Me Make It Through The Night' with Kris Kristofferson, John Densmore, Harper Simon, Karen O, John C. Reilly, Inara George, Johnny Depp, and Mariachi Los Reyes at the Harry Dean Stanton Award Show on October 23, 2016. Vidiots' first "Harry Dean Stanton Award" tribute took place at the Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles on October 23, 2016. The show was produced by Vidiots Foundation, Harper Simon, Leslie Wilson, Logan Sparks, Sophie Huber, and Laila Nabulsi to benefit Vidiots. The show's epic House Band was led by Harper Simon and included musicians Carla Azar, Paz Lenchantin, Benji Lysaght, and Will Canzoneri. The show was shot and edited by Vidiots friend and supporter Garrett Sutton.

This is so beautiful. Harry there in his baggy threads looking like he has the soul of some boxcar tramp blowing his harmonica with some friends as if being in hundreds of films was just another way to pass the time. What a legend.

I am Hills and Hollows of Eastern KY kin to Harry Dean, cousin by marriage thru my aunt, Harry Dean's mother's sister. I saw him before he headed west by Greyhound, leaving Lexington and the University, around Cooperstown, UK veterans housing trailer park, 73yr ago. Harry and my Dad, drafted late in the war, both served in the Okinawa campaign that ended the war in the Pacific, my Dad a combat engineer, Harry, Gunner's mate on a destroyer escort. This soulful rendition goes in my collection of HDS memorabilia, shared with those few of us family left on this side with firsthand memories of our Harry Dean.
Watching HDS act or sing, or hearing him speak is like being in the presence of an Abraham Lincoln. A role he should have played.

I asked the same thing. I believe all the clips of people speaking about memories of Harry Dean & all the tunes played in tribute to him are all on here. Vidiots never got back to me when I asked if there was a DVD or download.

He was 90! I don’t think he was ill till soon before he passed from pneumonia. And Logan, his assistant stayed with him holding his hand till the end a year later.
